This is the perfect turnover putter for short drives. The BT soft is great for a putting-putter, but if your are driving, the BT medium will handle the extra torque much better. Great for a hyzer flip-turnover drive. I also have a Swan Reborn but it is pretty much unthrowable due to being waaaaay too understable for any practical purposes.

The Swan is a putt and approach disc from Westside Discs. This is really the 2nd version of the Swan, although now they have the first version reborn again. Not confusing at all. This disc feels and flies very similar to a Gateway Magic for me. Inside the circle, the Swan is very straight and worked really well for my spin putt, but when I tried to throw this thing I just couldn't get a good flight out of it. It really takes some touch that I don't have to do something with this disc as a thrower. It was just too understable and touchy for me.

Picture this: You step up to the tee pad, eyeing a slight anhyzer line through some thick foliage (putter range of course).  There's a drop off after the basket and you really need the disc to hover down and stick. You reach into your bag and grab, you guessed it, the Swan 2!  Release it on a hyzer and watch in amazement as it rolls up to flat and hovers over to a gentle turn as it powers down, plopping gently next to the basket.  The Swan 2!  It's for you!

I really wanted to like this disc, as I am continually looking for a putter I can use both to throw and putt with. For me, I just did not like the feel of this disc for putting; I was not getting good results. This could certainly be my own form issues, but I just didn't click with this disc for putting. I do like it for throwing off the tee, just not enough to keep it in my bag. As my game progresses, I am finding less need for under stable discs, and am working on release angles to make the discs I use go where I want them to. I do continue to put a Deputy in my bag for drives that are 280 and less, and need to be dead straight with no room on either side. This is just about the only time I use the deputy. I tried the Swan for upshots with little success; I had a hard time getting a lot of glide out of it. It comes out of the hand nice, personally I just did not like the feel of it enough to keep it in my bag.

Profile: Not a thick disc, it has a rounded rim, and is beadless.

Throwing: This would be great for anhyzer throws, or gentle approaches

Putting:  I think this is one of the best putting putters for new players out.  Newer players will like it's understable putting flight, where players with more power in their  will find it too understable.

    Final thoughts: Very underrated putter

The Swan is another one of those discs that often gets overlooked for the more-popular Judges and Wizards.  But that makes me like it even more.  My bag is like an island of lost toys, filled with wonderful discs (like the awesome JLS!) that have been maginalized by newer offerings.  By way of confession, I like Judges as well, but they seem to hit the front of the basket too much.  The Swan feels similar in the hand to the Judge (quite shallow), but it has a little more glide which, for me, helps it carry over into the chains.  It's my putting putter and seems to be ideal for spin putts.  I've built up a supply of ten Swans for practice purposes.  I've recently updated my status from "I suck at putting" to "sometimes I don't suck at putting."

BT Medium 174g. I'm a big fan of the swan for straight shots. It's also the first putter I used to hzyer flip. Great for tight wooded shots you don't want to skip. It is a great utility disc and flies well on uphill. downhill, and every shot in between.

The bead of this rim, which the Swan 1 Reborn lacks, provides me with the most comfortable and consistent index finger placement of all the putters I've tried. BT Medium is my favorite mix of stiffness and grip, for putting. Soft, I prefer for approaches, but both Swans are much too understable to be predictable, for me, for anything but < 100 foot shots. So, while I love the squishiness of the BT Soft, I think it's more appropriate for the Harp.
