Kastaplast Kaxe Z is a less stable version of the Kaxe. It was taken out of production momentarily, but has now been retooled and re-released! The Kaxe Z has a somewhat unique profile with characteristics of both a midrange and a driver. It typically features a slightly smaller rim depth than a standard midrange, which can make it feel more like a driver in hand. It can be used for a wide variety of shots, including straight lines, slight anhyzers, and controlled hyzers.

My Flight Ratings: 6/3/0/2 Terrible for Beginners Throwing Distance: 250 Straight Score: Slightly Overstable

Looking at the shape and specs, I expected something glidier than a midrange and easier to throw than your typical fairway, given it's 15.5mm rim (so in-between a 15mm max mid and 16mm+ fairway).  I kinda got the opposite.  It's more like a mid with less glide, that you have to power up on like it's a fairway.  Also thrown flat/horizontal into a headwind, it shoots up in altitude.  In calm conditions it has a significant hook at the end, and just drops. Against the wind it will rise too much and even get a bit of a turn, but still not give you the distance you need.

If you're looking at this slot, maybe try the Pathfinder (Aura) instead, if you don't need as harsh of a fade, or the Kotuku (Cosmic), for more glide, a decent fade at the end, and with good wind-fighting capabilities at midrange distances.

Got some definite turn to it and not quite as much fade but a solid disc

I can't believe this disc is going to be discontinued.

the K1 soft version is incredible. I love the hand feel and it's less domey than the k1 line version.

this disc does a lot for me: I can throw it in place of an MD3 as well as in place of a TeeBird.  Good stability, soft finish, and workable.  It doesn't need the same ceiling as a 5 speed mid to work and won't finish as hard as a 7 speed fairway.  Great disc!

I've been practicing on getting consistent 250ft drives, used the kaxe z and easily hit 250 and a straight line with ease. I was hesitant of the flexibility and gumminess of the k1 soft plastic but I was able to get used to it real fast and feels great to throw.
