The Legacy Clutch is a fantastic straight-flying stable putter. This disc was designed with the intent of reducing end of flight low speed fade. This disc is great for sinking shots, and makes a good short-range approach disc.

I love the Discraft Magnet. They are inexpensive and plentiful. I wanted one in KC Pro plastic but that was not going to happen. After a little research I found what I wanted in the Legacy Clutch in Protege plastic. I bought 2 from Infinite and immediately took 2 strokes off my game. Confidence is everything in putting.

"If you throw it, you will upshot..."

Sooo....I almost got rid of this one. Had absolutely zero experience with Legacy discs before this and was pretty put off by how chunky it felt. No matter how I putt with it, it felt wrong, and the plastic felt... ...I dunno, does "unfriendly" make sense? More often than not, I'd bag an MVP Atom, a DD Warden, Innova Aviar or a DGA Gumbputt instead.

"If you throw it, you will upshot..."

Then an unfortunate series of events led to some foot surgery, and some time away from the sport. When I healed up enough to be hasty with activities again, I remembered lots of pros recommend starting out with putters due to the low power demand and their propensity to teach release angles.

    "If you thr--"

    Yo.

    "... ..."

    Done?

    "... ...yes."

In my condition, I couldn't generate power, but *could* spin like a record (baby), so I started bagging putters...took it to a few familiar courses and hobbled round. That's when the Clutch really caught on.

Spin this thing. Throw it like you would a midrange or control driver. It is SUPER stupid laser straight--fan grip, power grip, or something in between. Angles typically hold true, though I find it tends to slice deep on my normal anhyzer angle; for those, I tend to get better results if I snap it from half-reachback, just below my left earlobe, downward with lots of spin & this weird "Elvis leg" hip-snap. That way yields an almost telepathic flex to the target. Innova's legendary Mako3 is less predictable than this puppy--at least at about 3500' elevation, anyway. It eats wind and shits chains.

I can't yet speak for the other plastics, but I can say the Protege Clutch is one beast of an approach disc/throwing putter, just not so great for push putts. Get one if you like the Innova Rhyno, L64 Caltrop, DD Slammer, Axiom Envy, etc. I will gladly tell anyone to study with this disc--take it to your favorite courses--the ones you could score low blindfolded; it will teach you *something* you haven't really addressed yet. I've gained an average ~60´ of distance on drives and a TON more accuracy since I started throwing this disc, and even more angle control. I doubt it's anything but what the disc lent to my rounds, so I can confidently state it can help any skill level debug their way to greater gains.

The Clutch feels like a Magnet to me, but I would say that its flight was a bit more stable. The feel of this putter did not jive with me for putting, but I really liked throwing this disc. You can put it on just about any line, and it flies great. Not a headwind putter though. Great disc from Legacy.

This review is specifically for my twin 174g white Protege Clutches.

I've been putting with these Clutches for about a month and a half now, and I love them. I've been a BB Aviar guy for a long time but could never find the sweet spot for spin putting. I've found that the more OS putters, like BB Aviars, I'm able to push putt well, but not spin putt. The opposite has been true for for me less stable putters.

The Clutch is a perfect medium. It feels great in the hand. There is a significant bead, but the shoulder sort of curves inward to it in a weird way that is surprisingly comfortable. And the protege plastic is hard without being slick. I spush these on a hyzer angle and they flip up to flat and coast to the basket. On longer putts, they will typically fade back out a bit at the end, and they rarely turn over, even if I put some heat on them.

The glide of the protege plastic is tremendous. Where I might have had trouble with putters dropping into the cage before, these frequently hold the line longer than I expect. As a result, I'm making a lot more putts and feeling a lot more confident in the 20-30' range than ever before.

I knocked off a star because I don't really like throwing these clutches. They're sort of a one trick pony for me. They putt great, but they get a little squirrelly when I use them for upshots or drives, particularly into any headwind. I've got an Icon Clutch that's a little better for throwing and Glow Clutch that's much better, but it feels like I sacrifice more glide than I want in those plastics, so I still drive BB Aviars and a Nova.

All in all, I'm very very happy putting with the Protege Clutch. If you're looking for a putter you can spin with fantastic glide, I highly recommend. I'd say the number are a little off, as I get noticeable turn on drives and even slower putts. I'd rate these 3 4 -1 1.

Best Putter on the market. Driving, putting or approach throws.   Both Protege and Gravity plastic are the best.  I went through the whole try every putter journey and finally found the Clutch.  I get sad thinking of all the time wasted not using a Clutch. throws so nice and grabs the chains really well.  It lands like a pillow when you miss so it really gives you the confidence to be aggressive on putts you need to make.  Feels great in the hand screams you are gonna make it.  I have 5 clutchs in my bag.  One icon, One glow, two protege and a sparkle gravity blend. The proteges i primarily putt with and would be all i need for other shots as well.  I use the icon for short hyzer flip drives and turn throws it skids the most. The glow is similar to the icon but flips up easier and lifts a little more.  I use the sparkle gravity on long putts with danger because they bite and grab like they have breaks if you miss.  Every time i see a friend missing putts i am like here try this and then they make the putt they missed several times.  They always say oh i was warmed up by then on the put yet they hadn't made it yet.  I'm sure it wasn't cause it feels amazing flies great and inspires aggressive confidence. Some people just can't let go of their old discs.  Get a clutch.

If you put spin on your putt, this is a good disc. It doesn't have a lot of float, but it flies straight toward the chains. I have adjusted my putt to be more of a lob, and thus had to bench the Clutch. I still take it with me for the frustrated times when I just want to let ever throw rip.

Solid putter! My go to putter within 50 feet. Great glide and is a must for those who may have used magnets before. GO LEGACY!
