Underrated midrange. Is a nearly perfect 5.5.-1.1.
im a weak thrower, probably putting this disc around 280-300 on a rope. This disc flies for me how I always wanted the buzzz to fly out of the box, while having the nice beaded feel of a Roc. And if that's not enough, this is basically the ONLY midrange on the market that I am comfortable putting a full FH rip into. The TR has a shallow rim so it helps the flick out, this has easily become one of my favorite molds and something I plan to throw for a long time.

The Texas Ranger is one of, if not the most, underrated midranges on the planet. As someone who loves narrow-diameter midranges, this one was an immediate hit with me. Dead straight with minimal turn and fade, the Ranger flies like a beat in Roc, with a much better feel. Try one out - you will love it.

Go to mid range. This is definitely fills the Buzzz slot. A dead straight midrange. I don't use a lot of midranges but keep this one in my bag for 200' - 300' straight drives off the tee. It is going to hold the line and glide for days.

Feel: Small bead. Reminds me of a lower profile Roc3 in the hand. I've never been a fan of Rocs or other beaded mids, but for some reason the feel of the bead on the Ranger is extremely comfortable. Feels equally good for fan grips and power grips. The Bravo plastic feels buttery! It's grippy with some flex, but it's not floppy. Perfect for colder weather or for those players who prefer grippier/softer plastic to the stiffer Alpha plastic.

Flight: Like a slightly seasoned Buzzz. Good low speed stability. When powered, the disc flies dead straight and just goes. When powered harder, the Ranger starts to show some controlled turn. The best part of this disc is that it is useable at whatever arm speed you throw it at. Compared to other neutral/straight midranges, the Ranger excels because ti doesn't turnover hard or dump when powered. When you really back off it, there's still some natural fade that can be utilized to throw soft glidely hyzers.

Overall: I absolutely love throwing this disc. It wants to be thrown hard and handles whatever you put behind it, but also responds well to touchier shots. The added stability of the Bravo plastic is perfet for this mold. The Ranger pairs very well with the added overstability of the Middy and the added understability of the BB6 or Lone Wolf.

The Ranger is a very good mid range. If you love the feel of the roc and the flight of the buzzz this is THE disc.

This is the disc I have been in the hunt for, for years.

This has the stability of a buzzz but the glide of a kc roc. This will hit perfect hyzerflip to flat lines with no turn or fade, but will also hold a sky anny with small pan to land flat at the last 95% of the flight. This is a must have!

    TL;DR -- It's a buzzz flight in roc form.

This disc has a lower profile than your traditional roc, which offers more shot shaping variety and torque resistance on forehands. I think this also allows a more consistent fade at the end, whereas beat-up rocs in similar stability will want to drift and finish flat. On backhand, it is exactly what I'd expect out of a buzzz -- some turn with a small predictable fade. IMO, the speed and turn make up for the percievable lack of glide as compared to a roc. So if you love your rocs but wish they were more forehand friendly and/or seasoned right off the shelf, the texas ranger may be for you.

This is a fantastic disc!  Recently started back playing with a few of Lone Star's discs and this disc has quickly became a favorite.  The rim depth is perfect for my grip.  The disc is fairly straight and predictable.  The Bravo plastic feels amazing.  This is definitely my go-to midrange.

Just like a Buzz but actually keeps it's flight numbers once it's beat in.

I really like this disc.  Even for my noodle arm (only playing two months and haven't really graduated to anything above 7 speed yet), it flies nice and straight.  It's really comparable to a Buzzz, but the rim is a little shallower and the profile looks a bit different.  For me, that translates into the Texas Ranger not resting quite so deep in my hand.  All in all, it's a comfortable disc to throw, especially in Bravo plastic, which I prefer to the Alpha.
