The Fuse is one of the most dynamic midrange discs on the market. This disc is larger than the average disc in both diameter and height and can weigh up to 178 grams. The Fuse has an understable/stable flight path and can hold curves and lines with very minimal fade. This is a great disc for weaving through trees and obstacles.

One of the first midranges I ever threw, and I still bag it to this day. Gets a great straight flight on nearly any line I put it on. Great disc for beginners, will fly straight and glide for days.

Fun to throw! Flight is an effortless turnover when thrown flat that wont die into the ground for a moderate arm speed. Good for hyzer flips but may need to be beat it a bit before its consistent. 6 glide is no joke. Highly recommend especially to beginners!

Every player should have a Fuse! It is super beginner friendly, but still something that even the best should bag. Love this for straight woods shots, as it doesn't requrie a lot of power to go far (6 glide is accurate!).

    In conclusion: Buy Fuse :)

I'm a huge fuse fan. I bought one on a whim and fell in love immediately. It will turn initially and then settle on a line for the rest of the flight. It's gorgeous on those long slow backhand turnover lines!

Currently my favorite mid range. What I love about this disc is that it is very accurate. It flies incredibly straight and often hits the target for me.  Also due to the high glide, it is very versatile. This disc is excellent for shaping lines in the woods. It even works great for long putts. Not the best mid range for fighting the wind but otherwise it is fantastic

Love, Love, Love this disc. I've had two both in the Opto plastic and they are incredible. It is a fantastic beginner mid that will hyzerflip to straight. Very, very little finish at the end. I use this pretty much anytime I have to shoot a tunnel shot. It is one of the most reliable discs in my bag. For a beginner, this disc will really teach you how to throw a mid and will hold any angle you release it on.

This is the disc that has been missing in my bag. The fuse is a slightly understable disc that is not understable enough to usually turn into a roller but for me it will hold the anhyzer line the entire way when thrown flat. For people, without a forehand the fuse is a great disc to hold a line right for a long time when throwing right hand backhand. Even if you do have a forehand the slow turn that just continues and comes down soft is a shot that is hard to hit on a forehand. If you throw the fuse on hyzer it will flip up to flat and glide with little to no fade at the end. If you throw on hyzer definitely get it up in the air and let it glide. Because of the slight understability beginners could have a ton of fun with this disc it may get more distance than you would think and you can learn to hyzer flip. I throw an Opto fuse and it has done really well for me not beating in.

    Disc: 180g Opto Fuse

Feel: This is really interesting, this disc has a rather aggressive wing with a relatively flat top and it looks fast. Not what I was expecting from an understable disc. I was really wanting to like this one.

Flight: Maybe because I was so use to Rocs and hyzer flips I couldn't really get this disc to work for my game. I was expecting it to turn over but it was very shapeable and would hold the line. I eventually found that if you really work on your form and learn "slow is smooth and smooth is fast" the Fuse will go right at whatever you are aiming at on a frozen rope. This started to become my approach disc for anything less than 200ft. You just throw it right at the pin and it floats there. But that all changed when the *WIND* nation attacked...

Conclusion: This is a very good disc, and one that I would give to every beginner that would play with me. They loved it. However for my personal game, I enjoy playing a lot of windy and wooded courses and I am a certified Roc-Head so my play is to toss my flippy Roc. I am sure this would fit nicely to many folks bags.

This review is for the opto X version of the Fuse. (John E McCray signature)

I wanted to love this disc, because I love John E! I wanted it to be the Lat 64 version of my Bounty or Evidence, but it ended up even in the X version to be a little more understable than I was looking for. Either way, I was able to support John E with my purchase and that was cool at least.

    Disc - 177 Opto Fuse

Feel - The Fuse feels incredible in the hand. It is a bit deep and at least the one I have has a bit of dome. Some may find it comfortable for forehands but I personally don't believe so and your forehand must be incredibily clean to throw this disc properly on a forehand.

Flight - The fuse is one of the best understable mids on the market. It has an incredible slow flip and turn unlike many other understable mids I have tried. For the amount of glide this disc has, it is extremely controllable. This disc is great because it is not so flippy that you can't get it to hold a hyzer or fly straight. I believe this disc can benefit any player as I know many struggle to find the right disc to fill this slot in their bag and I think this is a great option.

Overall - One of the best understable mids on the market that many would benefit from trying.

The fuse is one of my favorite discs that I've thrown. I have one that I have been throwing for about a year that is very flippy. I also have two newer ones that are dead straight. The fuse is excellent for hyzer flip mid range shots as well as a great utility disc once it is beaten in. It doesn't take a lot of power to access the flip so it can be useful for beginnings as well as for more advanced players when you need to throw a touchy shot. I use my beat in fuse all the time for shaping shorter shots through the woods as well as a flippy escape option when I am in a tricky situation.

Great disc that, for better or worse, goes EXACTLY where you throw it. Very reliable and I think great for helping with form for newer players. I don't throw this when there are obstacles between me and the hole, but for a midrange shot that you want to go straight at it's the best in my bag.

This is my favorite mid in my bag currently. It can do everything you need it to, pop it on a baby hyzer and it'll fly straight for great distance, it is super glidey, which also makes it touchy sometimes but once you learn the release angle it is money

I don't know why it took so long to bag the Fuse, but I'm so happy that I do now. It's hands down the straightest midrange I've thrown. It can hold an anhyzer line all the way to the ground. It will give you lots of glide and gently fall to the ground with virtually no fade. If you're a beginner this disc will get you the straight shots you're looking for. If you're an advanced player, this disc will give you the straight shots you've been looking for.

Beginner friendly. Glidy but understable, so you have to throw it smooth.

Holds anhyzers very well without turning and burning.

The rim is a preference thing, I didn't like it that much.

Okay, we're back to Latitude 64 discs that I don't like. Stable midranges and understable midranges are very tricky for me, save for two or three molds so far. This review is a bit of a dilemma for me, as I'm sure its fine for some players, and I have to excuse a personal bias against these types of discs. Having said that I just don't care for it and I would urge for anyone reading one of these reviews to keep in mind that the flight path is more just a juke to the right for a RHBH throw and no real course correction. If I were to get one, I would pick a heavy weight and pray it doesn't flip quite as easy. My recommended discs in this things stead would be an R-Pro Skeeter or M4 from Prodigy. For better or worse there are just better discs for this purpose out there.

PROS: Depending on taste, can be a good straight ish flying midrange.

CONS: There are better discs out there, but keep in mind understable midranges aren't really my jam.

I'd say that the fuse is really similar to the swan 1 reborn in alot of ways. If you add any sort of power to the disc, its going to flip. I love it for tight woods shots where I need a slight flip up, and have it go dead straight. When my wife joins me on the course, I have her throw the Fuse and she is able to get alot of distance with it. If you are just starting out this a great disc for you.

Opto X Fuse (2019 team Johnny McCray edition)

I love this disc. The optoX is the second fuse I've had in my bag and it is slightly different than the original; overall I'd say very similar but the optoX has a tiny bit less turn making it seem more stable but ultimately it's the straightest flying disc I've ever thrown. It's taken me a long while to pull it correctly, but it's super satisfying releasing this on a fair hyzer and decent power and watching it flip to flat and then glide for days DEAD STRAIGHT. Seriously with a proper pull this disc loves to go straight, maybe the slightest hint of turn and the slightest hint of fade, for 250+- feet with the easiest of effort. For a beginning the Fuse might be a bit tricky as it is not forgiving of poor form. Too much anhyzer (or not enough hyzer) and you try to power it... it's not going to necessarily turn over into a roller, but it's going to turn right and NEVER come back. You also have to be very careful about downhills as this loves to drift left it right like a snowboard if you don't throw it compensating for the downgrade. Overall this is a fantastic disc and possibly the perfect choice for when you need to A to B with the narrowest of gaps ahead of you.

A great disc for beginners, albeit touchy for faster arms, the Fuse does almost exactly what it's flight numbers indicate, though I might say it's a tad more understable. It has a ton of glide, noticeable turn, and practically no fade. It's a great disc for throwing a left-fading shots RHBH and will go very straight if you get the angle right.

In the hand, it's a little domey which adds to its glide. 4/5 because it does what it does well, but is not quite the "do-all" that other straight mid's are (Buzzz, Roc, Mako, etc).

But I would definitely suggest this to try if you're a newer thrower and are looking to learn straight or turnover shots.

My Fuse is in Opto Plastic. The Fuse is a straight flyer that has glide for days. I found myself using my Fuse in the woods, off the tee, for upshots, and even for some C2 putts. It has a very comfortable feel to it, is easy to use, and I've found that I can reach for it in nearly any situation.

The Fuse will fade a little at the end of its flight, as such I've rated the fade as a 0.5. The thing that I like about the Fuse is that if you throw it hard it'll flip, but hold the line and demonstrate a smooth glide. Also as a consequence of this, the Fuse promotes finesse and control to yield ideal flights.

I purchased the Fuse to compare with my Innova Star Foxbat (same flight numbers) which for whatever reason just didn't seem to fly consistently.  I'm primarily a LHBH player, only throwing forehand as a last result.  My first throw with the Fuse into a slight headwind (5mph steady with gusts to around 10) far exceeded my expectations!  Released on a slight hyzer, about 80% power it flipped to flat and just went dead straight a measured 295 feet. No climb into the wind and didn't seem the least bit affected by it at all.  I then tried a few anny releases and it simply held the angle, no turning and burning and settled flat, so no cut rolls!  Into the wind distance was right about 300 feet regardless of release angle.  Downwind with a smooth controlled flat release the Fuse went dead straight for 330 feet with a very gentle fade to the right at the very end of the flight.  It put the Foxbat to shame!  Standstill throws for me are an easy 275 to 280 regardless of how I shape the shot.  For a beginner this disc would be a great choice as that glide will keep the disc in the air with ease.  I would say that out of the box with no wind my disc flight numbers are probably 5 6 0 0 kind of like a faster more glidey Dart that will hold whatever angle you put on it.  As the Opto plastic beats in I figure that it will fly exactly to the published numbers.   This is a very versatile disc,  and I think there is a spot in every bag for it, so give it a try!

Very fun disc. If you've struggled to get a hyzer flip, this would be your go-to disc to start figuring out what that feels like. I can release it on a strong hyzer line and some get snap to get it to flip to straight or release it on a slight hyzer with snap to get it to turn over for a right turn. For my forehand throws it's too flippy for me to trust, but I've got it dialed in for backhands. Good for throws 250ft and in on a straight line or rightward curve line.

The Gold Line Fuse was the disc that taught me how to throw back hand anhyzers and hyzer flips as i progressed and learned. It is a great beginner disc as well as a great staple to have in the bag at all times. Very shapeable disc. As i stated it hyzer flips with ease and can get HUGE anhyzer shots out of it with it's glide! It glides for days if you give it a chance! Great disc for tight fairways or wooded courses! Gold Line was a bit flippy. I think I'd upgrade to OPTO now that i'm a bit more experienced! I think for slower arm speeds and beginners this is a must have!

I have a 174g Opto. Super beginner friendly.  When thrown at around half power, it flies dead straight for 1-200 feet.  Glide is tremendous.  The huge diameter and slight dome of the disc means it catches a lot of air and stays in flight under low power.

Because of its low effort glidey straight flight, it's my go-to for heavily wooded holes off the tee, but it's also so damn straight that I use it in open fairways as well.

Maybe the most beginner friendly disc I have ever thrown. The Fuse is now replacing a disc that I thought would never leave my bag, the Buzzz. Honestly, between the Fuse and the Compass, these 2 discs cover pretty much anything I need a mid-range to handle and they have effectively take the Buzzz out of my bag and on to my shelf. I suffer from a terrible forehand, but with the right angle, the understability of the Fuse can make up for some of my inability to throw a forehand. This disc also travels FAR, and it is easy to adjust your arm speed to get the Fuse to land where you need it to. The Fuse is a great disc for all players, and if you have never thrown one, definitely give it a shot.

Just like what Gary Michael Williams said, this disc glides for days. I just started playing disc-golf about three weeks ago but am a pretty athletic person so picking up this sport hasn’t been too bad so far. This disc will teach you how to throw flat if you don’t already and on a good, solid throw, this thing just GOES. It feels great in my hand and inspires a lot of confidence which is great for a beginning player like me. I played my local course with it last night and went for some gaps that I’ve otherwise felt very unsure of and man, the Fuse was DEAD straight but if I wanted to throw a hyzer, it was smooth and easy. The disc will do what you want so if you haven’t already, buy one! I’m probably going to buy another one just in case I lose this one (hoping and praying I don’t because I love it).

This is by far the best mid I have ever thrown... Do you know when you beat in that 11x KC Pro ROC to the straightest flight ever? Yea that's the FUSE right out of the box. With all of the tremendous glide, I guarantee you can get this mid farther than any other on the market. This is one of those once in a lifetime molds that latitude designed perfectly. I throw this disc for about 70% of my midrange shots because it can hold any line! I know if you pick up a fuse you'll love it.

I picked up this disc after hearing the guys on Disc Golf Answer Man talk about how it was Thomas (Lat 64 disc designers) say it was his best design for a disc.

I had been looking to fill the slot for a very neutral/slightly understable mid-range. After trying many molds, I think I finally found what I was looking for. I've been throwing it for a month, and honestly, I'm in love. This disc flies very very neutral. How you release it, is how it's going to fly. If I release it flat, it stays very flat and doesn't deviate that much. If I throw a hyzer, it seems to hold from start to finish. Dare I say that for me, it flies like a midrange version of a Nova, or perhaps a little less stable than a Mako3.

Lastly, this disc has some major GLIDE. It goes for days. There is a shorter downhill hole on a local course. You have to throw it either dead straight, or slight anhyzer that slowly fades back to flat. I felt like I threw this disc at 35%, and it just kept going. Not left, not right, just straight well beyond the basket and OB in the creek. It didn't want to fall out of the air.

This is it, the Trilogy Comet! I have thrown them back to back and they do the same thing, with the difference being a much better feeling rim on the Fuse. It goes straight, it turns late, it even holds a hyzer line. It does everything! There's a a bit of a learning curve but you will find yourself leaning on it more and more. I played a wooded course recently and used it on more than 9 of the holes.

The Opto Fuse is a Trilogy Comet out of the box. The flights are nearly identical for me. However, unlike the Comet, it has a modern "Buzzz-like" rim that feels better in the hand

This disc will go a long way with a flick of the wrist. It has huge glide and just enough understability  to be versatile. It flips to flat on a laser beam, it does wide, forward-penetrating turnovers, it's perfect for throwing from an awkward lie or a patent-pending, and it just seems to know what you want from it with a little bit of touch. Does not power up well.

This is one of my favorite discs. The glide this disk has is unbeliveable. It seems to always go exactly where is release it to. The only problem with that is that if the release is the wrong direction, the disc will go and go in the wrong direction, with very little fade back to where you want it. But if the release directon is correct then you will have a big smile when it glides for ever.

This disc takes some practice to figure out.  It is quite understable for a mid so on an anny line or even flat it will go right.  But get some hyzer on it, and it becomes a lazer beam.  Straight shot that glides for days, like all Latitude discs.  That said, in the hands of an absolute newbie it might be frustratting to use, but once you start learning, this disc could be a great tool to have.  Its on current rotation in my bag and even it it is not the disc I'm playing the round with, I throw it anyway to see what it can do because it seems so versatile.  Mine is a heavy 178 Opto so it is super durable and shrugs off wind.  I see me throwing this disc for a long time.

Once you learn the release angles on this disc, it's a great tool to have in the bag. The glide on this disc is unreal! I can throw this to turn 60 feet to the right and still throw it 275'. Huge sky annys. I put some hyzer on it and it will flip up and finish right. I put more hyzer on it, it flips flat. GREAT for wooded/tunnel shots as it will glide and glide. 100' forehand upshot out of the sticks? It'll do the job. Take varying degrees of power off, like throwing stand-still, or changing your release angle, you can throw any shot you want. Every tournament player needs a disc like this in their bag for those situational shots or tunnel lines, and Opto plastic being one the best (my personal favorite) and most durable, this is a great option.

I suspect for a beginner this would be a phenomenal disc as it has both the understable flight and glide that will help slower arms get down the fairway.

This disc is a must for any bag, absolutly my favorite mid range disc. Tons of glide espcially when thrown on an anhyzer line.

Picked up one of these thinking it would be a great mid range disc as a beginning player.  It over delivered on what I wanted.  As a beginner it would fly straight and true with some stability.  Now with improved arm speed it is a little understable, has a predictable right turn and will hold that line for a long time.  Not to mention the amazing glide this disc has which I totally love!

This disc has made a place in my bag. It is a straight flying disc... Dead straight. It doesn't fade. It goes straight. If you put just a tad bit of heat on it and release it straight or a little hyzer it will glide and start a slow, predictable right turn before coming back just a tad to finish dead straight, or hold the anny line if you want it to. Like many reviewers have said, you will be surprised how much you use this disc. I find more and more uses for it every hole. Even when thrown very lightly....guess what...it still goes straight. I have a 177 Opto Line and it feels great, it looks great....get one!
