Release flat and given enough space to work it will fly and finish straight with good glide. Additional distance can be gained with a slight hyzer flip and see the slightest fade at the end of flight. Anhyzer release will get this to the ground as a suitable roller disc

Not sure what the other reviewers are talking about because this is my favorite disc in my bag, after throwing it for 6 months.

Learn how to throw it (slight hyzer flip) and it will track dead straight. It's my furthest flying disc by far and the most consistent.

It even holds well in the wind which was surprising to me based on its flight numbers.

I love Latitude's lineup, but have had a hard time with this one. Mine was max weight in opto, and it seemed like I always got one of two results out of the flight. Either it turned over way too much, or I wouldn't get enough on it and it was straight to stable. Got a couple good lines out of it, just wasn't for me.

I may just have a lot to learn about this disc but I am finding it very tricky and unpredictable. Maybe it is sensitive to wind? Opto plastic is very slippery too, not great for a humid environment. I'm getting some decent range but I can't control it yet. Probably me.

The fury is a great workable disc for the intermediate or above and will be a great beginner driver when they step up to throwing drivers. Beginners will find this disc to be understable enough that they can get full flights and it will really help them learn angle control as they develop better form and start throwing further. I think more advanced players will find this to be a very understable disc but one that you can really manipulate at will. I find that this disc is a great woods disc when you need to throw on tight lines and make the disc fly certain ways. You can make this disc do almost anything you want it to as a driver without it being overly touchy. It will be touchy to an extent because it is very understable but not so much that you can't use it. This is a perfect touch disc when you do not need to throw max power but still want an intricate flight out of it. I love how the fury feels in the hand, it never gets uncomfortable and it always gets a really clean release from my hand.

So, I have a love affair with understable discs but I also have the potential for 500' distance. Notice I didn't say I throw 500' consistantly because I don't.

I found a new 175 gram opto fury on a course a couple months ago. Had no idea what it was... I started throwing it.. this disc is ridiculous. This disc, for me, is a utility driver. I can say two things for certain: thrown on  an absolutely vertical hyzer at full power slide flat up to the pin at 380'. I also see a noticable turn from this disc on a 100' upshot. Seriously, this thing is more understable than a dx aviar, but being a driver rim, helps teach nose angle control which is really useful for everyone-- the only caveat to putter only rounds.

This is THE driver I would recommend to anyone starting out, anyone looking for a tailwind max d driver, a Rehab driver for those who play so much they get overuse injuries, a beginner/intermediate roller, a child disc in a lighter weight.. this this is awesome. This in a translucent plastic is Lightyears less stable than a totally beat up star sidewinder.

Ridiculously understable and hilariously fun to throw.

This driver bettered my backhand form and made it easier for me driving it the tee. I think it is a disc that could be a beginner's first driver and really help teach form and grow with the player. It's somewhat forgiving but as it beats in it really asks for good smooth form and release to get a true flight. I love this disc and it is very dear to my heart and has made a nice spot in my bag for a reliable but understable driver. Both the Furys I have I throw a ton. My most beat in one is a super turning driver now. I can throw it with power and a lot of hyzer and it will flip flat and glide out for days to the right finishing forward; or pull off on power keeping a lot of hyzer and throw it 300 feet dead straight. It's also made learning to accurately throw roller shots so easy.

I'll admit that this disc sat in my trunk for a long time before I realized its potential. I suspect some of the other reviews on here are lower because they don't realize what a great anhyzer alternative this is. Put it on a little bit of hyzer and it will flip up and just glide to the right for days. This disc finally gave me the consistent "anhyzer" shot that I watched others throw with envy. If you release it flat with power then it's going to just dump and roll on you, so make sure you are paying attention to how you release it and it is predictable.

I have a 174g Opto Fury. It's a fairly typical 9 speed rim and feels comfortable in my hand. It's somewhat domey and has that Lat64 "overall" dome, meaning the dome seems to be from edge to edge as where Innova domey discs seem to be more domey in the middle excluding the rim. This is a great understable fairway/control driver and has great glide and it's easy to get this disc to turn. This is the disc I use when I need a long turnover shot. It doesn't have much fade at all - I'm rating it at a "1" for fade because it barely comes out of an anhyzer (and I'm not even that good at anhyzers) so I would not recommend this for a flex shot where you want to fade out at the end. It also hyzer flips really well for long straight tunnel shots. I almost never throw rollers, but this would be a good roller disc as well. Obviously, being understable it doesn't do well in head wind but flies nicely in tailwind. It's a good disc for beginners.

I just put this disc in my bag after i tested it in my field training, i loved it, it has the glide of the river with a little more bulk to it. I did find that it was slight more understable than i had anticipated. For me it has a little bit harder of a finish at  the end, which i really liked. It is slowly becoming a go to disc for me, i would highly recommend.

I found the Fury to be very under-stable, which is unusual for me and my low-power arm.  I have 300' BH power and I am not able to keep it from flipping, even on extreme hyzer release angle.  If it didn't flip, it drifted right way too much to be a viable option.  I had several weights and even max weight was too under-stable.  I can see this being a good first 9-speed driver for low power throwers.  Great glide and feels great in the hand.  Unfortunately, it was too flippy for me.

    ** Update 3/23/19

I put the Fury back in my bag because I want an easy backhand turn-over disc and it flies straight and glides well in a tailwind.  Since I put it back in my bag, I'm going to upgrade my rating to a 3 as I continue to work on this disc.  We'll see where it goes from there.

    ** Update 7/24/19

I took the Fury out shortly after my last update due to uncontrollable understability.  But it somehow finds its way back into my consciousness.  So, I purchased and am bagging a max weight Opto Fury and this one is finally not massively understable - but I can hyzer flip it and throw it flat with a predictable turn over.  In a tail wind it just flies flat for a long time.  I'm happy with this one so far.  It's finally doing what I hoped it would do for me.

I was hesitant getting this disc because of mixed reviews and to avoid overlap with my Valkyrie. For me, the Valkyrie flies straight and has a predictable fade. The Fury flies straight, with less effort and goes a little farther than the Valk. It has a little fade, but mostly goes straight. It has lots of glide and excels in a tailwind. I'm 54 and I'll reach for the Fury towards the end of the round or when I need straight distance. The Valkyrie handles the wind better. I will not throw the Fury in the wind, but I really like both discs and see both the Fury and Valkyrie staying in my bag. Mine is Opto plastic, 171g.

Both my sons also really like this disc. My older son (15) throws with more power. His favorite discs are the FD and Valkyrie. My younger (14) son's favorite discs are the Stingray and Archangel.

I thought the fury would be really similar to a valkyrie but with less fade that would help it hold turnovers longer. I had a valkyrie that I liked a lot but it would always fade out where I wanted it to stay turned, so I bought a fury. I wasn't a big fan because with anything more than 50% power this disc would turn HARD with no signs of ever fading out. I had never tried learning to throw rollers, but I thought maybe this would be a good disc for it, but I could never get it to stand up straight on the ground and it would curl really quickly 75 feet short every time. I give this disc 3 starts still because I think that it would be a great driver for brand new players to get some extra distance early on, but I don't think this disc is worth purchasing for any other reason.

Never really clicked with this disc. The Opto one I had was super hard and inflexible, which I really disliked. I generally prefer Fuzion/Gold/Tournament because it's a little softer. As far as flight goes, it's pretty similar to the numbers. I found it to be just a tick less overstable than a Saint and a faster Maul. I could hyzer flip the Fury, and it would still turn and never come back. For the amount of glide this disc has, it did not have a very large dome. The finickiness of the disc combined with how much I hated the feel of the plastic kicked the disc out of my bag before too long.

While I still feel like 9 speed discs shouldn't be a beginner's first driver, it very well could be if you feel like you are going to develop quickly. IF you decide that you can handle a 9 speed driver as a beginner, then this is the one. It has so much easy distance to it, and is so incredibly easy to throw. It flies forever and will easily give you a quick boost to distance and accuracy in the woods. It is easy to throw. Flat out.

Intermediate arms can still get great use from it though. Keep in mind, in the woods you might need a really accurate shot that you are going to want to power down on so you don't rip your favorite distance driver straight into a tree and ruin your whole day. This disc is incredibly controllable for those shots. Power down, hit your line, make your shot with the Fury. It's easy.

My 174 opto fury has been filling my understable fairway driver slot in my bag for about a year now and I've been loving it for such a variety of shots. Turnovers, rollers, quick flipping tomahawks, slow flilp to flat glidey shots, etc. It has a lot of turn, but also so much glide. So fun to throw big turnover shots with this disc, as it turns over and then just holds the turn and slowly glides out of it.

I'm sure beginners with slower arm speeds will love this disc, as it's easy to get distance thanks to all of the glide.

To me this disc does not fit in my bag as I alread have this slot filled by a beat in gold line saint. However, this was the first fairway driver I got for my wife when she stared out and she absolutely loves it. She has a retro-line fury and a opto fury. The Retro line beats in very quickly and has become almost too undestable at this point. But the Opto plastic holds its stability better. I would very much recommend this disc to a beginner who is looking for a fairway driver as the max distance disc.

This disc flies more understable than the numbers indicate.  This is great for anhyzers, possibly rollers, and hyzer flips.  A beginner won't get the full -3, but it would be a good first 9 speed disc for a newer player.  An experienced player can still find a spot in their bag for this one, I find it good for shaping shots where I need to end up more right or anhyzers.  Very underrated disc IMO.

Where do I start with this disc?  A buddy of mine won a Fury in a local tourney and hated it from the beginning.  We ended up trading and I can't tell you how much I love this disc!  For forehand, this is not a good disc at all for me, it just flips and is very inconsistent, but backhand, I can get this to do whatever I want.  A backhand throw is the weakest part of my game, but this is the first disc, other than a mid, I was able to get a hyzer flip on.  I was normally throwing about 250 BH, but with a Fury, I am reaching out to 350+, it just goes for days!  I really recommend this disc for lower arm speed, or if you are like me and beginning to develop a backhand.

This disc is five stars for beginners and 3 for avid players.  very easy to throw when learning to play you will get good distance.  Opto and goldline great plastics.  rim and depth are nice good feel in the hand. For avid players the disc will become to flippy and inconsistent.  not matter how much hyzer angle It will just turn hard and then get squirrly at the end of the flight because of the glide. if you throw 275ft and above you should look for something more controllable.

The First Run Fury I have is stable. I finally took it glow golfing and have spent a few 10 minutes at a tree trunk. Now mine turns and goes, with a slight fade. I use my Fury for short rollers, some hyzer flips, But it is my big air Anny Bomber, Released flat, throw way up and it turns hard right and holds the line.

I'm sure a beginner would love the disc, but mine came beefy and I wouldn't give it away.

I first picked up a Fury not too long after I had started playing. For a new player with lower arm speed it worked great. After I started developing my technique a little bit, it did become a fairly flippy disc. The one I was throwing was lighter, 168g, so maybe with a heavier disc it would give a little more strait flight, and not as much right crash for RHBH.

I started using the Fury as a go-to roller disc for shots that I wanted to finish right very quickly. It won't give a ton of distance rolling; it's understability causes it to stand up pretty quickly and end hard right.

For lower powered shots, 70% or lower, it is a great disc for strait shots or hyzer-flip to flat/slight right finish (RHBH). At the time I also discovered the Hatchet, which fills essentially the same slot. In the end I preferred the flight, profile, and feel of the Hatchet, but I still think the Fury is a fantastic disc. I love it as a roller, and also for its ability to be great for new or more experienced players.

My Opto Fury has never flown as the flight numbers here have it.  I bought it figuring it might be a good straight driver with awesome glide, but after several rounds have determined it is a good stable driver with average glide.  I would rate it as a 5 glide and 2 fade, which is not bad.  I still use it but more for those slight left hook drives as the fade is very reliable.  The Opto plastic is a little slick, I think I would have preferred the Gold.

I had an x-out Fury laying around that I never threw until recently, when I took it to a water heavy course as a "If I lose it, I lose it" disc. By the end of the round, I was thinking that it was going to stick around in the bag for a bit...

The Fury is right between the the River and the Saint for me. Rivers were too touchy for me, and the Saint was a nice disc but I struggled to get consistent hyzer flips with it. The Fury fits nicely between them and is a sweet spot for my arm speed.

The disc does well with those hard 90 degree anhyzer shots that you need to cut corners with, and on a hyzerflip with some air under it, it gently tracks into a turn that comes back slightly. Flip it low, and its going to lock straight. Thrown flat and soft, it gets a nice glidy S curve. It's a true 7 glide. It really fights against gravity. New players will see easy distance with this.

I wanted to play around with the Fury a bit more, so I just got a fresh Pink with a rainbowed stamp on it thats absolutely gorgeous from Infinite. Definitely recommend the brightly colored Fury's- that high glide disc catches the wind wrong or hits a tree wrong, its going a long way off your line. Always better to get something easy to spot! My old Purple one was a pain to find in the woods.

I'm not sure if it will ultimately stay in my bag, but for now I'm having fun with it.

This flew much different than the charts/numbers would say.  This is much more stable than it claims and always fades back at the end.  I find this even more stable than a hatchet!  It's not a bad disc but it's not the really untestable disc they claim it is, that's all.

Opto 175. This disc is a good understable disc for advanced, and a good driver for beginners. More understable then a Saint and not as understable as a Maul. This like a Saint is a true 7 glide. Basically your typically understable disc. Can S curve if made, can just ride an anny release if needed, also can be released hzyer flip up and go right.

The Fury is a speed 9 River that's capable of handling more power. It's definitely an understable version of the Saint, except with more glide. The Fury gets such easy distance that it can be hard to control at first. It just wants to keep gliding, even when it slows down. That's always a good problem to have as a disc golfer.

The Fury does turnover shots well, but it excels at straight shots. When thrown on a low hyzer flip, the Fury is dead-straight with some turn and hardly any fade. It's fun to throw and fun to watch others throw because of its unbelievable glide.

Just keep it out of windy conditions. Understable molds with -2 turn + 7 on glide + wind = lost disc. The Fury fights to stay in the air as long as its spinning. It has so much glide that the wind can carry it wherever it wants.

For beginners and players without lots of arm speed, the Fury won't be very understable, it'll be your go-to driver for straight shots and mild hyzers. For the bigger arms, the Fury will be great for long turnovers and hyzer flips that need to finish with minimal or no fade.

Speaking from past experience, I highly recommend the Fury in weights below 170 grams for noodle arms struggling to get drives past 300 feet.

This is a great understable fairway driver. I have thrown the hatchet and seer, and this still is my favorite out of those. I feel the rim size is perfect, and the disc really will fly when powered up. A straight release will produce a turn over shot that ends to the right. This disc is a HYZER FLIP MONSTER! Great for tunnel shots that open up to a field for a nice hyzer flip s-curve flight. Great for hyzer shots that flip up to glide, understable driver duties, anything that ends right etc. If you dont have a flight shot, pick up a fury! I am partial to mine as I have an orange opto with black huklab trifly logo...nasty in flight!

Purchased this in 161g Opto. First impressions; it's beautiful. Next; it flies extremely well in a headwind for an understable disc. Putting this disc on flat to hyzer flip line with a tailwind will yield the most consistent and promising results. I've never had a brand new disc fly as consistently as this does. I'm nervous it will end up being too understable and unusable, but time will tell, and the opto plastic is actually holding up remarkably well after a half dozen cheeky rounds on a wooded course. I am really enjoying throwing this disc. For me, disc golf is all about confidence, and throwing a committed shot you can trust, and this disc is certainly a confidence-inspiring one. I would recommend this disc to beginners that are coming into form, who are seeking something easy to throw that will provide a nice bit of distance. The glide on this disc is excellent with a tailwind, and I would say the numbers are spot on as advertised. I will carry this disc until it becomes too understable.

This disc is amazing I used to only be able to throw 270ft but with this disc I can throw at least 300ft the first time I threw this disc I knew it was going to be amazing but it took a little bit to get used to it. I can sometimes get this disc to hyper flip but that is on rare occasion because I have a 175g opto fury. This disc is the perfect combination of speed, glide, turn, and fade. If you are looking for glide you found it this disc will float through the air for ever. I recommend this disc for everyone

This is a hyzer flip machine. Usually get more d than my escape with my fury. Have a double stamp and say its much more understable than a saint. When thrown flat I see a finish to the rt but it does flex back some. While not the 1st fairway I grab its my favorite just because the understability allows for more lines for me than the eacape.

This and my Flow are go to drivers.  This disc is great, it will hold just about any line as long as you don't over throw it.  For me it will go from a nice slow turn with some fade to land just about stright, will turn over for a foller, and will shoot sright and fly low if I keep it nice and level.  I play a pretty wooded course and love that this disc's turn starts about 10 feet out.  Split the D.

I'm an average player with a decent backhand and a rather mediocre flick. I purchased this disc in the hopes that with it I could master the anhyzer throw and eliminate the need of my flick. This disc has indeed helped me in this department. My max weight Opto Fury seems to love being thrown flat and just gently trailing right for those longer annies and if I need a sharper turn, I just give it the angle and the power and it takes it. Its really impressed me and is definitely staying in my bag as a fairway driver of choice for a long time to come.

I purchased this disc through Infinite Discs and I could not be happier. I am a back hand thrower without a ton of power so I was looking for a disc that would maximize the distance I get from my drives. I ordered a 171g Opto line Fury and it is a thing of beauty. I bought this disc because it has a great amount of glide without the need for a ton of speed. This disc has exceeded my expectations and is my go to driver when it's not excessively windy. The plastic is very grippy with a nice shimmer to it when spun on the finger. The plastic is very comparable to the Innova champion plastic, although I would have to say it wears a bit faster. I love this disc so much I have already ordered a gold line to see how I like the other type of plastic. Overall, I highly recommend this disc for players looking to stretch the distance they get out of a control driver. One of my favorites.

I got a Fury in Opto plastic, 174 grams from my buddies at Infinite Discs. In the related products below, it says the Fury is comparable to the Gateway Assassin, which I have. I have seen that these two discs have similar speed and glide, but everything else is different. The Fury has more high speed turn and less low speed stability than the Assassin, which can be nice for beginners. It's very easy to get a comfortable grip and consistent snap with this disc. As far as the flight goes, headwinds and crosswinds from the left make this disc turn right and not really come back left. It doesn't turn and burn into the ground, though. I feel like this is due to the massive amount of glide on the disc. For tailwinds and crosswinds from the right, it flies amazingly straight and far. This disc should not be thrown forehand for anyone with average snap or better. The Fury is not my favorite fairway driver in my bag (Volt is), but it's great for tailwinds and tight tunnel shots in the woods. Lastly, I highly recommend this disc to beginners and those with slow arm speeds.

The Latitude 64 Fury is described as a driver for those who find the Saint too overstable; this is an accurate description. It could also be described as a longer River. The Saint is a stable (not overstable as advertised) driver; the Fury is it’s understable little brother. This review is based on a 175g First Run Opto Fury, a lighter weight or Gold Line Fury should be more understable. As to be expected from Latitude, the Fury thrives on excellent throwing form and exceptional glide. On a calm day, a smooth throw will yield a long, straight throw finishing in a graceful hyzer. When cranked on, it will flip up, ride, and turn late in the flight; no fade. The Fury rides a tail wind quite well for effortless distance. However, as with the Saint, the Fury does not excel in cross or head winds. This is the primary reason Saint’s are no longer in my bag. Even when thrown hyzer, the Fury flipped up, turned, and burned into a 5-10mph breeze. The Fury is almost interchangeable with the Opto Vision. In fact, I question why Latitude 64 chose to even make the Fury with such overlap. A truly overstable variation of the Saint seems like a more logical choice for their disc lineup. Although I believe any disc can be thrown forehand or backhand, I would probably avoid this disc for forehand dominant throwing due to the rim size and required smooth throw. As with all slower speed drivers, the rim is fairly narrow; great for those with smaller hands. Overall, the disc is decent, but not a game-changer; similar discs are offered by other manufacturers. For high-powered players it may serve as an out-of-the-box roller; my use for the Opto Vision. Advanced players may find it useful as an easy turn-over disc, that never fades (especially in lighter weights), similar to a Innova Roadrunner or Discraft Avenger SS. Questionable choice for newer or low-powered players as the disc thrives on good form. Discs that reward proper form are great for learning, however, it can also be frustrating. For those unfamiliar with Opto plastic, it is similar to Innova Champion or Discraft Z plastic; stiff and slick, especially when wet. I believe it is the most durable plastic available from any manufacturer. I've rolled Opto plastic many times and it holds up amazingly. Excellent plastic, my preference in Latitude Discs. Gold line isn't quite as stable or durable, but is the most beautiful plastic available on the market. For reference, I primarily throw control drivers for distance and advanced in non-sanctioned tournaments, on average, placing in the middle of the group. I’ve extensive experience with ~168 Opto Saints (max distance of 350’, for me), which I am using as a comparison.

Just got back from a little field work with my Red 167g OPTO and Yellow 165g GL Fury's! I'm primarily a Diamond thrower and the Fury is a sweet and easy upgrade to a "non-beginner" disc. Stability a tick better than my mutant Diamonds (161g & 163g) with slightly more speed and nice, long, slow turns. Doesn't drop out of the sky when the fade kicks in; just keeps on gliding... Awesome!

Another great driver by Latitude 64. My Fury is 173g in Opto Line plastic. It is a great straight flying driver for my power, and doesn't flip over with a good rip. While it is supposed to be more understable than the Saint, at 173g and right out of the box, my Fury didn't seem more understable. If you like the Saint, you'll probably like the Fury too. I'm not sure which one to bag.
