The Kotare is a an overstable, high-speed distance driver by RPM. For stronger arms, this disc will have a long flight with a slight turnover, followed by a reliable fade. For slower arms, the Kotare will be the perfect hyzer disc, turning out of the hand to get around sharp corners and obstacles.

This is a great over stable long-range driver.  The flight numbers are dead on.  Makes for a great backhand power driver and works really well for long forehand shots as well.  It is very torque-resistant and can handle forehand flexes without turning over.  The Cosmic plastic is a very stiff blend which can take an absolute beating.  Stiff plastics also instill a lot of confidence in the hand, and I find a lot of confidence and reliability in this disc/plastic.

If you are looking for a "do-it-all" long range driver, I would highly recommend picking up a Kotare.  You will not be disappointed!

This is the RPM equivalent of a Discraft Force and flies AMAZING!! It is super reliable and you can get some good distance out of this disc too! There is a reason that many Discraft Pros bag a Force, and before I switched over to almost exclusively RPM, I was throwing a mixed bag of Innova and Discraft and a Force was among them. RPM has super pretty plastic and most of the Cosmic plastic looks like the Innova Metallic Flake which is one of my favorite looks. Cosmic is super durable and feels great in the hand. The rim isn't so big that it is uncomfortable to rip hard. You can throw it hard and flat for some great distance shots with a nice reliable finish, even in the wind; you can throw it on hyzer and it will hold the line the whole way without just dumping over; you can throw it on a hard anhyzer flex line and it will never flip over; you can even throw it on some great spike hyzers as well. Perhaps you are a fan of forehand distance, well then this disc will be amazing for that as well since it has a great torque resistance and will open up several lines that way as well. Wind or no wind, this disc will finish with a reliable fade! Pick up a Kotare today! Also, note that this is NOT a disc for beginners unless you want a disc that hyzers hard after only flying 100 feet or less.

Alright, I'm in the process of switching my bag over to RPM as their plastic feels phenomenal! This disc though took a little getting used to it's incredibly overstable but has sooo much glide! Absolutely perfect for power forehand flexes and crushes into a headwind. If you have a fast arm give this disc a try it'll take all the power you can give it!

Originally PDGA approved in 2019, the Kotare was retooled and re-approved in 2020 as a less overstable version of itself. With that being said, holy beef! I have thrown the Kotare in Cosmic, Atomic, and Strata plastic and every single one of them that I have thrown has been super wind-fightingly overstable. I know, I know, "wind-fightingly" isn't exactly a word but I believe the Kotare deserves this description. I am a left handed player and if I step up on a tee with a ridiculous headwind and going right on the hole is my only option for success, this is the disc I am reaching for! The Kotare is an outstanding forehand/sidearm/flick disc as you can really put some torque on this bad boy and still expect a reliable fade. Another great use for this disc is a great skip shot to get around a corner with high speed. If you don't think your OS Fairway (hopefully an RPM Discs Kiwi) is going to quite get around the corner enough, you can step up to the Kotare and definitely get the speed and skip you are looking for! If you are a newer player, you will probably want to stay away from this one for awhile as it is super OS but if you have a few years under your belt and you are experiencing too much turn on some of your other drivers, reach for a Kotare to ensure overstability! Let's be honest... I purchased this for the glittery pearl plastic and the amazing artwork. I had an idea of how this would fly but not quite as aggressive as it is. It's basically a very overstable firebird. I have yet to throw it into a nasty headwind but I bet it will be amazing. I used it on a normal day and if you don't really have top arm speed it will leave you hand fly about 75-150' and then dump out of the sky. Might make a good short distance forehand disc. I have yet to try. My only real gripe is that the rim edge that sits against your fingers is kinda rough from the mold. I had to sand it down a bit with some 3200 grit paper so it would quit tearing up my hand. I would say it would be a terrible forehand disc because of this. So in the end it flies fine but it's cause I can't throw it hard enough, but it looks great and a nice piece of art that would have a very specific use in my bag. Not my workhorse by any means.
