I love this disc! As a forehand dominant player (350 max drive) I can hammer this on a great anhyzer angle and it will fight back by the end of the flight.  Plenty of distance and very controllable. Can't say enough good things about this disc.

Great disc for hyzer shots and flicks that you really need to crank on! Excellent in windy conditions!

One of the best disc for forehand dominant players. Would give to my first born child for their first birthday. Love it.

This is my go-to disc for strong headwinds or a super hyzer or a decently long hyzer. I can't throw it backhand with enough speed yet in order to get it to go straight for any decent amout of time so this disc hyzers almost immediately out of my hand which is perfect for those super hyzer shots. That being said, what I mostly use this disc for is far and long forehand hyzers. I forehand (RHFH) this baby and she flies straight for just a little bit before beginning her very steep right turn! Works like a charm everytime! When faced with a headwind, I also forehand this disc and she will stay straight for longer before fading off right. Love this disc and it won't be leaving my bag anytime soon!

This disc is very over stable and pretty fast I throw this disc mostly for forehands but if its a strong head wind I will throw it backhand. This disc when thrown flat goes pretty straight with a strong finish. I would recommend this disc to anyone with a higher arm speed.

    171g champion xcal

I have been a heavy forehand thrower most of the time I have played. This is what I throw 98% of the time. It's a little wonky at first on account of how over stable it is. It truly wants to dump super true to its line.

But with a little practice and arm conditioning you can whip this disc on a frozen rope line with the heavy fade for a perfect line around any obstacles. I tend to enjoy throwing it with a heavy flex for a few resons:

    1. it just feels so slick to see of huge s-line
    2. because of its heavy fade and over stability, it truly will force itself back from the flex
    3. Nate Sexton uses it all the time, what else do you need to know!

Added bonus: This is the only disc I will ever really choose to throw a tomahawk.

This Champ Xcal is not nearly as overstable as advertised, less so than a destroyer. It's more like a thunderbird in flight. You'd think it flies like a firebird and could take some flex into a headwind, not the case. If put on anhyzer without out wind, it barely comes out, add the headwind, no chance. It's a good disc for what it is, not bad for what it's supposed to be. I have found that Innova's discs can vary wildly with plastic type. That said, the star is about right.

Champion X-Caliber (175g) - I finally tried one of these and put it into the far end of my bag immediately. I have always had a slot for a very overstable driver that I could either put max power into and still finish right (RHFH), or throw at half power with some anhyzer and flex around obstacles in that 150ft range. I had been using a Champ Boss, but I think this fits in my hand better, is a little flatter, and definitely has that added advantage of overstability. It is a utility disc for sure, but I can see why so many pros have one for those "just in case," moments.

This thing is a doozie. It doesn't come out of my bag a whole lot, but it'll appear every now and again when I'm playing in like a Category 5 hurricane or something. You look at the numbers, that's what you're gonna get. Fantastic disc for a forehander who's got some power, tough to throw backhand. You gotta really hurl this to get it to go straight, but if you can get it to that speed, it'll do its job. Good disc to use a role player or special situation disc.

I wanted a long range firebird. I got the tour series disc. It is definately as advertised. A word of caution, it fades REALLY late in the flight. I was expecting it to always want to fade while flying. If you are in the same boat I was in, just remember it takes a while to fade.

Great for flicks just like the numbers suggest, I have one for flicking and one for anhyser lines. I really like this disc and would suggest it to those who don't flick well it just might help you develop the skill!

This is my favorite distance forehand disc. It is the most reliable disc I've thrown in this category and it is very comfortable in my forehand grip. The runs do vary a little so make sure you test out each one buut I love the slight variances in my max weight Xcals. My champion Xcal happens to be vary flat and a bit less stable surprisingly; this is a bomber and always has a nice reliable fade. My star Xcal is a bit more domey and more stable again very reliable. I love the Xcal because it holds the torque of a forehand really well but actually has nice amount of speed and glide that get me a lot more distance then my Max or Firebird. I like throwing the Xcal on forehand even more then my Destroyers again because of the more reliable torque resistance. If you have the big arm speed for this disc (very important) than this is a very workable disc that isn't just going to die early.

I am reading all these reviews and wonder why everybody is downing the xcaliber. I have a 175 champion and it is my most reliable disc in my bag I can throw it about 350 forehand consistently and the only way it turns over is if I throw it wrong. I love this disc I have only been playing a little less than a year. If you are a forehand thrower I would definitely try it.

I was looking for a nice big forehand flex driver that can handle a fair amount of power and this was not it. I bought a star and champion max weight that both turned over without coming back on a flat release. If you are looking for the same go to the PD2. I release with quite a bit of power on my forehands (400 - 450 flex shots) and this had to be released on a forehand Hyzer to get past 200ft before still TURNING into the ground immediately. With a C-line PD2 I can release it on an ani line and count on it to come back.

On a backhand note this is a reliable overstable driver however I'll stick to my firebirds that go just as far with more control. This did not make the bag and I was very disappointed after hearing the reviews and "accurate ratings".

IMO, the Champion Xcaliber is exactly what a good overstable driver ought to be. Stable enough to fight wind, but with enough glide to still achieve noteworthy distance. Many overstable drivers are glideless meathooks that are good for only short shots. The Excaliber can be manhandled by the biggest arms and hold a line for longer drives in windy conditions.

Basically a must have disc for breezy days and long, accurate drives. The Ape is pretty much the same thing, but a tick faster.

My go to disc for RHFH shots that are straight and are around 350-400 feet in distance. Throwing it on an anhyzer turns the disc to the left and will hold the line and gradual comes out after about 300 feet. Love how this disc doesn't just dump out right at the end and will give good skips on the short grass.

Great disc!  I have had one in my bag for two years now. I throw right hand forehand with this disc. Great for heavy wind!  Has a ton of fade.  If thrown low and flat it does great with skip shots.

This was a great disc for those dogletg right (RHFH) holes that turn at almost 90 degrees. I used it purely sidearm. Great distance and it would ride the fade for extra distance towards the basket instead of just laying up at the turn.

Great for dogleg left holes for rhbh throwers. Power players can get tons of distance IF you can get it to turn over.

This is a really good sidearm disc I can flip it out there a good 360-420 and it will hold a line and fade light when thrown straight. Throw it with a bit of anny and it goes a bit further with a nice swiping a curve. I have it in champ plastic one of my favorite drivers.

i have one in champion plastic and i guess that i don't have the arm speed necessary to get the most out of this disc it doesn't go very far for me and it heads straight left, its a beautiful disc hopefully my skill level will catch up to it some day
