Kastaplast Kaxe Z is a less stable version of the Kaxe. It was taken out of production momentarily, but has now been retooled and re-released! The Kaxe Z has a somewhat unique profile with characteristics of both a midrange and a driver. It typically features a slightly smaller rim depth than a standard midrange, which can make it feel more like a driver in hand. It can be used for a wide variety of shots, including straight lines, slight anhyzers, and controlled hyzers.

I love this disc for 150-225ish feet hyzer approach shots. It just hangs in the air until it senses its near the basket. Then the disc dive bombs towards it and in K2 plastic usually sticks its landing like an Olympic gymnast. It's the sort of disc you know where it's going to land the moment you throw it.

Probably the most reliable disc in my bag. Feel and control of a midrange but the distance of a fairway driver. Love the K-2 plastic. Seems to skip less than the K1. Don't know that I quite agree with the 2 fade. Seems a touch less to me, but still probably my favorite disc in my bag

Did I tell you about this Disc in k2? It's practically a fairway driver, this thing can bomb.It also holds big hyzer lines quite nicely. As it beats in, it becomes a straighter midrange that is excellent for tunnel shots. Excellent disc, it got me my first two aces. 174grams.

For me, this is my absolute go-to disc!!  The flight numbers listed are right on for my throws.  I pretty much exclusively throw this backhand (no flicks) and it holds any line I put it on for pretty much the entire flight.  I can get reliable anyhyzers, hyzers, and dead-straight shots out of this disc!  I have a fairly decent arm and this disc can handle whatever I put on it for 300+ foot shots.

The K2 plastic is also phenomenal!!  I throw a lot of other Kastaplast molds in K1 but for this disc in particular, I just love the little extra 'flop' of the K2.  I kind of think it helps give me a little more control as I grip it for different shots.  Just like all of the plastics, the K2 is grippy enough to feel snug and confident in the hand but never feels like it sticks too much at release.  It also holds up REALLY well after hitting trees, pavement, etc., these discs keep flying the same for me even after a little abuse.  I love all my Kastaplast discs but this one is my TOP pick!!

My brother got his first ace with a Kaxe Z.  After throwing his on one hole and experiencing the plastic, I had to get myself one.  This is an amazing disc, and great to tee off with short holes.  Flight pattern is accurate for sure.

This disc is so great! If it's a short hole there's probably a 90% chance I'm throwing this disc from the pad. I wish every disc has this grip. I can shape this disc into any line I need. As has been said before, it's not a disc that will hold an anhyzer, but I love that you can trust the fade on this disc. This is my ace run disc. K2 plastic is amazing and the K1 plastic is great too.

This is a disc that all of my friends who have thrown it, keep one in their bag. Do yourself and your game a favor and get this disc.

Always wanted to try a Kastaplast disc - figured the Kaxe Z would compliment my throwing style best, and I have not been disappointed.

First, the plastic is amazing - I got the K2, grippy, tough, it almost glows in the dark.

The flight took me a bit of time to nail down, but it is a birdie machine in short holes. It has a bit of turn, so I give it a hyzer release, which flips to flat, then fades like crazy.

It is long, not as long as a Warship, but long for a mid.

    Great disc.

I've been playing for about 18 months. I've tried the plastics of many brands. After one round with a Kaxe Z in K2 plastic I can say K2 is my favorite. Is like if Star and Champ plastic had a three way with Discraft Flex Z ti and a love child came out of it that was better than all three of it's parents. This plastic is THAT good. I thought swirly star was the best plastic, This is better if you like more grip.

As for the Kaxe Z itself, this is a solid control driver. I feel like it's got Tee Bird distance. It's got a lot of that glide of a River. I bag a Tee bird, River and FD and I think one of those three is getting replaced. My max arm speed right now is probably a Speed 7-8. I can give this 100% and not worry about what it will do.

I have a Kaxe Z in both K1 (translucent) and K2 (opaque) as well as a Kaxe in K1 (opaque)... all within 1g of max weight.  First K2 is an awesome plastic.  It is extremely durable, flexible and grippy.  The flex bites chains for aces and unexpected birdies while also being more forgiving of tree strikes.  The K2 Z seems to have a little more turn and a little more glide than the K1 but that may be because the grip allows me more snap at release.  The K1 plastic is also grippy and I prefer it when more control is required.  Now, how does it fly?  Spectacularly - an underrated sleeper beauty.  It really is the best of midrange and fairway driver in one.  I can throw the K2 about 340 ft at full rip BH with only slightly less accuracy than a Thunderbird at that range.  It turns and fades in a tight S that ends up just barely left of center RHBH.  To me its full flight is like a Discmania C-Line FD with less glide.  It powers down extremely well without meat hooking but can also handle some wind and be thrown FH without turning over.  I don't have anything to compare it to when powered down... its just a slightly overstable midrange flight path - barely a hint of turn and a reliable forward fade at the end.  It can do just about everything except hold an anhyzer line to the ground.  Its always my choice for one disc rounds.  With a full bag, though, I don't tend to throw it often enough choosing instead more specialized discs.  Its just such an all-arounder it gets overlooked to the detriment of my score.  Far too often I choose a slower mid or a longer fairway driver and regret not throwing a Kaxe Z instead.  The smaller-than-a-mid diameter is great for confidence in small windows (even though only psychologically) and the rim feel is "right".  To pick a nit I wish it were flat topped but I would not want to give up any of the glide in exchange.  Can it share a bag with the shorter and more stable Kaxe?  Maybe but I seldom bag both.  Only strong winds or more technical courses cause me to bag the Kaxe instead of the Z.  Everyone needs a few Z's.

This has become a staple of my bag, and Im going to purchase another.

When you touch it, you realize the K2 plastic is something special. Grippy, yet a durable feel, with just the right amount of flex. Might be a little too gummy for some, but I like it.. There are plenty of hard, non-flex plastics out there.

So, the flight. Its not your typical 'straight flight, give it less power and watch it hold a line' midrange, its true what they say that the thing is a bit faster than that. You gotta give it some juice. But when you do, its got a really straight flight, with a beatiful little S action to it. Not too much, not too little. Straight enough for tunnels, with just enough turn and fade for nice distance.

It can handle flicks, too. Some gentle hyzer lines, and it will hold an anny line for a bit befire eventually getting a small fade. Its a real all-around disc. Its the disc you grab when you want that straight flight of a mid, but you know you want some more distamce before that little fade.

This disc will stay in my bag. Kastaplast is no joke, ladies and gents, and this disc is proof.

5 star disc. I give this disc 5 stars just for the plastic itself, I have the KAXE K2 and it feels great. It's one of those discs that as soon as I held it I knew it would fly good for me. I can use this disc for every shot and be satisfied. I can throw it strait and flat if I want to, it responds great to hyzer throws and it also forehands very well for me and I am a backhand thrower with almost no forehand experience. It is very tolerable to the wind and "off" shots. Get one the next time you have a few bucks to spare, I bet you will love it.

Finally got a chance to test out my new 171 orange K2 Kaxe Z.  The K2 Plastic is some of the best plastic I have ever felt.  Very grippy and flexible while not being overly floppy.  Really like the smooth release and predictable flight out of the Kaxe Z.  Speed and glide on this disc definately make this my longest "mid-range" while being a little shorter than my fairway/control drivers.  Sent it out close to 350 feet a few times this weekend without really having to rip on it.  The Kaxe Z isnt quite as overstable as i was thinking it might be, and actually gets a decent amount of turn in before the soft, forward fade.  Would like to throw a Kaxe Z in K1 platic to compare the stability of the two.  Hit a few trees (more like barely clipped a few) and the K2 plastic is already losing some little pieces of plastic off of the rim.  Hopefully the K2 will last a long time.
