Awesome neutral fairway driver. I think the flight numbers are a bit off (I max out around 400' with a distance driver for reference). I think this is most comparable to a TL or TL3 depending on the dome of the one you get. Icon plastic seems to have more dome than pinnacle. Pinnacle seems to be a bit more overstable when new. This is a very workable disc that can hold a line and won't burn over if you give it height and/or a bit of hyzer. It's a great compliment to a rival or teebird as it feels nearly identical in hand but flies a bit more understable.

Icon plastic feels great. Some compare this to a leopard but a more accurate comp would be the TL. It doesn't fly understable for me, it's just stable. It will turn a bit then fade back to neutral. Perfect compliment for the the rival but if an understable fairway is what you want a fresh Patriot isn't quite that.

I stumbled upon this disc recently when I was at a play it again sports, and I was looking for a leopard 3. They didn't have any leopard 3's, but they had patriots, and I noticed that the patriot has the same flight numbers, so I figured why not just throw a patriot! I have been quite happy with it thus far. It feels great in the hand, and flies great. It is just understable enough to easily manipulate, but also not be too flippy. If you are looking for a straight to understable fairway driver, this is a great one

a Teebird with some turn. This disc feels super comfortable for smaller hands. If you are a Rec or Intermediate player, this disc should slot in nicely in your bag. This disc stays straight for 80% and then fades off like a Teebird. If you are a more advanced level player, this disc will turn and move to the right and then have some fight back to center. I would not recommend throwing it into a headwind as it can turn over. For newer player this disc will hyzer on a flat release and give you some controlled shots will still giving some forehand push. I have not tried many molds from Legacy, but this one is a winner.

I first bought this disc just because it was high visibility and on sale. I loose a lot of 7 speeds in the fall and winter so I try not to get too invested in these discs. However, I think I have found a new favorite! This plastic feels great. This particular disc feels stiffer than Star with more grip. New the flight is right between a Leopard3 and a Star Teebird. It's becoming a go-to disc for 275 feet to 375. I hope I don't loose it before it breaks in! Im looking forward to how this thing flies after a season or so. I may have to check out other Legacy offerings!

As everyone says, this is the legacy version of the Innova leopard3. What's great about this disc though, is you get the almost always predictable flight of the leopard3 in the superior legacy plastic. I have it in icon plastic and it's my literal bread, butter and whole meal : )

Can put it on the craziest of lines through the woods or rip a hyzer flip 350+! Definitely a must have.

Been wanting to try out some Legacy plastic for a while and finally got a chance to do so after hucking my Leopard into a swamp. Picked up a Patriot at 168g in Icon and I absolutely love everything about it. At the risk of sounding hyperbolic, this disc literally has everything that I look for in regards to feel and physical traits; grippy plastic, plastic that dyes well, flatter top, comfortable in my baby hands. Icon plastic is excellent and has quickly tied Gold Line as my second favorite Star-like plastic after K1. The best way I can describe it is a softer Star that's not nearly as slick and takes a dye beautifully. I wasn't expecting the dome to be so flat for the type of disc it is, but the flatter top feels great in my grip both BH and FH.

In regards to flight, it flies exactly how you would expect it to based on its flight numbers. Very similar to a Leopard3 and feels like a slower Falk. I've been throwing a NEO Essence as well while trying to figure out what I wanted to slot in, but I ended up liking both so much that I'm bagging both for the time being. Like most discs that aren't putters/mids, I wouldn't recommend it for someone brand new to the game, but if you're throwing mids well and want something faster then you can't really go wrong.

The Patriot is the first Legacy disc that I have tried. It is pretty similar to a Champion Leopard3 that I had a while back with just a tad less stability. I really like how it feels in the Icon plastic. I use this for turnovers and hyzer-flips or even rollers. It is a great disc in the woods for little touchy shots where you need a very straight flight and a decent amount of distance. I quite liked this disc and I’m looking forward to trying some more Legacy plastic!

If you have never gotten a mystery disc with your order from here, you really owe it to yourself to try it sometime. I was in the market for an understable fairway driver just to diversify my bag. For a one in ten chance, I did pretty good and was lucky enough to come away with this one. The other reviews are spot on, this is a slightly faster Innova Leopard. I also got a heavy-weight, which makes the wind less of a concern. I feel bad now, because generally I hadn't experimented with manufacturers outside of Innova, Latitude 64, Dynamic or otherwise. I wouldn't say I was too 'good' for them, I just hadn't tried it. This is a brilliant little disc. A perfectly rated fairway driver with a comfy plastic? I'm sold. I can't wait to branch out to other manufacturers discs.

    PROS: Great beginner fairway driver.

CONS: I am thrilled to say that I can't think of any.

Basically an Innova Leopard in better feeling plastic. Great controllable driver for beginners as well as very useful for more advanced players. I carry one for touch shots in the woods, hyzer flip to straight, as well as longer annys.

The Patriot is another amazing disc by Legacy. It's the brother to the Rival, being a super glidey, straight flying disc. The rim is perfect in the hand and incredibly accurate. Pick this mold up and be blown away by its ability.

I really liked throwing the Patriot. I would say it has a nice stable, and neutral flight to start with, but you can also throw nice turnover shots and some soft hyzers. I would compare the flight to a JLS, it will turn a little and fade back some. I was getting nice distance with this disc, consistently in the 350 range. The plastic felt great. If you are in the market for a fairway driver, give the Patriot a shot.

This is a disc I clicked right away with. The Patriot just spoke to me in the hands. Really the first disc I could repeat a nice controlled BH anny as a FH dominant player. Fast forward to now and I bag 2; an Icon for flip ups/ anny shots and new Pinnacle (very stable) for a trust worthy mashing with lots of forward fade, but still with the control of a 7 spd. This is an epic woods disc paired with a Rival or Teebird. Numbers are spot on for me. I think stabilities generally go Icon< Legend< Newer Pinnacle, IMO. My favorite disc in the Legacy family!

The Patriot's number make it seem like a Leopard. It's not. it goes way farther than a Leopard and is a bit more overstable. I throw just over 300 ft consistently and this is my farthest throwing disc. I throw higher speed discs but with the flex line the Patriot makes at my power level it goes just as far and sometimes farther. It's not so understable that I've ever turned and burned it. In fact, I can throw it forehand for a great straight shot if I keep it under 80% power. When thrown with the right amount of anhyzer it will turn right and flatten out without ever fading back left.

I have 2 Patriots, both in Icon plastic but one is much softer than the other. not sure why, it could just be the runs. I prefer the bendier one.

Say goodbye to your Leopards and hello to the Patriot! L A S E R B E A M S for days through your most technical wooded course. This is also a great beginner disc due to the slight understability. The Patriot really flies true to its flight numbers in Icon, Pinnacle, and Legend. Glow Patriots have this very sneaky late turn that I have yet to find in another disc. I can't help but recommend this disc to all new players and experienced players alike. Pair a Patriot with a Rival and you'll have your fairway slots covered!

I found a patriot at a local course and threw it on a few holes, I liked it. Returned the disc to it's rightful owner and ended up picking one up for myself a bit later. After playing a few rounds at a pretty wooded/technical course with the Patriot, I've decided it will definitely be staying in my bag to replace my L3. The two feel similar, but like another user said, the Patriot is flatter and provides a much more predictable, straighter FH drive for me.

If you're searching a nice understable control driver for your bag, I would definitely check out the Patriot. Icon plastic feels great to me.

I have thrown pinnacle, sparkle, and icon. I stuck with icon and sparkle in the bag. Easy fairway to throw straight. Has decent glide and can be thrown on various angles with ease. This is my understable fairway driver. Goes well with a Rival.

This disc is why I love Legacy. Steve takes the discs he loves and fixes what he doesn't like as much. This is the Leo3 but with a flat dome profile. So it's forehand friendly, but still glidey.

The Icon Patriot is a really good disc.  I like the Icon plastic, good and firm and feels good in the hand.  The Patriot flies true to its numbers and is stable to understable, especially after a little bit of use and seasoning.  Comes in handy when straight to turnover shots are needed on the course.  The Icon Patriot is my first Legacy disc, and because of it I'll probably see what else Legacy has.

The patriot is a very controllable understable fairway driver, great for longer straight and turn over shots.  When I need distance beyond what my mids can do and other fairway drivers, I will go to the patriot.  Even though this disc is typically ranked at a speed 7 disc, it can out distance the leopard and teebird and many other drivers in its speed range.  It is very glidey and will have a slower turn on it so that if you throw it flat, it will have a slow turn to the right (RHBH) making for a more controllable anhyzer shot.  When thrown on a hyzer it can flip up and fly straight very nicely.

You could compare this disc to the Latitude 64 saint, the saint is a little faster and I find it to be a little less controllable.

Like most understable discs, it doesn't do great in a head wind, its better for tailwind, right to left winds, and low wind scenarios.  I've had this disc for about 6 months and it is still doing pretty well after beating in a little bit.

The Patriot has become a staple in my bag. I had been in search of an understable fairway driver after losing a beat DX Teebird. I had never clicked with the Leopard and had traded out my Teebirds for Rivals so the Patriot seemed the best compliment. The Icon plastic is truly some of the best plastic out there. Very grippy and flexy, which is suprising because I tend to not like flexible discs. Due to its incredilbe glide and straight flight, I throw the Patriot on most of my teeshots.

I just put the Patriot in the bag and for now, its not going anywhere.  I got it as part of a players pack last month, and chose this mold because I was looking for a replacement for my lost Underworld.  Much to my liking, it was an instant replacement.  It flies the same as my seasoned Underworld, may a tic less stable.  This is my first Legacy disc and I've got to say, the Icon plastic feels awesome.  Very durable and very grippy.  I'd say the turn on this is closer to a -3 though.  Maybe in a different plastic it would be a -2, but mine turns and turns when thrown flat.  Fade is minimal at best.  It doesn't hook up and go left, not that kind of fade.  Once it stops turning, it sort of pans back out and goes more forward.  If you havent thrown and Underworld, I would compare this to a well worn in Star Leopard.   Beginners should expect a very predictable straight flight, probably with not much lateral movement.  Its also sneaky long.  It out distances most other fairway drivers for me, except the WS Seer (which I did a review on as well).  The Patriot is very consistent, and doesnt need to be worn it to get it to fly right.  Its a great option for someone looking to replace a seasoned under stable fairway driver, as the Patriot could be exactly what you want, right off the shelf.

I have tried a Leopard and a River, and I like this one the most. It is shaped a little flatter and with a smaller rim than the leopard and river, in my opinion, but it gets me more distance than either. Icon plastic is also one of the best feeling plastics I've ever felt.

I have a 175 Yellow Icon Patriot and this is without a doubt the most controlled and versatile fairway driver I have throw. By manipulating the amount of hyzer you put on it you can get everything from huge sweeping hyzers to hyzer flips to turnovers and anhyzers. You can really crank it on a hyzer and get it to flip out to 400 feet, which is just awesome to watch. I like that it can cover such a large degree of lines because this disc gives me a lot of control and I like that I don't have to disc up from it on most courses.

I have a 175 Icon Patriot. Everyone else seems to throw this disc good, but me. I did throw one good with this disc today, but I can't hyzer flip it correctly. I guess some more throws with it will help out and maybe I'll end up liking it in the future. It does seem to go pretty far for a fairway driver, though!
