The Stag is an overstable fairway driver in the Westside line. This disc is excellent for controlled fairway drives for both backhand and forehand throws. The Stag isn’t the fastest disc (speed 8), but has a very comfortable, moderate rim of 1.9cm and gets the distance with impressive glide.

Great disc, wrong numbers. Flies similar to a Crave where it flips up on some steeper hyzer and not over even if you put less hyzer or more power. I like it!

Good distance disc for anyone throwing under 400 feet. Anyone throwing 450+ I'd suggest trying this disc as a more stable roller.

Bought a stag VIP at a tournament because I had store credits. Didn't throw it for a month or two and then one day looking for a replacement for my essence tried this... first off the flight numbers are more understable than listed. For me this is the disc that I can hit 380+ with most often I feel that a good smooth shot always turns and then comes back. I know longer bag the essence because this disc will more consistently give me the S shape while the essence tends to fight me on turning. It is the disc I choose anytime I am trying to throw a long ways. I am definitely an intermediate player so this disc is great for my arm speed and form.

This was my first fairway driver, which seems to have gotten more OS as it's been worn in. Fresh this was great for those flexy shots that still need to be in a tight gap, or bigger turnovers if you really ripped on it. Now about 2 years after purchase it seems to just flip to flat and has a slow predictable fade. Great disc, but I also might be biased because I've aced with it.

I was hoping this disc would be like less flippier Essence, however, I found this to be extremely flippy and it has become a roller disc, but that was not its original purpose. If thrown flat get ready for it to dive right, if thrown on a hyzer it will flip up to flat - and this is without a ton of power behind it. It would say fade is +1 and the turn is -3.

Flippier than I expected but still a good disc. This disc has great glide and I love the feel. 8 speed rim feels great. Definitely not as stable as advertised. Expect this disc to turn right. I think it is very comparable to a Lat. 64 river but has less high speed stability (more turn to the right for RHBH). If thrown flat it will give a big S curve. If thrown on anhyzer it's not coming out of it. Useful disc in the woods. It is a bit touchy and unpredictable at times.

Got one of the new Matt Orum VIP Stags 172G. Back hand on a flat release starts straight then turns a far amount then hyzers out, but not fading about to its original release point. Hyzer release it flips to flat goes straight for the most part. Then hyzers out towards the end of the flight. I got it to be a straight flyer and to replace my VIP Maverick which has got way to flippy after a couple of tree hits.

Decided to give this disc a try recently. My first throw with it was on a long open hole, and it flew nearly dead straight for about 300 feet. Right then I knew I was going to like this disc. It works very well as a straight to understable fairway driver, and it has tons of glide, so it is just fun to rip on it and watch it soar. The only knock on it is that the rim seems to be quite shallow, so early releases can happen. But the positives definitely out weigh the negatives in my opinion. Great disc

I agree with some of the previous comments that this has more turn out of the box than expected, but not too much.  I'd give it a -2 turn rather than -1.  I throw around 300-315 max distance, and this is the perfect disc for me to get that distance and nice s-flight.  Also versatile for a straight hyzer flip shot or throwing it with anny will get you some easy turnover shots.  The disc feels great in the hands for me with a slight dome and a thick enough rim for it only be speed 8.

The only reason I knocked a star off was I was disappointed with the VIP plastic durability.  I've only had used it for a few months, and the flight is significantly more understable than when it was fresh.  By comparison, Innova's Champion plastic seems to hold up much better.  If you like it and want to use it as a workhorse, might want to buy 2 or more and cycle them so they last longer.

So there's fairway drivers and there's fairway drivers.  Most of us appreciate an overstable fairway with predictable fade.  Something you can rip on and know it'll come back.  Teebird, H3V2, Explorer.  Then there's the understable fairways that can be effective.  The hatchets, underworlds, roadrunners.  But if you're looking for something right in between, something truly neutral, this is your disc.  You can put a little anny on it and it won't turnover.  Throw it hard and flat, and it will go dead center with a little fade at the end.  You can rip it and it still won't turnover.  #Staglifeforerever

This is a great disc. It has awesome glide, and can take most angles I put it on. If I rip it flat, it has a good amount of turn before fading back. If it's on a little hyzer, it stands up and rides flat. If I need a glidey hyzer that can get distance, I lean on my Stag.

First things first, this disc is shockingly understable compared to what I expected from the printed flight numbers. My first couple throws I ripped it flat and it turned without much fight back. The glide is excellent, as advertised. I suspect this is a very friendly beginner disc, but may not find a home in the bag of more advanced players. It does show great promise as a super straight hyzer flip option, and I look forward to using it more in that capacity.

I went disc diving into a local lake and found 17 discs, most of which had no name on them. This was one of them.

I got to try it out today for the first time on a couple of holes, and let me tell you, this disc gets easy glide and distance. If my Fury is my understable driver for gentle turn with little fade, and my River is gets even more subtle turn and greater glide, the Stag gets some turn much like the River, but will fade back more reliably. It's the next logical progression in my lineup of fairway drivers. I love it!

I have had this disc for a couple of months and thrown it quite a bit in fieldwork during covid-19 lockdown. It quickly made it in my bag. I can put this disc to about 300ft (tournament burst plastic) on a very straight line. The glide is exactly what it says in the tin. Because of it, there is a tad more instability than what the rating of 0 would suggest. I would put it at -0.5. Fade is on the money. Easy yo throw far. I would not throw into stronger than a mild headwind though.

The Stag is my go-to driver. On a clear day, I can get my Stag to go straight on a backhand drive for a long ways very easily. The grip is very comfortable for my backhand, and it will always have a place in my bag.

I put it at 4 stars though because I think it can be a touch inconsistent, especially in the wind. When I really rip on it, or when it's a breezy day, the stag can react by cutting left, straight, or turning over right and not coming back. It's not quite stable enough to go upwind, and not understable enough to go downwind. On a windy day, I'm probably leaving my Stag at home, but a clear day I'm ripping it all day long.

I found a Stag without a name and thought I would try it out. I have really grown to like this disc over the last several months. The numbers show as different, depending on which disc I happen to pick up in the store.  I've seen it as 8/6/0/3 and as 8/6/-1/3. The 6 glide is right on the money. This thing will glide out!

It will hold a long straight line if thrown flat, then fade out at the end.The numbers give it a 3 fade. But I would go with a 2, or even less for my beat in disc.

I can turn this disc over a bit with a new one and completely turn it over where it's not coming back with my beat in model. But generally,  it will still come back and almost finishes straight.

It seems to like a long hyzer line, rather than a steep angle.

Overall, a great disc that I throw for about half of my drives. And it's usually when I need either a straighter line, or a turnover.  Also, can work well for an upshot in a heavy headwind.

This is a great disc for hyzer flips and s-lines. I can throw it around 350 on a full flight and it's very consistent and predictable. The plastic is durable and hasn't become flippy after throwing many rounds with it. I would recommend this disc to players of all levels for a glidey, consistent fairway driver.

I used to throw Northman’s as my primary driver but I found that they were just too fast for the shots I was trying to use them for (the Northman would not always pop up to flat for me, or it would turn and burn). The stage fits that spot perfectly, definitely a 7-8 speed that pops up to flat and glides thru the forest with minimal driving torque. When thrown high/nose up it has a very long and floaty fade that just sails forever, this disc can move further left than many-a-disc more OS than it.

    Holy hyzer flip, Batman!

I have a 173 VIP Stag that never got much attention since I was preoccupied with throwing teebirds and thunderbirds, and for a while, I thought it was an okay disc, nothing special, but as I started revisiting some of my older discs, I decided to play around with this one. As all the others have said, the numbers on this disc of 8 6 0 3 are very suspicious. I believe somebody pulled a jedi mind trick on the fine folks at Westside, and they ended up labeling this disc as a moderately overstable fairway, when it is in fact, a moderately understable fairway, and by golly, this is one of the straightest and fastest ones you'll ever see.  The glide is phenomenal, and while this is technically an 8 speed, this is pushing 9, aka control driver territory. Obviously don't throw this in a headwind, or be very cautious when doing so.

But on a calm day, this disc has some magic to it. I can very comfortably hyzer flip this disc on a laser beam to 340 - 375, pushing 400 if the wind wants to help me. I put about 15 - 20 degrees on it and watch it fly forward with a comfortable soft fade at the end. Occasionally it will manage to fight out of the hyzer, but doesn't flip enough to affect the overall trajectory of the flight. Glad I started using this again!

I find myself always drawn to Westside discs.  I don't know if it's the stamps or what.  I also find whenever I get a Westside disc it is pretty much a mystery, because the numbers are so far from the actual flights.

This thing is very flippy.  So much in fact, it will never come out of the bag unless there is zero wind or a tailwind.  You just can't trust it in any other condition.  I have discs I felt were very comparable, and the Stag is way more understable.  I have thrown Escapes and Saint Pros and both of those might turn in a decent headwind, but they don't dive into a roller like the Stag does.  I would say it is more understable than a Maverick and flies more like a Fury.

So on a nice calm day, this will go very far without putting a lot of power behind it.  If you are just learning how to play, or you don't get a lot of speed this would be a great starter disc.  If you are looking for a stable fairway, get an Escape, Saint Pro, or even an Explorer.

The Stag is an outstanding driver from Westside Discs. I really loved how the Stag flew. This thing is more like a TL than the flights numbers Westside has on it. I'd give it an 8, 5, 0, 1. It has some stability, but it will get pushed around in a strong headwind. Out of the box I was able to throw hyzers, flip up shots, and anhyzers. This is really a great all around disc.

I really wanted this to work for me but I just couldn't get it to. Too flippy. I throw mostly Innova but wanted to try out some of the Westside discs, mostly just because their stamps are so cool. Unfortunately most of them are much more understable than what their numbers describe. Infinite lists this disc as an overstable control driver. I would agree with control driver in terms of speed but this disc was very understable for me. Rarely, when thrown flat, could I get it to do anything other than turn and burn. I heard from someone I was playing a tournament with that because these discs are made at much higher sea-level than I play at, they are rated with different flight characteristics here than they actually fly here. It would explain why most of the Westside discs I've tried are much more understable than they're rated, but I was trying to find an overstable control driver so this disc didn't end up making it in my bag long term.

This is my favorite disc in my bag. I carry 3 with the oldest one being my most shapeable disc. Throwing a new one hard will give a slight turn with a pretty strong fade at the end. My oldest one will hold anhyzers, hyzerflip, fly straight with almost the same fade as the new one, and with enough room will flex and go soooooo far. So easy to throw! Get one!

I love my Stag and wanted to give it a 5 but had to go with a 4 due to the numbers on mine. I own both a VIP and Tournament Burst Stag. The VIP Stag is labelled as 8/6/0/3 while the TB is 8/6/-1/2. For whatever reason, neither one flies like the numbers on it. However, if they traded numbers, it would be perfect.

The VIP Stag has a healthy amount of S in its flight path. Not too much-- right in that sweet spot. It then has a soft fade that still allows you to pick up a few extra feet. The TB Stag has no "wiggle" to it and flies straight as an arrow before finishing with a slightly heavier fade.

The thing that makes the Stag a great disc is the large amounts of glide you get when throwing it. The 6 glide doesn't lie! To me, the disc seems slightly faster than an 8 but that is a good ballpark benchmark.

I loved the Stag in any plastic until my max distance starting consistently creeping north of 300-325. After that, I couldn't find the consistency from Stags that I could from Teebirds. I love the feel of the Stag in the hand, but I think it's much more understable than advertised. All of my stags ended up being more understable than my Sidewinders.

If you max out around 300, or are looking for a roller disc, the Stag could be a good candidate. If you have more power and are looking for a disc that flies true to the advertised numbers, look elsewhere.

The Westside Tournament and VIP Stag have become staples in my bag and my go-to control/ fairway drivers (and they're surprisingly, somewhat beginner friendly). First off, I would like to say that the flight path for a lot of Westside discs aren't always the most accurate description of the disc itself. Obviously, flight paths are, essentially, just guidelines for the golfers to gauge a little bit of the disc before the decision to buy. However, when I bought my two Stags, I was expecting them to be fairly overstable. But, when I received them and took them out for a test flight, I was able to flip up my VIP Stag to the right (RHBH) and then back to straight with a slight fade at the end. So, my main problem with this disc is that it's not as overstable as I was hoping and as advertised. Also, I really love the rim size and the feel of it in my hands. I'm able to get a really comfortable grip on the disc and I can get big drivers out of it. Overall, it's an extremely straight disc that you can crank for 200-300 ft. (depending on form and skill level) and I could even see beginners getting this disc 100+ ft. It's a really good disc and I'm very happy that I bought one in the VIP plastic and one in the Tournament plastic because both feel really great. The Westside Stag should definitely be looked at if you're in need of a really straight control.

I have a Stag in air VIP plastic at 154 grams. Incredibly straight flying disc. Long, straight flights with a dependable fade at the end. Also holds both hyzer and anhyzer lines well. Very wind resistant for its weight, but not as much as MVP/Axiom light discs. This has become my go to driver for most holes. I just wish that air VIP discs were easier to find.

I found a great use for this disc. After throwing with a tailwind I found this disc doesn't stop... just glides for days, any headwind though and your tuning and burning.

This has become my go to disc.  I do not have a big arm and throw my 170 Stag between 280-300.  On a nice level release it will fly with a slight turn and then hold a straight line finishing not too far left.  It is my favorite control disc and also is predictable when I throw it on an ani.

Ignore flight numbers (for the most part) with Westside. No, this disc is not as over stable as the numbers would suggest. What it is however is a highly shape able control driver with that great Westside glide. I bagged Eagles for close to 20 years and over the past six months they have slowly been replaced by Stags. For me in a true control driver slot (note, I don't care about distance as much in this slot as I do accuracy and shapeability) this disc absolutely shines. If I put enough on it, I can turn it over and it will fight back at the very end, controlled hyzer (8 o'clock release) pops to flat with just a touch of fade (have been throwing this shot in place of my TLs lately), 7 o'clock release it would the hyzer line all the way. Seems to be consistent between 70-90% power for all shots. All this in some really great plastic blends. If you are looking for a control driver with mid-like shapeability and do not have a huge arm, I would highly recommend this disc in VIP.

Flight: It flies nothing like the numbers, it's pretty much a straight flier, although I found it a bit understable.

Comparison: I can't compare this to anything because I still don't know how it consistently flies.  A comparable disc would be early run FD.  This disc didn't like power and was more likely to turn much more than I wanted if I gave it too much.

Final Thoughts: Very inconsistent: that describes how I throw this disc.  Some discs I just can't release consistently and for whatever reason this fits that category.

I got my VIP Stag when playing in a DD two disc tournament and I was initially so pleased with this new disc in my bag. I got it thinking it would be as its rating said just a little more overstable than my Escape I was throwing, and for the first couple of rounds this disc was exactly that. However, as I have played with it more it has been giving me quite a bit of turn when throwing backhand at about 70% power and it doesn't seem to quite have that 3 fade it talks about.

Once I began working with my forehand again though this disc once again a staple in my bag. I can put in on a nice anhy line flick and this thing lasers out there with a nice glidey fade that is very predictable.

All in all I have had to work with this disc quite a bit, but it rarely comes out of my bag and will make a few appearances whenever I play

I am writing this review from my own prespective. I am a fairly new player who can throw about 275 feet reliably.  I tried the Westside underworld and loved it so I figured I should go for the overstable Stag

    Pros:

    • Super consistent. I can always count on a late fade
    • Super glidey. I don't know how Westside made a high glide overstable fairway driver but this thing stays in the air for a long time (not as glidey as the underworld though.)
    • VIP Plastic is super grippy and feels nice in the hand
    • Great wind disc, will hold up and still fly consistently with a late fade.
    • Not super beginner friendly. any throws that aren't thrown very fast fade out early (and usually end up in a bush). Also, any nose up release on this thing will cause it to go sky high and stall out in about 200 feet.
    • Very long. I've had flat throws go around 310 and hit holes I never thought I could birdie.  It has to do with that incredible glide.

    Cons:

    • I don't think the stamp looks very good
    • The purple color is not very good. it's more like a dark fucia (if that makes any sense)
    • With my power I can't get this guy to fly straight as an arrow so I keep it in the bag for tunnel shots.

I picked up a 167g VIP Stag at a Dynamic Discs 2 disc challenge event. It's unlike any other disc I've ever thrown, but I've really grown to like it.

It has waaaaay more turn than the 0 turn rating would imply. But it does have a healthy amount of fade at the end of it's flight. I don't have a ton of power - I typically can throw a fairway driver 300-325 feet, and for me, this disc was an S-curve machine. On a flat 80-90% effort throw, it would fade to the right just to the point where I thought it was going to completely turn over and burn out, but then it would always seemingly magically fight it's way out and finish with a gentle fade to the left. That S-curve line was generating a lot more distance for me as well. On one slightly downhill drive I was able to reach 390 feet, which is pretty far for me.

I also found that I could hyzer flip this disc pretty well and get a nice straight 300-feet-ish flight, with a gentle left fade at the end. It would even hold a pretty good anny line, even when thrown without a ton of power, without fading out until the very last moments of the flight.

I throw Lat64 Rivers and Saints a lot, and I'd say this disc turns for me like a beat in River, but fights back left instead of finishing to the right, but it is considerably more understable than a Saint.

The Stag may not be what you expect, judging by the numbers. It isn't nearly as overstable as the numbers imply. The Stag is actually pretty straight with dependable fade. For Trilogy throwers, it's a slightly slower Saint or Escape. It has a very similar flight to an Escape. The Stag is more of a fairway driver, while Saints and Escapes are longer off the tee.

My Stag is a VIP at 169 grams. It doesn't fight wind like I was hoping from the factory numbers, but in common conditions it's very controllable. As long as I don't put any anhyzer angle into a head wind, it'll give me a straight flight with good fade at the end. Flat throws also produce a good, controllable skip. When thrown too high, it will fade out quickly and become a spike hyzer.

Trilogy fans looking for a fairway driver with reliable fade will enjoy the Stag. It excels in the 300' range for most players. It won't get as much distance as some other molds in the same category, but it can be a go-to driver for control shots.

The Stag... The Hilden Hirvi... The disc, along with the Warship, that started it all for me. This disc is beautiful. For a beginner, or slower arm speed, it's going to be a slightly OS disc with PLENTY of glide in it.

I personally recommend VIP, but for slower arms, VIP Air is still beautiful, or if you want the faster seasoning, or grip, TP is also quite satisfactory.

This disc screams glide as it flies through the air, given the right angles and conditions and it will FLY for DAAAYS... Now, ideally it doesn't shred headwinds at full power, but you can hyzer it up and power down to achieve some very long neeedle straight lines, even into a headwind.

So go out and grab a Stag, and play with it, learn it, and stretch it out down some fairways. I guaratee, if you treat her right, she will love you back...

VIP, 168 grams. I have thrown this disc for several months, and for my average bh, it performs just as its flight ratings would suggest. As an approach disc, when thrown flat with a one step, it hooks up and skips reliably. From the teebox, it holds a straight line for a very long time before that firm fade kicks in. A good drive for me is 320', and the Stag does that accurately with a nice smooth pull. You will want to reach for something faster and/or more overstable when faced with a headwind. I knew the Stag was a keeper the first time I threw it, and Westside and Latitude 64 have become my first choice when looking for new discs.

173 VIP. This is a great disc. It's perfect for straight shots that have a gentle fade at the end. I'd say it has just a touch of high speed turn and stable fade. My rating would be more 8-6-0.25-1.5. It is a great backhand and forehand disc that offers a lot of control with either throw and shapes a really nice line. I originally bought it thinking it would be more like a banshee, (0-3 turn and fade rating as well) but once I realised how the disc flew (straight) it has become a staple in my bag. I'd say it is more similar to a TL, Teebird, or crave, but it goes a litte further. Overall an excellent disc that had pushed the three listed above out of my bag. However, my warship pushed this disc out of the bag simply because I prefer the rims on mids.

The stag is one of my go to discs for a few reasons. It is very comfortable in the hand, can be laser straight with a 75% throw, and is very workable for various lines. It is however, more understable than the flight numbers let on. This disc will flip up with speed depending how you throw it. A hyzer line will flip to create a softer hyzer. This disc can and will hyzer flip, and again, can and will turn over when thrown flat with speed. Once you figure out what you can do with the Stag, it becomes a great go to in various conditions. For me, it fits between a Saint Pro and a Fury nicely in my bag.

I adore the Stag, Teebirds were my fairway driver of choice for my first several years playing. I found a Stag on a course, and though I returned it to it's owner, its promising throws prompted me to buy another one, and then another.

The VIP plastic is really nice, basically it's got all of the great characteristics of a normal translucent durable plastic, but a little better grip in the wet and cold.

The disc for me flies almost exactly like the flight chart, but you can force a slight anny and it will go farther. and it excels at spike hyzers as well.

Amazing glide and control as well, I've hit metal twice and got an ace with mine.

Bought a 169g VIP Stag in the summer of 2015, and for a few months I loved it. It was very reliable. No bells and whistles, it did what it was supposed to do as a speed 8 fairway driver with a big fade of 3. It was true to the numbers, maybe even a little downplayed on the glide rating. Fast forward to about October and either my Stag was so beaten in that its now understable, or practice and lifting weights just blew my arm speed up to where the Stag is useless for its original purpose. At low speeds I can get a nice Annie out of it, but the fade is almost nonexistent now. The Stag could make a fantastic first driver for players with lower arm speeds and smaller hands. Out of the box it was awesome and reliable, but in my case I can rarely use it now because its like throwing a slower speed Mamba, but with no fade at all.

However, the Stag remains in my bag... as my putter! In fact its become my all time favorite "putter" to date!  I haven't used a real putter in a long time because the Stag just blows them out of the water. Sleek and feels great in the hand, I know what its going to do in the circle, and have a good idea where a jump put will land.

I love this disc, it's a great fairway driver, no tricks or flash, does just what it says. I find it needs a bit more power then some discs of the same family.

I threw a vip 175g version. Right out of the box this disc has very noticeable glide, similar to a saint, and almost flies like the flight numbers. As westside tends to rate their discs more overstable than they actually are this disc has some turn immediately after release, glides and holds that turn forever before fading back. I'd give a new one 8,6,-1,3. Great tacky plastic of course, bit of a dome, small rim. After beat-in this disc became unthrowable for me. It became too understable adopting numbers more like 8,6,-3, 2. Even when I gave this disc a 45 degree hyzer angle it immediately flipped up and over before traveling 100ft and turned and burned at about 200-250ft. Now the reason I kept this disc at 4 stars is because after giving it to a buddy who throws with less arm speed, spin, and snap this disc became money. He throws it flat and the disc flies a nice lofty and long s line every time. For him it flies 8,6,-2,3 imagine a glide valkerie. So westside is still off on the numbers, but if you have a slower arm speed or are a beginner this is a comfortable disc that will get you more reliable distance. Oh and this disc is not for a head wind of any sort, no matter who you are.  My throwing specifics: I throw mostly at sea lelevel in moderate to high humidity. I have a high arm speed and I like to throw with a LOT of spin and snap. I'm 6' 5" with an 80 in wingspan.

Very nice disc. I almost always throw it forehand/flick. It has a nice even fade and I have found with a rhfh the disc tends to fly pretty straight. Where as rhbh its fade is a bit more to the left.

If you want a longer Teebird. In calm conditions the Stag is it. Unless you have a pro arm or a bad release you are not going to turn the Stag over and it has a consistent fade so you know where it's going to finish. However, as several people have mentioned, it is not a wind fighter. I haven't lost control throwing into a headwind, but it also will not fade like normal. The wind will usually force it to finish really straight. One of my favorite discs, but I also keep others for windy days.

The Stag is an excellent fairway, in my opinion. My VIP Stag is 169g, and while not as overstable as the flight numbers suggest, it does not fly as drastically different as I've seen some people suggest. For me, it's something like 8/6/-0.5/2.5 It does turn a slight bit at the beginning, but there's still a healthy fade... and on a nice even release the Stag really will glide for days. I've hit some of my longest drives with the Stag, only surpassed by my Sword. And there's a significant jump in speed between those discs. When I first I picked up the Stag, I really loved it and I still do even after months of breaking it in. It truly is a wonderful disc. However, I must agree with previous posters and urge you to keep this disc in the bag when there is wind around. The Stag does NOT like wind. If you try to throw it in a cross-breeze, you may throw shots like I have... massively long but hundreds of feet wide of the fairway.

This disc was an answer to my prayers. I use the Renegade as a primary driver, that having replaced my Avenger. I love the Renegade for max distance but I was missing the flight path of the Avenger. Enter my 172g VIP Stag. For me the flight paths are near identical, however the Stag doesn't require nearly the same amount of effort to throw. The glide on the Stag has also been giving more distance which is never a bad thing for my game and the accuracy with which I can throw this disc is a beautiful thing. The Stag is an amazing addition to my bag and is also my sidearm disc of choice as my sidearm when I can't avoid using one.

I have been playing DG for about a year now. My disc is a Red VIP plastic 171g disc. I really do love the feel of the VIP plastic. It is clear, smooth, yet you can still get a good grip on it. It is pretty stiff in colder temps (40 or less) but in warmer temps, it's nice and soft. The rim is really nice, it's not overly wide and I can get a good grip into it, I have fairly short fingers. I am not overly impressed with this disc. I do have a slower arm, and can only get a good rip on this disc once a am really warmed up and throwing my other discs really well. I have both Westside midranges, which I really love. This disc turns super hard and spikes into the ground most of the time for me. I can definitely get my mids out way further than this one, without them eating the ground. I think this disc will go into storage for me and come out again after throwing all summer. NOT a good disc for beginners. Check out the Tursas and Warship mids instead. :-)

My Stag is Orange, VIP, 173 grams. This disc looks very beautiful and feels just okay in the hand. I was really excited to finally throw the Stag after knowing it would come out for several months. The flight numbers are definitely not correct and it took me nearly a week to figure out how to control this disc. It is very sensitive to the nose angle, but when you throw it correctly, it might be the longest-flying fairway driver I have thrown. Glide is ridiculous on this disc! On an anhyzer release, this disc turns just a little bit, but finishes dead on or right of your target. On a flat release, it turns a little, but then finishes left of your target. On a hyzer release, it stays on that angle and keeps gliding left for the whole flight. Once I figured this disc out, I realized that it's a very workable disc and is very nice for shaping long and tight lines on your drives. Almost had an ace with my Stag today. haha
