The Star XCal is my go to driver into a stiff headwind.  I have yet to turn this thing over and have thrown it into some very strong winds.  Throw this disc with an anhyzer and it will flex out to give a nice S flight, which is a lot of fun.  Finally, I love this disc for any shot where I do not want to go right (RHBH).  There are a couple holes on my home course that allow for a big hyzer shot and the XCal is my trusted choice in those situations.  This disc is great for what it does and will be in my bag for a long time.

I tried a PD2 and it was definitely too beefy so I thought I give the ol' X-Cal a try. It did not fly the way it was supposed to. I know there is a lot of inconsistency with this specific mold and mine was definitely a case of that. It flew well, sure. I got great distance out of it. But it was barely overstable. It flew straight. If I was looking for that type of disc, wonderful. But I already have several other drivers for that. I wanted a brick of a disc and this was not that.

up front I'd like to say i never throw the xcal backhand. Every throw has been forehand and I've been very pleased with its performance. It flies a bit faster than 12, I'd say closer to a speed 13.

The mold feel comfortable FH and the disc flies very straight and long. On a slight anhyzer it fights to stay straight and then fades out consistently.
