The Latitude 64 Macana originally debuted as part of the players pack in the 2015 Trilogy Challenge. This beaded putt-and-approach disc is a superb driving putter and has been described as a slightly more shallow Dagger. This is a straight, stable putter that glides well and can handle a decent amount of power.

    Retro Details

Latitude 64 Retro plastic was designed for players who wanted to be reminded of the old school plastic from disc golf in the 80's. This baseline plastic easily "breaks in" and is very affordable.

Not a bad approach disc but I did not like the way that it acted while putting. This putter went off to the right first before fading. The Trilogy plastic was really hard which contributed to many spit outs during the Trilogy. Because or the movement to the right I would miss the baskets to the right because there was not enough fade to get it back to the chains. A good starter disc but it is not for me.

The Retro Macana from the Trilogy Challenge in 2015 is an incredible driving and approach putter for me.  I'm not a fan of it as a putting putter but I use it for a vast majority of my approach shots.  You can put it on any angle and this disc just holds that line until a very slight but predictable fade.  As a putting putter I am a Judge fan and don't see that changing any time soon.  I have made some flicks with the Macana that have amazed others not believing that I just flicked a putter to make that shot. This is one of the only discs that I actually have backups in my bin just in case of loss.

Its a putter, its awesome, it flies very straight, and it is glidy!

The grip of this putter is good, the rim is a little deep, but a good grip. I use turbo putt  with this wonderful disc. I can putt with great precision from 15 feet and I can make a putt from 30 feet on a good shot, usually I miss and overshoot by a little. This is an excellent disc for turbo putting, it glides for a long time and has dependable curves within the flight.

With push putting this putter for me is a little too overstable for me. I don't get enough power behind it for it to fly as straight as I would want it to.

As a driver putter I get the most distance out of the macana than any other putter that I have measured. It is a good neutral stability for drives, but slightly more stable; as such I can get this disc to follow any line that I want it to. The disc is a year old and as such it is beat in and less stable than when it started out.

This putter is my go to putter, my putting game has significantly improved from once I started putting with this disc, I love it.

I really enjoy using the Macana, and think it's a great disc. I have only used the Trilogy Challenge stamped Retro plastic version, max weight or close. I really like the feel of this disc and plastic, the Retro plastic feels like it's somewhere between Zero Hard and Zero Medium. I wasn't super into this disc as a putting putter, but really like it for driving.

For putting, it worked for me, but it wasn't anything super special. I am also more of a beadless guy. However, the Macana's driving capabilities are stellar! I throw around 400'. I can rip this disc pretty hard and it just flies strait with a good amount of glide before finishing left. While doing some putter comparisons, the Macana performed very similar to the Shield and Wizard, while being somewhat similar to the Warden and Dagger (all in similar feeling baseline plastics). I found that the Warden had a little more glide for me, and I could get some more distance out of it. The Dagger was very inconsistent for driving in the little bit of wind that was present, but had the ability to fly similar to the Macana. All of these putters were great strait flying putters, with a similar finish.

If I were to carry only one driving putter, it would be a disc like the Macana. Instead I carry 2-3, and normally try to fill spots on opposite ends of the spectrum of stability. I normally carry something almost completely neutral, like a Judge, and something more stable, like a Harp or Sinus. I would consider the Macana quite neutral as well, but it provided me with more stability, straiter flight from a flat release, and better wind resistance. The Macana is a very useful disc that I would really recommend trying.

I played in my first Trilogy Challenge yesterday in Rock Hill SC.

As a driving putter it worked pretty well for being a brand new disc to me.  Plastic is very durable and this putter is beaded.  The rim depth is shallow to me but the disc was stable and could handle power without turning over.

As a putter it was just not working out for me past 10ft.  Nearly all my 20-30 ft putts rimmed the top edge of the basket and did not make it in.  It seamed to have no float at all and had to be thrown harder and higher than I am use to.  I had to aim very high on the basket as it seemed to just fall out of the sky with low power.  If thrown harder and if I missed it went pretty far past the basket.  Seen it have a tendency to stand up on missed shots and roll away.

My main putter is a Vibram Sole in medium plastic.  I am use to the soft touch, ability to float, and grippy surface.

The Macana was hard and had no flex.  I did not like it due to rounded edge as it was not comfortable with my index finger.

I used this disc at our local Trilogy Challenge and didn't find anything that would make me run right out and load up my bag with more. I don't like the rim depth nor the bead. It didn't feel good in my hand and didn't fly any better than my current putter. My take is at best it's an average putter.

What a putter, I would say that it is comparable to an innova Aviar but with a latitude 64 stamp. This disc is stable with a fade and is able to hold that stability when thrown with some power for a long shot. If you don’t need to throw a high speed driver, don’t. This is the kind of putter you can throw off the tee box and then pick it up and throw it into the basket. This is a great throwing putter and a putting putter.

I got my Macana at the 2015 Trilogy challenge I instatlly fell in love with it I was able to make those 20ft puts that I had never been able to make before whenever I am worried about a put I grab my macana and throw it in if there was one thing that I would change about the macana it would be that it was not so stiff this disc has zero flex which means you get skip outs more often but if you hit center chains it usley falls in this is also my off the tee putter since it has higher glide than most putters

Played in a Trilogy Challenge and recieved a bright yellow 174 Macana.  This was easily my most used disc of the challenge (very wooded course).  I really like the feel of the retro plastic, and it seems to be able to take a beating.  Off the tee the Macana is amazing!  Floats for days and never runs too far from the basket.  Feels very similar in the hand to my Wizards, but the Macana has taken over as my go to driving putter.

I tested this disc prior to playing in a Trilogy Challenge and after only two throws(drives), I immediately knew that it was taking over as the my main driving putter. I have since kicked out one of my Shields and this thing is almost full-time driving duty putter. It flies dead straight with virtually no turn and little fade out to about 300-350(my max driving distance is about 450). I love this thing. I haven't used it much as a putter so I can't speak to it's abilities there but the Retro plastic is very good for putting as it has fantastic grip when dry and wet.

The Macana is a great all purpose putter and worked well at the Trilogy Challenge. Initially the Retro plastic was a little stiff for my liking, but during my second round I really got a good feel for it and made nearly every putt. I still think I would prefer this mold in a classic soft for putting, but the Retro plastic is a good feel, and very inexpensive.

As a driving putter the Macana also works very well. This disc is nice and stable, floats well and stays fairly straight. The Macana is an excellent disc and I'm sure it will be very popular once its released  in additional plastics.
