The Latitude 64 Ballista is a fast, overstable ultra-high-speed driver. It is described as "a more understable World" and will exhibit a slight degree of high-speed turn for the advanced disc golfer. This disc offers a predictable flight path every throw, and is often used for shaped shots that require a good amount of fade.

    Retro Burst Details

Retro Burst is a special run of Latitude 64's Retro plastic featuring color bursts throughout the plastic. Retro plastic was designed for players who wanted to be reminded of the old school plastic from disc golf in the 80's. This baseline plastic easily "breaks in" and is very affordable.

My Flight Ratings: 14/5/-1/3 Not Beginner Friendly Throwing Distance: N/A Straight Score: N/A

When my son lost my starter set distance driver, I went online to find a replacement or two. Not fully understanding the meaning of speed ratings yet, I picked up two 14-speeds -- including the Ballista. I've been told that Lat64 speeds aren't necessarily equivalent to those of other companies, so maybe the 14 was more like a 12? At any rate, this flew very well for me from the outset and was probably neck-and-neck with a 150g Wave as my farthest drivers. Unfortunately the cheaper plastic led to a beat-in and (very) beat-up state all too soon, and the understability has been tricky to work with for the past couple seasons; however, if I can find the right balance of hyzer release, throwing speed, and wind direction, this still gives me my best distance in many instances. It has also become a rather natural roller disc now as I've tried to add that type of shot to my repertoire. I may get another in a better plastic and see how that serves me.
