The Texas Ranger is my favorite lone star disc. I have tried alot of their other molds that they have put out over the last few years but the Texas Ranger is my favorite. It is a very straight midrange disc. I find myself throwing it a lot during all my rounds. It can go dead straight and also holds anhyzers very well while still fighting out at the end. Can be a very good woods disc.

My go to straight mid. I prefer a shallow disc and this fits the bill nicely. The rim is unique but that actually makes it easier to forehand for me than other mids. On top of that, these are actually kinda easy to get in Australia right now due to them being in the players packs for the 2022 Aussie Champs, I recently obtained 4 backups from peeps who weren't planning on throwing them.

This disc is simply phenomenal.  It's hands down the most thrown disc in my bag.  Thrown flat I get a beautiful s shaped flight out of it.  But, it will hold any line you put it on well.  I have this disc in bravo, alpha and founder's plastic and they are all great!  Such a reliable work horse in my bag.

I'm new to throwing backhand and typically only throw forehand (bad shoulders) this is a great intro disc for me. Numbers are true. I usually use this to tee off of hills.

Flies similar in both alpha and bravo plastic so it just depends on what type of feel you prefer. I thought I would struggle going from a buzzz to this disc but instead its been much easier than anticipated. It holds a little straighter than a buzzz but it is stable enough to not turn over on you unless you command it to.

Lone Star Texas Ranger 172g alpha

I have not been able to obtain an Axiom Hex and have been trying other discs with the same numbers. I went though a number that were decent, but none that felt great. I had not tried any discs from Lone Star and figured I would give them a try, My first throw did a glided s-curve roughly 175 feet with a soft landing in the basket. I love the alpha plastic and this disc is probably the most comfortable mid-range I have thrown.

Disc - 174 Alpha Texas Ranger

Feel - The ranger feels like a miniature roc in my opinion. It is significantly shallower than a roc, and is smaller diameter as well. It has a bead, and is very shallow, if you fan grip, I would not expect to feel much difference for this disc but could cause issues for those who power grip mids

Flight - The ranger is an extremely workable, straight disc. I would recommend this disc to those who love the feel and flight of a beat in roc, but are worried about breaking it in the winter, the cost of constantly getting new rocs and beating them in, or their mids constantly changing in flight. If you are still stuck on cycling rocs, I would recommend putting one of these in the middle of that rotation so that you have a similar feel that is consistently straight and will last a long time in that stability.

Overall - A great straight mid range that may not have the feel to apply to everyone, but I would recommend people who like beaded mids but want a straight, buzzz like flight out of the box.

    Disc: 176g Bravo Texas Ranger

Feel: The Texas Ranger is a small diameter fairly shallow and flat midrange. The rim is beaded with a similar feel to a Roc. Overall it has a good hand feel.

Flight: My typical mid range distance is between 240 and 260 feet. My rated flight numbers: 5/5/0/1.5. For me when thrown flat the Texas Ranger held straight for most of the flight with no turn and decent fade. It does have decent glide. The flight is not quite the straight flying mid with some turn that I was hoping for.

Overall: If you have a bigger arm and prefer smaller diameter midranges that are beaded and relatively shallow, this could fly great for you. For me it doesn't have the desired flight and won't make the bag.

I lost my Hex and was pleased with some other Lonestar discs that I have tried like the Jack Rabbit and the Mad Cat. So I decided to try to the Texas Ranger which I thought would fly similar to the Hex based off the flight numbers.

It flies more like a Reactor or a Roc. That's fine though. I am not going to deduct from the rating because the flight numbers are not exactly right. The problem I have with the disc is how it feels in the hand. It feels like circumference inside the rim is smaller than other mid ranges that I like to throw which makes it awkward . I cannot spread out my fingers as wide as I usually like to when gripping the disc. This limitation of how much I can spread my fingers out makes it harder for me to spin the disc as well as other mid ranges. I just can't make this disc work for back hand shots.

Feels great in the hand. Was hoping to find a buzz flight but this seems to be like a new rocx3 for me right now. Still in the bag, just not the slot I thought it would be.

I have thrown a buzzz for the past few years, and when I threw this for the first time, I knew it would replace it. I found it to be way more comfortable, and it flew like I would want my point and shoot mid range to fly. For a straight mid I throw around 280-290. It had a slight turn while flat with no risk of turning over or moving too much. Then it had a soft fade at the end. Would highly recommend trying this disc.
