The Wave is the second wide-rimmed, high-speed distance driver released in the MVP line. This disc is moderately stable and described as a longer Inertia. For high-speed throws, the Wave will exhibit long gliding turnovers and hyzer flips. Low-power players will find the Neutron Wave to be overstable, but useable for a variety of different shots.

Pretty understable disc for tossing a smooth anhyzer with a hint of fade at the end of the flight. I really enjoyed this in the plasma plastic.

Truly a great disc. I have two in plasma plastic. One is 169 the other is 173. They fly very different in wind. I believe at 173 this disc is more overstable than a -2. It is my absolute go to disc for head wind. That disc is a fighter. Distance for me is pretty good. If you are new to disc golf you will find the molds from MVP and Axiom are different than the norm. You are either going to love it or hate it. I am a huge fan of this disc and the Envy in multiple plastics. Good luck out there!

The MVP Wave in Plasma Plastic is one of my favorite discs I have ever purchased. I have only been playing for about a year and I am able to get enough power on this 11 Speed Driver. I throw the disc pretty straight. I get personal record distance with any tailwind with this disc. The plastic and mold feels great in my hands.

watched a friend bombing a neutron wave about 50ft further than I'm used to seeing him throw, so i hopped on the wavy train to check it out. from what i can tell, they go dead straight and then hyzer out. i suppose it can turn a bit much when thrown flat, but with a bit of hyzer, it's the most controllable distance driver i have. more accurate and touching the same distance as wider rim, higher speed drivers. my most accurate and consistent disc past 300'.

I bought a 170g plasma wave a few months ago and it has treated me very well.  It started out pretty decently overstable but has turned into a nice flip up to flat forehand disc for me.  It fits very nicely in the hand for forehands.  It also works well for BH but I just prefer forehand.  Not amazing for beginners.

    Talk about Glide!

The wave is an excellent understable driver. Most intermediate arms will have enough power to get a full flight out of this disc. If you find that this disc is hyzering out on you too early, then try out a speed nine. A nice flat pull or hyzer flip should give you 350ft easy with plenty of turn. I still get surprised how long this disc stays in the air for a speed 11! I wouldn't recommend it for your go to driver since it really doesn't hold some of the lines you might use for forehand or hyzer shots. Nevertheless, it is great at what it does!

Disc - 174 MVP Plasma Wave

Feel - The wave is comfortable in the hand as it does not have a very wide rim and it also isn't very deep. It fits nicely in my hand for both backhand and forehand shots. The overmold style of the disc is not terribly noticeable when throwing but I do notice it some.

Flight - The wave is fairly understable. It is a good disc for long hyzer flip turnovers or maybe even some rollers but for a more advanced player this disc will be fairly limited in its uses. I think that the wave is a good distance driver for more beginner style players who are a few months into throwing and are ready to throw some more fast discs.

Overall - The wave is a good disc for some people and definitely can be used by a lot of players but it just wasn't for me. MVP plastic is rarely in my local disc golf store so I try to avoid bagging it in case I lose a disc and would want to replace it.

This has been my go to driver for about a year now. For starters, my average max distance is around 350 ft. I can throw other discs like the raketen, ballista, and relativity slightly father than the wave, but only by about 15-20 ft farther and the flight paths of those discs are not nearly as consistent as the wave. The wave just flies straight and that's about it. It has an extremely tight S curve when thrown flat and lands with the slightest touch of fade. The overmold noticeably reduces the amount of turn and fade produced by this and other mvp discs. It has a flat feel in the hand but it does have a fair amount of glide. I don't have very large hands and this disc feels very comfortable in my hand.

Love this disc does not take a lot of arm to throw and has a very reliable flight path.
