The Crown is a very underappreciated disc that can be used by all skill levels. With a neutral stability the Crown is a great choice off the tee to go dead straight. Up shots can be made with very little effort on any angle and when putting the fly straight with a slide fade at the end. The Crown has a medium depth and mostly flat top so it feels comfortable with any grip. If you haven't tried one yet, you should!

This was the first putter I ever used, as I got it at a local play it again sports. I had the great luck of picking this disc! It feels great in your hand and has a good amount of glide to it. It flew very straight, even for someone who was just learning. I ultimately stopped using it as I do not like the hard plastics, I prefer the bt medium. But had this disc been in bt medium, I would probably still be using it!

The crown is the most underrated putter in the game right now. It is shallow, with a sizeable bead. I putt with crowns and as putters they are very straight with a good amount of glide. My favorite thing about the crown is how comfortable they feel in the hand. I would compare the feel to a Discraft Magnet with a flat top and better plastic. When thrown they are very straight to slightly understable in my experience. I do not throw them much.

The Crown is a putt and approach disc from Westside Discs. I really like the feel of the Crown in hand, it has a nice bead, comfortable depth that releases well, and the BT Hard plastic felt great. It seems durable to this point for me. The flight of this disc as a putter is very straight with a slight fade near the end. This made it nice for my spin putt. Off the tee and on approaches, the Crown held its straight flight very well while still being resistant to some power. When I really worked it on an anhyzer, it would stay over and just float to the ground. Really nice all around putter from Westside.

    THE Trilogy Wizard.

Do you like putting or throwing the Wizard? But hate ordering a new one and not knowing if your going to get that same feel from the plastic.

In comes the Crown. Consistent good feeling plastic and familiar feel in the hand. I used this more as a main putting putter rather than a driving putter. For putting, the BT Hard has a nice firm but grippy feel to it. A decent sized bead and semi-tall shoulder fit in the hand nicely and help create a consistent release out of my hand. Flat with a little hyzer hold straight for a very long time before fading out at the end. Good for anny-putts that flatten out and lay down on treacherous greens.

From my small knowledge of driving with it, the flight has a good deal of HSS, as throwing hard and flat would hold straight then fade out at the end.

If you like beaded putters, the Crown is worth checking out. When beat in, Crowns are good off the tee for neutral to understable shots as well. The BT Hards feel clean out of my hand, and the shoulder has a nice, even slope to it. These feel a little more comfortable in my hands than Judges, which are admittedly similar to the Crown.

    Truly love this disc!

    Perfect level of stable.

I use a pt hard for putting ,and a v.i.p for drives. This disc in v.i.p glides for days. N pt hard it's a drill straight to it Every time.

If you like judges ,but wish they were a little more stable. This is that disc.

Buy one try it! You'll love it!! This disc definitely took my putting to the next level.......

Tried putting with this thing and I've never seen a putter NOT want to stay in the chains as this one. Sticking with my Swans.

Its alright for approaches, but already have several others discs I can use for that.

174g BT Hard Crown is now my go-to putter, and I feel like it will be that way for many once more people start picking these up. I have thrown Gateway Wizards for most of the time I've played disc golf, but the inconsistent feel of their plastics eventually proved to be too problematic for me. I travel for a living, and cannot always make it into a shop in-person to feel discs. After some frustrating experiences with new Wizards not feeling "quite right", I decided to search for another mold from a company other than Gateway.

My biggest concerns were that I love the way Wizards feel in-hand (the shape) and how they fly. Westside's Crown is similar, but there are 2 main differences. The Crown is slightly less overstable than the Wizard. I was worried about this initially, but now that I've adjusted it appears as though I am putting more accurately than I ever did with a Wizard. The glide is just about identical. The crown has a slightly different feel in-hand as well. There is about a centimeter long, concave cut right above the bead that forms a track for your pointer finger to sit comfortably on. This is extremely comfortable for me when putting, but this is totally subjective. I've come to prefer these differences over the Wizard.

I prefer hard plastics for putters, but I like them more "chalky" than "tacky". I was a little worried about Westside's base plastic options because BT hard is the only one I really considered for normal putting, but it felt a bit too tacky when new. I took a chance, and after just a couple rounds it beat in for a cleaner, less tacky release. It feels like something between the Eraser and Glow Gateway plastics to me.

Oh, and did I mention how incredible the Crown is for driving? This is somehow longer than a Wizard for me, which I love driving with. I'd actually prefer to throw the Crown during rounds at this point, but I play a lot of heavily wooded courses, and the BT plastics won't tolerate many tree hits. I'd love to see Westside release this disc in VIP and Tournament plastics, but until then I'll have to continue to bag my Evolution Wizards.

I have a hard crown, which doesn't work too well for me as a regular putter. But this thing goes straight on drives/ upshots! I have one hole on my home course that is about 250 feet straight downhill that requires a straight putter throw (weirdly hard downhill). I had been using my wizard but it always faded out at the end and put me too far left. With the crown, I can just swing through nice and smooth and it goes straight THE ENTIRE WAY. Even when it loses speed on drives, it finishes straight, maybe with a little bit of fad. Has made that hole and a few others a joke. I'll probably start using it for my primary upshot disc considering how smooth its flight is and resistant to wind, height, and turning over.

I bought two BT Hard 174G Crowns without the intention of ever putting them in my bag. I just bought them to see what they were like and most likely give away at another time. I used them for the first time a few weeks ago while warming up before a round and by the end of that round I was using them exclusively. This is very much a point and shoot disc off the tee and on the putting green. Off the tee and powered down you get a dead straight elevator style flight with no fade whatsoever. On a hard throw it will turn and never come back. Where this disc really excels is on the putting green. Give it a good spin and its dead straight to the chains with fantastic effortless glide. I can stand and putt with this well outside of distances that several others are jump putting from. Long story short, if you are a beaded putter kind of person but do not like the OS flight of most beaded putters, this is absolutely the disc for you!

    AN INSTANT CLASSIC

I picked up a 176g BT Hard Crown for throwing off the tee, and I must say, this neutral flyer excels in this category. The glide is phenomenal, so much so that I can get nearly as much distance out of the Crown as I can some mids. It is an amazing tunnel shooter, holding any line that I've thrown at it. The most impressive thing I've seen from the Crown so far was an anhyzer tee shot into a headwind (bold move) but it held beautifully, no cut roll, no early flex. I've also hit metal on a 100 foot hyzer approach. The Crown is a one round disc challenge kind of disc. As for putting, it does just fine in the circle. Once outside of the circle, I think the weight (again 176g) and the stability were a little too much to get that straight flight all the way to the basket. It dumps out just a tad early for putts in the 40 foot range, but I'm so impressed with this disc, I'm considering getting a lighter one and beating it up for a straighter putting flight. I think it feels great in the hand, the bead is not too big and it isn't too deep either. The Crown has really rattled my bag around, as I now am considering bagging them for throwing and putting.

Putters are too personal for me to tell you to get one, but I genuinely think the Crown belongs in the upper echelon of great all around putters for throwing and in the circle putting.

I just picked up a max weight BT Hard Crown to play around with and I loved it. I wasn't really sure if I would like it because I normally putt with a Zero Hard Pure (fairly shallow bead-less putter for those who don't know). Switching to the Crown, which has a pretty substantial bead, was effortless; I was throwing it well, and making all my regular putts and then some.

When I first looked at the side profile of the Crown, I thought it looked similar to the L64 Gauntlet, but maybe not quite as deep. If I had to choose a few discs to compare it to from the other Trilogy brands I would say the Judge, and of course the Gauntlet I previously mentioned. It feels great in the hand, and was giving me super consistent releases on both my throws and putts.

For putting I love the flight and stability of this disc. It was very consistent out of my hand. I was also really impressed with the glide of this disc, in and out of the circle. It seemed to have some sneaky glide compared to its counterparts.

As a driving/up-shot putter the Crown performs wonderfully too. It has an extremely strait flight with a nice fade. If I totally mashed on it, it would turn over, but with a gentle 50% power shot it would fly perfectly strait with some pretty awesome glide. It's holds a great line as well, whether it's a hyzer or an-hyzer.

Overall I was really impressed with the Crown, and it's kind of challenging my Pures... It will definitely find it's way into my bag so I can test it a little longer before making a final decision. I rarely put stuff into my bag after such a short period of time, but the Crown is pretty awesome. I would highly recommend checking out this disc, whether it's something you would normally throw or not.
