I you like the feel of the Westside Harp, but its not overstable enough this is the answer. forehand or backhand this disc will hold up, It feels like a Harp with a slight dome. Max power I probably throw this 250-275 feet on a flat line it'll hold then crash hard and reliable. Exactly what it says on the disc UTILITY PUTTER.

Pros: It is very responsive to what the player wants out of it unless that's a turn over

Cons: not for beginner arm speeds but will hold up to beginner torture

I was looking for a dependable mid that holds up in wind and never turns over and the Loki for sure does that! I mainly use it for overstable sidearm approach/drives under 250'. It holds up great and always flexes out. The only reason I don't absolutely love it is because I was looking for something slightly more stable than my DD Justice. I would say they fly the same. Although I got a pop-top and I know people who say flat tops are more stable. Either way its a great disc that fills the overstable Mid slot in the bag. I would also say its more comfortable to throw backhand shots due to the rim feeling slightly deeper than a Justice.

For starters, I'm a newer player entering the intermediate stage. I throw Harps and Pigs for my approach shots mostly and I can put those out to about 240 feet and 200 feet respectively. Moving on, I knew I loved the Loki as soon as I held it in my hand. I could just feel the understability. The disc is extremely comfortable in the hand and the storm plastic is maybe the smoothest nicest plastic I've held. You can feel the quality just picking this thing up. I've never so instantly known that I had found a disc that would be a part of my game for a long time before.

Throwing the Loki it does exactly what you would expect. Hyser hard and fast and dive out of the air to the left or right depending on how you threw it. I like the Loki for both backhand and forehand shots and every time I am impressed with it's reliability. No matter how hard I throw it or how much anny I give it, the results are the same. I don't know if I could even throw this 200 feet but it's perfect for 100 to 180 foot approaches that I need to fade dramatically. I will be pairing this with my Harp and my Pig to cover all my approach shot needs.

This was my first super overstable approach disc so I can't really make comparisons to other discs. To me it feels unique. Viking calls it a utility putter, I would just call it an overstable approach disc. It's similar to the Harp in that it feels like a putter/ midrange hybrid. That's where the similarity ends though.

Beginners should probably not throw this, unless you're a naturally strong thrower. However for anybody else I can't recommend this disc enough. I'm smitten. This was my second disc disc from Viking in storm plastic and both are absolutely beautiful and great feeling. My first was the Axe which is actually on my wall because I decided it was too beautiful to throw, but I digress. I really can't say anything else about the Loki except go pick one up and try it out.

This is by far my favorite disc. The numbers are very true for the storm plastic and the Loki hyzers almost right away. Distance shots aren't easy with it but it is great for an over stable disc that you can rely on to hyzer.

This is the most overstable disc you will ever throw. I'm not kidding. I will throw this disc on crazy anhyzer and it fights out almost immediately. This disc is very specific for the shots you can use it for but it is perfect for those scramble shots in the woods

This disc is terrible for beginners. I am aware that I selected this option and I don't really need to say this again, but I really want anyone who reads this to be deadly sure that this is the case. Obviously, this isn't a bad thing. I want to open with a bit of a comparison. If I had to compare this disc to others, I would choose to compare this to the Innova Viper, and Dynamic Justice. For being past a speed 3 and having been designed to fly in the first place, these discs really don't like to be in the air. All of them are super resistant to turning over and are perfect in the wind, but of them all, this is undoubtedly my favorite. If you read my reviews, no doubt you will have noticed that when I find a disc I really like I have the tendency to compare them to other discs and crown them de facto champion of the lot. I would apologize for this but I feel its helpful, and gives you all a bit of a frame of reference. The Viper, Justice, and Loki are undoubtedly specialized discs purpose build to escape tricky lies, hold their own in the wind, clear sharp doglegs and obstacles, and come out of the sky predictably. The Loki, and I have thrown all three, is the best of them. It's a bit strange, we're very late on in the year yet there isn't any snow on the ground in North Iowa. The ground is rock hard and freezing, yet the Loki can manage a big skip after a throw regardless, which helps for a couple spots on the local course. Obviously this disc would make most players homicidal if this was the disc they had to use in a one disc round. I get that. But, that's the reality of utility discs, they exist to lay their claim to fame on throws that no other disc could complete regardless of how it was thrown. And again, Viking has done extremely well not only with this mold, but with lining the statistics for the flight up to par. It does have more mild stats in terms of glide, fade, and turn then the Viper and Justice, but the larger size and slower speed of this disc make their flights comparable in the end. It's a brilliant disc and if you haven't a trusty utility platform in your bag, you owe it to yourself to pick one of these up.

Are you in a tight spot? Need to bend around trees forehand or backhand? Let the Norse God of mischief take care of you.

This disc is cool, and has saved me from some really tough spots. Glad to have it in my bag! You will not get much distance out of it, but has a very predicable and aggressive fade. It behave much like an Innova Gator, but slightly more predictable in my opinion.

Some of Viking Discs' molds are a little more understable than listed; this is NOT one of those discs! This thing is beefier than my champion flat top "ring of gators" Gator and my Big Jerm recon Mortar.  This thing is great for forehands. It's definitely not going to flip over on you unless you really try to bomb it out there, but this thing didn't notice the headwind on 250' forehand throws.

This disc is a lesser Emac. Really does what my emac does just better for shorter placement shots. Use it to curve around trees to run or lay up. Hyzers very well

The Loki is a great addition to the Viking Disc lineup! If you are looking for a mid-range/putter that will fade very consistently, look no further. I threw it in a 170-172g weight. It is labeled as a Utility putter but I also feel like it is a mid-range. The "Storm" plastic is very durable and will allow the disc to keep its stability longer. I would compare it to a softer Innova Champion plastic.

I was able to forehand and backhand this disc with ease. It had a consistent fade even when put on a hard anhyzer. I would say its as stable as a Innova Gator but just less stable than the Dynamic Discs Justice.

I really like the Loki! To me it's really another version of the Justice. The description "Utility Putter" doesn't quite describe it- I'd much rather approach/drive with this disc on short holes. The small bead on it isn't too noticeable, just feels like part of the rim. I was able to release the Loki really well and get it where it needed to go. Perfect for those 200 foot holes that you just hyzer the whole way to. There's not much more to say than that, it feels great, looks great, and gets to the ground quickly every time.

I did throw it on a couple anhyzers and it comes out pretty quick. I was able to reach around 230 with it on a big anny throw.

The Loki is definitely a utility disc. It is not meant to be a beginner-friendly disc at all, but is intended to be thrown by experienced players who want a very overstable mid-range. No doubt it is a useful disc in many game situations, but only when you want a short-distance disc with a lot of sudden fade. The Loki is probably the closest thing to a Dyanmic Discs Justice that I've thrown recently. It's a great disc for short-range spike hyzers. The flat top and rim are great for forehand throwers as well. If you need an beefy, overstable mid-range, this is a disc that will certainly fill that role.

The Loki is an awesome overstable meat hook approach shot utility disc.  This disc won't go far.  Unless you keep it really low to the ground it won't skip much because it will just spike into the ground. This is every bit as OS as the Dynamic Discs Justice, but rather than being completely flat on the top, it is slightly domey. If you like the consistency of super overstable mid, but prefer a little dome, you're going to want a Loki. Personally I prefer the complete flatness of the Justice so will keep that as my primary overstable approach shot disc.
