Culverin is a great fade disc.

Beginners will have more success with discs with glide ratings 5 and above. Culverin gets the job done for a distance and predicable fade.

As a new player, I use the Compass for mid-range small fade, and the Emac Truth for a bit more fade. But I can only launch these mids backhand.

For more distance and a touch more fade the Explorer is excellent. And its aerodynamic rim enables me to launch it forehand and backhand. So I can turn the corner left and right.

Then there's the Culverin. It has longer legs than its little brother Explorer. I can wrap it around big trees and have it land near the basket where the Explorer would become a bird's nest. And like the Explorer, the fairway shape lets me handle it fore and back handed.
