The A1 is an awesome approach disc that is now a staple in my bag. When I bought one of these my intention was to use it as a backhand 50-100ft. approach disc and it does extremely well in that area of my game especially in the wind. You would have to actually try to get this thing to turn over even in high winds. I love being about 70 ft out, throwing this disc on a hyzer, and watching it go in!! I've done it several times now and it never gets old!! Now the shot that made the A1 a MUST have in my bag is the forehand shots I can make with it!! It's relatively shallow, so forehands are quite comfortable. My hands are big so that helps even more, and I have made some sick forehand approach shots with my A1. Had a par 4 at one of my local courses called Rampart DGC a couple months back and I grip locked the tee shot, but I scrambled and recovered well enough to give myself a look from 80'. Threw the A1 RHFH on a slight anhyzer and buried it in the chains for birdie!! Still one of the best feeling shots I've ever made!!
