The Softie Ultrastar is perfect for kids and new players. When kids aren't quite as coordinated yet, it's easy to get hurt trying to catch a Frisbee. The Discraft Softie helps minimize jammed fingers and is great for helping kids to get more confidence throwing.
Because this disc is so soft and flexible, it is also more grippy than a traditional Ultra-Star. I struggle to throw the softie forehand accuratly which is why I don't give this Ultimate Frisbee a 5 star rating.
