The Tried and True Wave is one of the best slightly understable distance drivers on the market. With a plethora of plastic and weight variations, Beginners and Advanced players can get something out of this disc. I find that I can trust this disc to turn with very little to no hyzer depending on the weather. It has enough latent stability to fade out of a slight shank, but its also not afraid of a little late flight turn. Proton/Neutron for a straighter profile, Fission for more turn or newer players. A true MVP classic

174 gram MVP Wave in Proton plastic. Proton is durable and looks and feels good. The flight numbers are accurate and the Wave has a natural S shaped flight that allows for easy distance. This is my max distance disc right now.

Fantastic Driver for intermediates and above! Cosmic Neutron is going to have more stability out of the box, Fission the least in our experience

Wanted to try an MVP driver so I picked up a Wave. Was more flippy than I expected but gives a beautiful flight without a ton of power. Very easy to hyzer flip for an intermediate player, straight flyer for a new player who wants to graduate from a fairway driver into a high speed driver without being too much to handle. Proton plastic was a good grip for big drives, made me want to try out more from MVP for sure.

The proton at 175g is has proven to be a consistent flier.   My avg drives are around 320 ish.   Not a big arm, but I have tried in lower weights and even at 170 the disc will show more right turn than I felt comfortable with.   Don't be afraid to get the heavier disc weight.

I'm LHBH throwing around 400' and up to 460'

I wanted the Wave knowing that it was under-stable. My Wave was max weight, Proton plastic, and, for me, the disc was way too flippy. Given enough height the wave will come back after a big flex, which is perfect for open holes/courses. I don't have a great forehand, and the Wave will give extra distance when you can access the turn and give it enough height.

I let my Dad use my Wave on a few holes. He is RHFH, beginner level. Since the first time he threw the Wave he was able to throw up to 30' farther than his average because the Wave has great glide and will provide beginners with a nice, easily accessible S-turn.

For power throwers the Wave will wander for up to 80% of the flight, even on hyzer, but will come back when thrown high enough. I could get the disc up to around 420', but not very consistantly.

I've thrown several Waves now, and been fairly disappointed with all of them. For whatever reason I can't get this mold to fly well. 1 Wave was stubborn and had little high speed turn. The others were all pretty flippy and very hard to control.

Out of the hand the Wave is sleek and fast. However, it lacks the glide and penetration of something like a Tern. In fact, the Tern was blowing the Wave away in side by side comparison by 50' easily.

Even on shots I threw perfectly I felt like the overall distance was lacking. The Wave has surprisingly poor glide and doesn't get downrange that easily. Frankly, I'd choose a Tern or Vanish over this one any day. At least the Vanish will come back once it flips over. The Wave turns all the way to the ground frequently.

Hard pass on this mold for me. It looks good and feels good in the hand, but flies poorly. I've thrown like 5 of them, so I feel like this is a trend.

    True to flight ratings!

The proton Wave 175g is a consistent and stable driver for a moderate arm speed.

It exhibits just the right amount of high speed turn, while remaining stable enough to handle a big toss.

I was testing this disc last week in a field and I pushed it out to around 400' ! One of my longest discs and it's only speed 11.

I drive with an old neutron photon and this is the perfect "understable" counterpart.  I can only get the photon to around 375 because it's so beefy.  I would say the wave is great for someone who thinks valkyries are too flippy and destroyers are too OS.

The rim is perfectly sized for most hands, and feels great! Easy to grab and rip on.

Beginners will find the Wave to be a good ' flex line' or IS disc, and players who drive 500'+ will call it US, but I call it just about perfect.

A decent first-distance-driver disc for newer players. More advanced players may find it a bit too flippy. I still carry it for hyzerflip drives or for shaping long anhyzer shots.

this disc feels like it just flys so fast out of the hands i find thown flat and hard  flight path is pretty true to the given numbers it likes to slightly turn earlyish for an mvp and fades pretty soft if its not thrown on hyzer.

The flight ratings in my experience is a little off on this disc, I found that this disc comes with a touch more turn. However, this is a very nice disc for long straight drives in tight spaces with a good amount of glide. Lighter versions tend to be pretty flippy and can be used for rollers.

All around a good disc for intermediate players.

I like the Wave because it flies like a faster Inertia. I find it less reliable, however, so I don't throw it as much as one of the slower drivers. That may be due to the wider rim not feeling as comfortable in my hand. That said, I can usually get a bit more carry from the Wave than the Inertia, though I've problems getting it on line as accurately. I suspect that more throws with it will work out some of the issues.

    It's too fast for beginners.

The MVP Wave is an amazing disc that can be utilized by both beginners and advanced players. The first thing that grabbed my attention of this disc was the size and feel of the rim. Just like other MVP/Axiom Discs the Wave has a very small rim that fits very comfortable in the hand. When looking at the flight of this disc I would compare its flight to a Innova Tern with a notch less turn to its flight. For beginners they will find that this disc provides easy distance for the slower arm speeds. When thrown flat they will find that the glide and turn of the disc provides a nice S curve giving them a lot of distance.   For more advanced players they will find that this disc fits that understable driver slot. It is perfect for the Long Anhyzer/Flex Shot. When thrown on that flex line it will hold that angle and have a great deal of controllable turn to it that will start to fade out giving max distances on the throw. This is also great for hyzer flip shots. This disc will pop up flat and give a nice glidy S Curve that is very controllable in tight fairways. Overall this disc is a very comfortable disc in the hand that can be used by all levels of players.

This disc has monster distance but it should only be used when you have a wide open fairway because the movement for the first part of the S curve is much further than the numbers suggest. This could be the longest disc in my bag but without lots of room for the disc to do it's job it won't cover the distance it can. Another good MVP disc. Becoming more impressed with MVP the more I throw the discs.

MY FAVORITE DISC BY FAR! THIS DISC IS A MONSTER! Got the PDGA version from my dad b/c he did not throw it, but this disc is the best headwind, crosswind, any type of wind disc. Awesome " S" flight path and very very very long for big arms. Threw my max distance with this disc @ 413 feet in a light headwind. VERY AWESOME AND WOULD RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE WITH A DECENT THROWING ARM!
