I didn't know it but the patriot was the understable fairway driver I've been looking for since I first started playing. I throw these things alongside my teebirds so I always have that workhorse slot filled. I've been told that it's an old TL mold so the consistency in the rims is nice for me. Feels like a teebird with a flatter top, flies most closely to like a leo3. I always felt like the leopard was too understable and unpredictable in premium plastic, it's great for learning to throw drivers with but once I started gaining arm speed and it started seasoning I just feel like I outgrew it. I picked up my first patriot in Icon plastic and instantly loved it. It was what I wanted the leopard to be all along. A hyzer flip machine with some stability and reliability. This thing flies, you might be surprised with how much distance AND control you can get out of this thing. A really great disc for the player that has some experience with understable fairways (e.g. leopard) and wants to take it up a notch in terms of speed.

I will probably update this rating at some point but the Patriot I received was absolutely in no way an understable disc. Maybe its just this particular disc but I got this expecting a faster Leopard3 and got a slower Thunderbird. My rating currently purely reflects what my expectations for this disc were and what I needed in my bag, not how much I actually like the disc I received.

I found this to be VERY similar to my leopard3. The only thing I do like better about it that the rim is wider and I think the same width as Teebird whereas leopard3 is smaller. I liked this for consistency because it makes a great pair with the Teebird for a fairway driver setup. They will feel more similar than leopard3 does because the rims are super similar. Great disc. If you like Leopard3 but want nicer feeling plastic here you go!

Every company makes this disc with this flight rating 7/5/-2/1.  The most famous is Innova's Leopard. The pinnacle plastic is super gummy and stiff which really makes it fantastic for cold weather playing and rainy days. I think it flies very similarly to all the others in this class and doesn't stand out with one exception: it already comes broken in from the factory.  It really flies exactly as advertised and hyzers perfectly right out of the box, and gains a slight amount of understablity over the first few months and holds that for a while. If your leopard is too stable, try this.

I have thrown leopards forever and love the flight, when it gets broken in. The patriot comes that way, the way you'd expect a new leopard to fly. Patriots are very straight new with a pinch of high speed turn and very mild fade. Excellent for forehands. Give some spin and it goes very straight with nice fade.

I'm not sure what run of pinnacle patriot I have, but it looks dated and started out like a rival. It has beaten in very slowly, but now it's very predictable for wooded shots and flip up bombers. The rim is a great size and is comfortable for touch shots and high power shots. Highly recommend for any skill level.

I think the Patriot is Legacy's take on the FD or River. It has a perfect hand feel, and excels at hyzerflip to straight shots. It is a great compliment to the Rival. It is worth a try for anyone because you get a great thrower with the beat plastic available.

This disc is great. When I first purchased this it was great for hyzer flip to flat straight shots, and was thrown flat to get some turn out of it. But mine has beat in to be more stable. So now it is my go to tunnel shot disc, and pairs well with the rival.

This is a great fairway driver. It glides for days and is pretty long for a 7 speed. Super easy to throw also. The flight I got out of it is pretty close to what the flight chart shows just a little more stable. I could give it some hyzer and it would flip up flat and go dead straight with a powered down landing just slightly to the left. I would throw it with slight anhyzer and it would hold it the whole flight which is great for me as I don't have a flick and could use that shot. But when putting anny on it I couldn't really throw it full force or it would turn and burn into a cut roller, but I think that was more on me over torquing my wrist. I have this in the cheap excel plastic first to try it out and loved it and got it in pinnacle and its amazing in that plastic, more of a 7/6/1.25/1 I would say.

I absolutely love this disc for all of my "need to go straight" fairway drives. Kicked leopards, leopard3's, and fd's out of the bag. A beat in pinnacle patriot is an absolute gem in the bag. This disc is also great for when you need to maximize straight distance from a standstill shot.

Not as understable as I was lead to believe, but I got this disc in the Pinnacle plastic - expecting it will take some time to beat in a bit.  I am only docking this disc because it's supposed to replace a Leopard - and throwing a fresh Champ leopard side by side, this disc is longer and more stable.   Hopefully only a couple months of beating it in will get me that turn I need.  Disc feels amazing though - Mine is somewhat gummy with a beautiful opaque color to it.  Much better than the see through color of my "pink" champ leopard I ordered with it.

A local disc salesman sold me a Pearly White Pinnacle Patriot when I told him I was having trouble in technical courses. Right off the bat, I went from having 0-1 birdies (I am a complete beginner) a round, to 1-3 birdies a round. I feel like it has opened up my game to so many new shots, and has provided me with a consistency that I couldn't find with other discs. I can Sky Anhyzer with it, throw tight tunnels with it, and get around trees with a little fade at the end.

    Great, reliable disc.

I picked up one of these in the pinnacle plastic and surprisingly fell in love with it. Great straight flyer with reliable turn for tight courses. Would definitely recommend the patriot! 5/5 stars!

Great disc. The pinnacle plastic comes out in flat tops and they are effortless flyers. I almost aced with 1 about 280' at the Seminole Oklahoma course so there was wind. I piped 1 throw a narrow gap of trees, flipped up straight didn't hold turn line but held the straight line. Flew like a buzzz that's faster. Great feel too. Definitely gonna keep my eyes out for more in the pinnacle plastic!

The Pinnacle Patriot is a thing of Beauty! Love it about as much as the Rival.  7 speed disc but can handle up to nearly an 11 speed throw.  Perfect for shots 275 to 335 but you can certainly get it 350ft.  Low fade disc but always seems to fade back trusty . Typically you want to  Hyzer Flip and it goes straight effortlessly.  This disc is so durable as well , you can play once or twice a week for 6 months and it will still look virtually new as long as you are not hitting  a bunch of rocks all the time.  It handles trees really well.  Feels amazing in the hand as well.  I like the feel of the first run pinnacle that was a little firmer but they are all great.  I love the Icon as well i bag them both but its slightly less durable, a little more flippy and slightly less glide. That makes it useful to have both as they come in handy for different shots.  I use the icon when i want more turn or need to keep it lower under trees.

*Update : After using this disc for about 2 years I still really like it and its a great Straight to slightly understable disc.  In my opinion its just a Better Leopard. *

I picked up a Patriot after months of lurking.  I had used a Leopard, XL, and F7 as an understable fairway driver in the past.

I wanted to switch to Leopards again, so I picked one up.  But it ended being much more HSS and LSS than I had wanted.

So, I finally picked up a Patriot. Pinnacle, 171g. Flight numbers I would put as 7/5/-2/1

It flew exactly like an understable fairway driver should.  I really like the feel of the design and the plastic as well.  Complements a Teebird very well as

I found it to be more-driver-ish than the Leopard.  It hyzer-flips nicely, still has some LSS to bring it back in the end.  Throws nice straight S shots or anhyzers that hold.  Some players may even find it a go-to fairway disc that can do it all.   For me, it's for sure understable.  Its not flippy turn and burn, it's just what you'd expect/want from an US fairway disc.  So, I like it a lot.  I will try out a Leo3 in the future but, the Patriot is a solid US Fairway disc.  I recommend it

**Update: I did pick up a Leo3.  It is a very different flight. The Leo3 is slower and a little more HSS.  It does a long smooth anhyzer well.  But for the purposes of an US fairway driver, I do prefer the Patriot

I love this disc for tight lines.  Goes dead straight with a slight fade at the end.  Not as much fade as the Pinnacle Rival.  Very reliable with a slow break in period.  Definitely recommend for all levels!

My disc is a yellow opaque 171g. The plastic doesn't really seem like anything special to me. It kind of feels like a stiffer more shiny DX. I see other reviewers compare this disc to a Leopard, but I don't really feel the same way. I have a DX Leopard that I love and throw really well, and I couldn't get the same result with this disc. I have been playing about 9 months, and it could possibly be the way I am throwing it. It seemed like no matter how I threw it, it would always have a steep dive left and right into the ground. I feel like it should have been flying further than it was. I tried dialing back power, more power, snap (which I finally figured out how to do), but nothing was working for me. I'll probably put this into my storage box and give it a try again in a few months. I would say this isn't a beginner friendly disc.
