The Giant is a great overstable distance driver. This disc is fast and can handle even 'Giant' throws. This driver is also good for controlled curving and fade shots, flicks, and battling strong headwinds.

This disc is a go-to alongside other overstable distance drivers (Force, Enforcer, etc) for my bag, and it should be in yours too!

When I started playing disc golf, I LOVED overstable distance drivers. I went about beginning disc golf pretty wonky and really learned how to throw backhand and forehand with a lightweight Innova Boss in DX plastic. The course I lived near was almost totally wide open and wind was a constant issue, so I learned quickly how to compensate for crosswinds and use the Boss to fight through wind. But, since it was DX, it beat in rather quickly and I was constantly cycling my primary driver. My friend let me throw his VIP Giant  one day and I never looked back. It's largely due to the Giant that I switched my entire bag from Innova to Trilogy and Discraft.

For the last 5 years, this disc has always held a spot in my bag. Backhand or forehand, I will ALWAYS trust this disc for hyzer dumps in the wind or long flights with a dependable overstable finish. While many looking for this disc slot will bag an Enforcer, I would also recommend picking this up for more harsh hyzer shots. I carry both and find that the Giant comes out of a flat release to make corners in a much more dependable way than the laser-beam flight of the Enforcer. Even after months of use, the Giant will still always be dependable. If you have the arm to utilize this disc, I would strongly recommend it

So comfy in my hand.  Though I prefer deeper discs. This is 1.2 in depth and that's my sweet spot. I've thrown it in both VIP and VIP air and the former can resist a large amount of torque while the later cannot but when dialed in will fly straight for days.

Forehand: you can flick this disc too. I've made some flex shots around corners that have surprised me.

This is not as stable as a Destroyer but can still take some power.

I bought an Elasto Giant way before I was actually ready for it. It just held hyzers like every other disc that was too fast for me. I took it out of my bag because I knew I had no business throwing it. Given the stability of the Elasto plastic, I figure VIP and definitely TP will be a bit less stable, so whenever I progress to handling 13 speeds correctly, the Giant is definitely near the top of my list to try as my stable to overstable distance driver. If you can't throw at least 350', you probably have exactly zero business throwing a Giant, but if you can, I would definitely give it a shot.

I liked this disc for hyzers when I didn’t have big armspeed. I have improved my technique and can now hit 400’ on a max drive. Since this disc has beat in a little and I can throw farther, I occasionally flip it over. I used to barely get it to hyzerflip to flat and it now will turnover on me quite a bit in any sort of headwind and is unreliable in tailwinds. I am going to go get a champ destroyer to see how that works for me. This is a great hyzer disc if you throw around 300 to 325 and max out around 350. Once you get up to the 400’ distance it is unreliable for me on a hyzer angle. I have a proton axiom mayhem that feels more stable than this disc does now.

The disc that I have is actually elasto VIP so it looks like VIP but it flexes almost as much as Gstar, and has similar grip to it. The disc is very fast and can get a lot of distance if you can get it up to speed, but is not as stable as they label it. I throw around 400 feet maximum, and I can get it to turn some. It won't completely flip or come close to it, but it will definitely move to the right if you rip on it. It has a great feel in the hand and is really fun to throw in the open field, but is not very practical for me. I prefer to throw destroyers because they are a little more consistent, easier to find, and more controllable.

This disc new is very stable and has a great skip. I use this disc for large hooks with either forehand or backhand. My disc has had a lot of ware so it plays a little more under stable now.

I was really hoping to get a great disc that was hss. This flipped on the first toss. Max weight. I have a big arm but I was expecting something different from the numbers. It's a great driver just as a in-between from a destroyer to a boss.

Man I love the Giant.  It is very predictable with the fade, I have yet to turn one over without throwing into a stiff headwind.  I use it for long FH flex shots.  This disc will fly with a great S-curve with enough power behind it.  I have even got one over the 450 feet mark with this disc.  Sometimes you just want to grab a disc at the teebox and throw it as hard as you can without thinking, this is that disc.

Its a great disc and fairly predictable, however I don't think it has much glide. I feel like it always drops out of the air fairly fast no matter the condition (like a disc would with a tail wind). I do like it for a more stable roller however. I purchased 2 of these and feel like they are completely different discs.

The Giant is a very nice overstable distance driver that if you have some power can really give you distance. I love it for long glidy FH shots that you can give a lot of time to ride a flex before it starts to fade back.

The VIP is pretty OS but not quite what the number suggest on the turn and fade more like a 13/5/-.5/3 and the TP is more like a 13/5/-1/2.5. Unless you get one of the Domey very high PLH Giants that fly completely true to numbers but after throwing half a dozen Giants and only finding on of those it's certainly not the norm.

The only issue I have with the Giant is that some can be as understable as a King and others a quite overstable.

I really only use this disc when I want to throw backhand and get a very accurate long range shot with not much elevation and have a consistant finish left. I haven't tried this disc to much for shots with a lot of air under it. I think that the fading finish might be to much for me, but I really love the lazer straight flight this disc gets at the beginning of its flight.

I was looking for a disc less stable than my enforcer but more stable than my world for the wind or long hyzer shots, this fit that spot perfectly.  I don't feel like I'm sacrificing much distance when I throw this over my world but I get a more consistant fade at the end.  Love this disc.

VIP 172, X VIP 171. For me,  I love my Worlds which are my main distance driver, but this disc everytime I throw it, it makes its case. RIght now it will come out when I need something longer then a World, so a hole that is more wide open. Also when it is windy. I dont care for the Worlds in the wind, just had enough times when they will come out of a line and just die in the wind. The Giants are bullets in the wind. Other then those 2 types of situations, right now the Giant is a back up to the World.

This disc has replaced all the high speed drivers in my bag execpt the Stiletto/Nuke OS role.  Playing with the plastics and weights and different runs of this disc can easily fill all the roles for a Max-D driver.  I usually bag 4-5, ranging from VIP AIR at 157 to TP at 175.  In general this disc is goin to begin very OS as with brand new Bosses or Destroyers.  Different runs of plastics and weights can get you some interesting flights.  For instance: I carry 2 VIP Giants, one is brand new, flat, with a slightly turned down edge, max weight, and I get as much high speed turn out of this disc as a seasoned Innova Tern, the other is older, beat up around the edges, and not nearly as flippy as the other VIP.  My favorite runs of this disc include the flat heavier TP (very OS), and the Recycled plastic Finnish stamped ones (domey, LOTS of glide, and wear in from OS to straight very similiarly to Innova Star plastic).

I find the flight of these discs to not quite match the numbers assigned (in an Innova flight rating sense), my numbers for the Giant are 12.5, 5, 1, 3.

In short, this disc is great.  Anyone can use it, with beginners and AMs with slower arm speeds using it as a OS wind fighter, FH players will love the speed/glide/stability of the Giant for all shots, and Advanced to Pro players with high arm speeds can get these drivers to fly just as far as any other speed 12-13 disc on the market today.

When you first look at the Giant, you notice the flight ratings. Westside says 13, 5, 1, 4. Seems a little daunting at first. The high speed alone can me intimidating for a disc golfer. Then you add in the positive turn rating and the strong fade and you might think this is too much disc for you. Obviously, if you don’t have a very strong arm, the Giant is in fact too much for you. If you have trouble getting high speed discs up to full speed, we’d recommend you go for something a little slower. If you do have a strong arm though, the Giant is a great disc

The Giant like all Westside discs usually does not match the numbers advertised. Westside says the Giant is a speed 13, but with a rim width of 2.3cm it more like a speed 12.  I would say the Giant is really a 12-5-0-4, and shares very close dimension to the Innova Xcal. With all that out of the way. I really like this disc. The max weight VIP plastic is the most over stable and really stands up to the wind, and in most cases is equal to an Xcal. The Giant does have ok glide for a disc that is this over stable, and that is one of the things it has over its competitors.  The Tournament plastic is not as over stable, but does have a tad more glide then then VIP. It beat in faster than the VIP and has more turn to it especially after it beats in. Dont get me wrong this disc is never going to be flipey, but After a few months of throwing the Tournament plastic I was shocked how far I could get this disc to go. For disc that is this over stable it eats up distance really well. It will never be your longest bomber in your bag, but it is very dependable.  I find myself reaching for the Tournament Giant more and more. If you are looking for over stable diver that can handle power, and give you good distance, this is must have in your bag.

P.S This disc for you flickers out there will make you do your happy dance.

A friend sent me this disc to test out because I hadn't throw any Westside and I loved it. Great disc I was looking for. Slightly overstable but when thrown hard and flat fades out towards the end. Like this disc!

This was another tournament disc I received that I hated initially for how stable it is, but the more I've thrown it the more use it gets. I am a flicker, so for me this one comes off extremely straight then fades hard to the right. I can get it out there a little farther than my Nuke, but it has generally the same flight path. I can typically hit 400+ ft on my throw. With this I don't typically hit quite that far, it tends to fade a little too quickly so it'll usually hit about 350-370 ft. The reason I like it though is because it will fight back in the wind. If I've got a strong right to left wind then this is the disc I grab because it will not get pushed around much. I don't care for in a head or tail wind. Give this disc a shot. It grew on me and now has a place in my bag.
