The Obex is an overstable midrange made with quality Vibram X-link rubber. This disc provides a smooth release and can handle powerful headwind throws. Vibram says that if you throw this disc at 56 miles per hour it will fly for 380 feet. Most disc golfers don’t throw this fast. The reviewers at Inbounds disc golf estimate that the average advanced player will throw this disc about 300 feet, with 56% low speed fade.

Picked one of these up this year for the Birdie Bash and really like it!  Not too overstable for me and has a great flight that I know will go straight (even with some head wind) and then a nice reliable fade in the end.  Also had better glide than expected, but doesn't do much for skipping.

This disc is a total enigma to me. Labeled as overstable, and yet there's no actual stability to this disc. I've tried 4 of these so far: 173 XLG, 172 Medium, 2x 177 Firms. Not a single one handles torque or power at all. Its actually ridiculous how much this disc under performs to how it is described.

For a beginner this might be a good "overstable" disc, but as you really come to form and generate more power, this thing flips over even on a hyzer release. I took the two 177 Firms I still have from my TD packs, and threw them in TAILWIND and still managed to flip them.

    Forget forehanding this disc.

If the Ibex is the Mid version of the Lace, The Obex should be the Mid version of the O-Lace, right? Wrong. I get more consistency out of the Ibex than I do the Obex.Thrown at 50% power or less, flat or on a hyzer this thing will go fairly straight, though it still exhibits turn, especially if facing a slight wind. The finish is nowhere even close to the realm of being a 3.

I'm glad Vibram is taking steps to improve their fairway drivers, but if I were a Vibram player, I'd pick the VP over this thing.

I think that Vibram plastic, soaked in soap, will still have one of the best grips ever. Straight, predictable midrange disc, in plastic that will survive anything.

Picked this up as a utility disc that will get around stuff due to fade.  This disc has worked flawless for that type of shot.  Any hole that tails left since I am Rhbh this disc is what I pull!

Short upshot flicks are wonderful with this disc!  Love it!
