The Ultrastar is the gold standard of ultimate discs. In my ultimate days, I always preferred the Ultrastars. Great for all short of throws, and easy to catch. It's the best disc for Ultimate.

But this is a disc golf site, not an ultimate site.

The Ultrastar is PDGA approved, and I have seen people use them. Its not a terrible golf disc, but not one I would carry. However, it does stay in the car to throw around before a round to get loose. 

Discraft will stay afloat forever, soley based on the Ultrastar.

The Classic

Anyone that has ever played competetive ultimate frisbee knows that the Discraft UltraStar is the only disc the sport should be played with. All others (Wham-O cough cough...) pale in comparison to the consistent flight and feel of the UltraStar. If you are just getting into ultimate frisbee, you would do well to purchase this disc before any other. It is the only disc you will ever need. On a side note, if you can find a way to get free shipping for your order, $8.99 is about as cheap as you will find these discs anywhere, even if they are on sale on other sites. Its a great disc for a stellar price. What more could you ask for?
