The Viking Discs Rune is a low-profile putt & approach disc with a perfectly straight flight. This putter is beaded, which helps it maintain stability with wear over time. The Rune is great for putting and has an easy to predict flight path.

Straight flying putter, but I am struggling to stay consistent.  It doesn't stick to the chains the way my other putters do.  I agree with most of the reviews below.  This is a very solid disc, I need to get better with it.

This may kick judges out of my bag. They feel super good in hand and are a little lower profile. Great disc!

    173g Armor Rune

The Rune is a stable putter with a significant bead and dome. This putter hasn't clicked with me for throwing or putting, which is a result of both feel and flight.

The Armor plastic is hard and slick, which keeps the disc from catching the chains when putting. Additionally, the huge dome gives it a feel that I don't enjoy at all for putting.

As a throwing putter, the Rune can get a straight flight if you give it the right angle and power. But I've found it much more angle sensitive and power sensitive than almost every other putter I've owned (Aviar, P2, Judge, and many more). Because of that, it's just a hard disc to trust for an approach or off the tee. I also find the combination of the large bead and significant dome uncomfortable in the hand for throwing.

Okay, there's something messed up about my copy of this disc. The 'Armor' plastic on my pink 171g Rune feels like Viking's much harder 'Storm' plastic. Plus, this disc is SUPER domey--and it doesn't fly worth a damn. I have a 171g Viking Cosmos in Armor plastic, and that thing is flexy and grippy. THAT Armor plastic feels like RPM Atomic plastic--as in, it's awesome.

I also have a Viking Berserker in Storm plastic, and that disc is indestructable--and hard. If given the job of digging a hole in gravelly ground, with a disc, I'd reach for my Storm Berserker, and it would emerge unscathed.

I'm a one-disc per round golfer, and I was excited to get an Armor Rune. I'd given a (flat--not domey!) Ground Plastic Rune to my brother-in-law, and that disc felt GREAT in the hand--and it seemed to fly just fine. But when this pink, supposedly Armor, Rune arrived I was immediately sure it was made of the much harder Storm plastic (even though it was marked Armor).

Even worse, I've found that this disc flies like a rock. It'll go straight, sure, but it falls to the ground surprisingly soon. By the third hole, I had named this disc "Miss Piggy"--because Pigs Don't Fly! I can throw some putters 350 feet (Zero Hard Mercy, or Atomic Tui) but this disc, throwing as hard as I could, flopped to ground less than 200ft off the tee. And when I finally got near the basket, after at least one extra throw, I found that this disc slips off the chains because the plastic is so damn hard!

To be fair, this disc does go straight. So if all you're going to do with this disc is putt, and if you're willing to hurl this thing at the chains... this is a fine, indestructible, short-range putter.

Picked up an Armor Rune as a potential driving putter. I find the Armor to be a bit slick, but manageable. This disc can glide for days! And when released flat/level it stays true...dead straight. Under a bit of power, I noticed the slightest fade ( RHBH ) when slowing but still very straight. Reminds me of a slower Anubis. I put it on Anhyzer to lay-up from around 60' out, it held its line then gently returned to flat and parked it's self nicely at the basket.  This impulse buy  has earned a place in my bag.

At first, I hated this disc. Super domey, didn't do that well for me as a throwing putter. But the more I used it, the more I fell in love with it. It flies in a dead straight line, true to the diagram. It also has a lot of glide, which works both ways. If you don't put enough power behind a putt, it'll crash right into the ground. But it can withstand a lot of power and still fly straight. I would definitely recommend buying this disc.
