Viking Storm plastic is a very durable blend that will maintain the same disc flight for a long time, even after playing heavily wooded courses. This is a clear transparent plastic with a glimmering shine. This plastic grade is comparable with  Innova Champion or Latitude 64 Opto.

I have almost a complete set of Viking discs, and I think this and the Berserker are my favorites. I've come close to buying duplicates of them at different times -- just because. The Ragnarok handles headwinds that the Berserker doesn't as well (the Berserker might be better with tailwinds). Depending on wind conditions, it may or may not be easy to get the full S-curve flight with it, but it is typically a great choice for getting solid distance regardless. The Berserker has proven to be really good for beginners who aren't afraid to put a little more umpf into their throws, but the Ragnarok is going to be too much stability for them until they get more experience. Experienced players I think will really like it. All but one of my Viking discs are in Storm plastic (similar to other brands' C-blend, champion, Phoenix, etc). It's a great plastic blend I'd recommend for its durability and the general feel and clean release; also the bright colors they typically come in which makes it easier to find the discs  -- and even easier to see them while in flight in different lighting conditions.

The Viking Ragnarok disc golf distance driver offers potential for impressive drives but comes with a steep learning curve. Designed for experienced players seeking substantial distance, it demands a high level of skill and control to fully utilize. However, for beginners or those lacking experience, its overstable nature can lead to unpredictable fades and turns, making it a challenging choice.

In summary, the Viking Ragnarok is a disc for seasoned players looking to maximize their throw distance, but it's not user-friendly for newcomers. Its demanding flight characteristics require precision and practice, making it better suited for those with the skills and dedication needed to navigate its challenges.

The Viking Ragnarok in storm plastic is one my favorite discs in my Viking collection.  This disc delivers early turn and consistent end of flight fade for both RHBH and RHFH lines.  The Storm plastic is extremely durable and provides just the right amount of grip.  The durability of the storm plastic and Viking discs as a whole has been a pleasant surprise.  The Ragnarok may not be the fastest disc in the Viking line but I have found it to deliver very consistent distance.

Anhyzer release: I have found that the disc will continue turning out of your hand if released on an anhyzer angle.  I would not recommend this release angle unless you are planning to give the disc lots of height or you are throwing an intentional roller.

Flat release: If released flat, the disc performs mostly as the flight numbers indicate.  If anything, the disc may be a little bit more under-stable and a little less stable at the end of flight.

Hyzer release: If released on a hyzer with a good amount of power, the disc may flip to flat and stay rather straight until the end of flight when you will see a reliable fade.  On more aggressive hyzer angles the disc will hold the hyzer line throughout the entire flight.

    I feel the Viking Ragnarok flies similarly to an Innova ChampionTern (S12 G6 T-2 F2) or a Latitudue Royal Grace (S11 G6 T-1 F2).

If you are a beginner or don't have a ton of power, this disc will probably be a great introductory higher speed disc that is neither very over-stable or very under-stable.

I am a LHBH thrower and I got this disc because I had liked the Viking Odin and wanted to try some others. I had seen that this should be a super stable and straight throwing disc and doesn't need a lot of arm speed.

Once I got the disc I absolutely fell in love. This thing flies so straight and goes forever. You can also throw a forehand and keep a straight line with some fade at the very end. I recommend this disc to any person wanting to see what Viking discs is all about. This is definitely their best disc out there in my opinion for drivers.

My favorite disc I've ever thrown! If thrown remotely flat, it fly's 50 feet further than any other driver I've thrown. It is easy to keep straight with a consistent finish. 10/10 recommend for anyone!

This disc was given to me by a good friend of mine, and I don't know if it was the motivation to make him proud of me or if this disc is just excellent, but it goes crazily far! I was in need of a straight-flying distance driver, and this disc fills that spot in my bag to the t. It allows me to give it some serious power without being afraid of flipping it over. To get it to go dead-straight, I just give it a tiny bit of hyzer, and it'll flip up and soar for days. This was my first disc from Viking Discs, and I was incredibly pleased with the Storm plastic. It feels like Innova Champion plastic but better. I've banged it into many trees and skipped it across many concrete paths, and it took a very long time before I even saw any kind of cosmetic damage. Not only has there been little to no cosmetic damage, but the flight characteristics have remained totally unchanged. It flies just the same today as it did the day that I got it.

Overall, this disc is excellent. It is a super straight-flying distance driver in excellent plastic. It is able to hold most lines that I put it on, and I can always count on a straight flight with a slight fade at the end. If you've never tried Viking Discs before, or if you are in need of a straight-flying distance driver, then I would highly recommend the Viking Discs Ragnarok.

My new favorite driver. The Storm plastic feels like what I always wished Innova Champion plastic did- both grippier and smoother at the same time. The Ragnarok is true to its flight numbers in my opinion. On a solid throw (RH/BH), the Ragnarok flies straight with a little bit of a slow turn, then fades back just the right amount to finish smoothly without  wild skips or rolls. It seems unfazed by mild-to-moderate winds (I haven't had a chance to try it on a really windy day yet.) The rim depth and width are perfect for me. If you've been away from disc golf for awhile, and are looking for a modern, 11-speed driver that feels comfortable in hands that are used to a more old school-style disc, I think you'll feel like you've found your bearings with the Ragnarok.

When I got my first Viking disc at the behest of my Norwegian girlfriend, I was absolutely blown away. The Barbarian I got immediately replaced my Latitude 64 Explorer as my stable fairway driver, slotting in nicely between my over stable Innova Banshee and under stable Prodigy F7. Out of curiosity I got this one, The Viking Ragnarok, to compliment my distance drivers but no way.  No way a company not named Discraft, Innova, Trilogy, Discmania or Prodigy can make anything other then a one hit wonder. I figured the designs were cool, but here's another Prodiscus or something. Yeah, pass.

Here's the thing, though. In nearly every facet of my life, I hate getting proven wrong. Disc Golf is not one of those areas, and the Barbarian was not a one hit wonder. This driver is incredible. Maybe I'm getting lucky and picking up the perfect weight that works best for my arm with these two, but I doubt it. Immediately, the disc has the rare quality of being extremely forgiving right out of the box, almost like it knows what shot you wanted to shape. I, like many others, have fallen for the Lamborghini of discs, the Innova Star Destroyer. It's fans, however, will agree that you need this thing beaten in, weighted to your demands and in the proper plastic to get the most out of it. As far as I can tell, anyways. (RHBH) A slight angle down an away from you? Reliable hyzer for sweeping curves. Touching it off with a bit of anhyzer? You'll sweep out wide, but it'll finish straight. No release angle will give you exactly what you bargained for, a noticeable turn and reliable fade.

    PROS: Perfect reliable distance driver.

CONS: Ironic, Ragnarok is in the Nors sagas to represent the end of the world. You'd think they'd stamp this on a less predictable disc.

This disc is a straight arrow, with a mild fade at the end.  Flight path is similar thrown with power, or toned down.  The storm plastic feels amazing in your hand and has excellent grip.  I would highly recommend this disc to intermediate players and above.

This disc is a Hyzer flip disc for me. If I release straight it has a big turn. It doesn't turn into a roller but finishes far right. Storm plastic feels awesome. Like a semi translucent soft gummy champ. Still get great distance from this guy

I really like throwing this disc. I wish there were more color options though. The storm plastic is great, and this disc has some great glide. It covered lots of ground for me and it's very dependable doing just what the flight numbers say. Loving these Viking discs.

    UPDATE 6/18/17.

My original review was off. I thought it was a longer FD but after several rounds with this disc it is far more understable.  If you throw this on a hyzer line it will flip up to flat, then start a small turn to the right and finish neutral.  This is good for that slow fade longer shaping shot.  Or its usable as a slower fading anhyzer disc.

Is it a good disc? Yes but definitely more of a shot shaper through trees rather than a long straight driver.  So a newer player would probably get a long straight line out of disc.

Good disc. I tried it both forehand and backhand on a variety of throws. I love the S-curve you get with the forehand throws. I was getting a lot of turn with this disc both backhand and forehand, so I think the turn is more than the advertised -1. I'd put it at a -2. Pretty light fade as well, in my experience. Maybe less than the 2 advertised, but I'm splitting hairs now.

Good predictable flight. Good distance. This is just a good overall disc. I think beginners would do well with it once they get their arm strength up.
