I ALWAYS have one of these in my bag.  In fact, it would be my choice for a one-disc round.  As a slow-arm beginner who started this sport at age 75, the Champion Wombat3 was the first disc in durable premium plastic that I could throw without excessive fade.  I can make it fade into the bullseye with some hyzer;  make if fly STRAIGHT with a level shot with adequate spin; or even make it hold the turn all the way with just a little anhyzer release.  Once you learn some "touch" to control distnace, it's an all-purpose disc.  I can throw it almost as far as my drivers, yet it is still accurate on shorter shots without excessive fade-out. In lighter weights, it's the perfect beginner disc, too.

the Wombat3 used to be my favorite disc.  I lost a DX that used to go straight as an arrow with no fade at all, just gently going towards the ground, maintaining a straight line. And it had amazing glide, going much farther than any other midrange that I owned.  It did start to turn slightly after a year's use, and then I lost it.

I replaced with a Champion Wombat3, and this thing, out of the box, had way more turn - like -3 turn.  I read rumors on the net that they changed the mold.  It certainly seems that way.  Even after I carefullly trimmed off all the overhanging flashing around the perimeter, it still was more understable than I liked.

Innova, you wrecked a great disc!  :(

I've seen a review on yt by six sided discs where in comparing straight midranges, they found that the straightest disc right now, if you're looking for something similar to the old mold, is the Claymore.

I bought this disc for my wife and when she got it, this was the second time she had ever played. I also threw it a few times. For my wife it was a bit over stable but the disc flew further and straighter than her other discs. When i threw it, it was straight and had a very nice finish. The wombat 3 is a great disc for tight tunnels. Very straight with a nice soft finish.

I have one in Luster Champion and one in Halo Star. Love the Luster champion one other than the terrible color. The Halo Star one has terrible flashing everywhere and is much more domey than my perfectly flat Luster Champ. I would not buy a Halo Star unless they work out those issues. Every edge that can have flashing has flashing. It even has an odd bump that's worse than flashing on the outter rim. Innova quality control seems terrible.

Easy to turnover but holds a line well gliding a long ways.  A unique disc that I always have in my bag.

I have a Champion version of this disc and it's a workhorse in my game right now.  I use it for long, slow, slight turns and straight shots a bit too far for my Nova.  It's a great driver for all sorts of par 3's where you don't need to s-curve through a forest.  Like if there's a single obstacle or a window shot, it's perfect.  If flies well and you can carry it on a hyzer or anny line for quite a bit of distance before it flattens out and drops with a touch of fade.  It's a great approach disc and I have chained out from 103' with this disc.  I grew up playing frisbee a ton.  Not ultimate or anything, just frisbee.  I always liked throwing frisbees, catching it behind my head, between my legs, flicking forehands, aiming at stuff, etc.  This is a frisbee disc in that vein.  It feels like throwing a frisbee except with no overstability.  Almost like a 1980's wham-o.  It fits great in my hand and it goes right where I want it too almost every single throw.  It's very forgiving of errant throws except for dirt bomb releases where you early release it on a hyzer line.

This disc would be great for beginner newbs all the way up to intermediate.  It's a great disc to practice drives with as it holds stability well even at high torque, and with the slight fade if you grip lock or late release or have bad footwork, it lets you know it.  It won't burn out, it'll just fly the wrong direction and keep going.  Folks with excellent arm speed might have to dial it down a bit though as I have avg arm speed and am just now driving discs like the Roadrunner and Beast a few hairs over 300'.

If you throw it level, it will reward you with parked straight shots every time.  I would give it a fade of .5, even though it really just the spin of a rhbh, but it does fade right at the drop down in the last 5-10' or so depending on the throw.

Awesome disc that flies flat and straight on whatever line you put it on. Truly has no fade.

Awesome, glidey midrange! I purchased a 180g Wombat3 in Champion plastic as a loaner for friends and family. After throwing it in a field, this disc almost replaced my Mako3. As a beginner, I could throw the Wombat3 further than any other midrange I tried (Mako3, Buzzz, Truth) and on a nice, straight line. It feels good in the hand, has a flat top and a large bead. I highly recommend this disc.

this is one of my favorite mid ranges. I am a beginner and at first this disc flew dead straight for me.  Now that I have a little more arm speed this disc turns right and holds with no fade. To throw it straight with no turn I just release with a little hyzer and it flies perfect for me in tunnel shot situations.

This is my favorite midrange of all time.  It is the best midrange out there for slight turnover mid range shots and it is also my personal favorite for straight shots.

I flies very true to it's flight rating of 5, 6, -1, 0.  It has tons of glide and wants to drift slightly right the entire way, almost never coming back to the left at all unless thrown with a lot of hyzer.

I can throw this disc lightly with a touch of hyzer (which is my most consistent way to throw discs) and it will flip up to flat and ride straight the entire flight with a very straight finish. The Wombat 3 also works really well when you are in a situation where you need to throw nose-up, like on a very uphill hole or to get under a low ceiling.  When thrown nose-up, the Wombat 3 flies lazer straight the entire flight and stays in the air for a long time before slowing dropping straight down.

The Wombat 3 has an interesting feel to it, the outside rim of the disc is pretty thin and sharp for a midrange, while my other mids have a very blunt rim. I personally love the way it feels with the sharp rim and the rather large bead on the bottom. This might be the reason that the Wombat 3 flies so far for a midrange, I can throw it about 80-85% the distance of my furthest flying distance driver, which is insane.

I highly recommend this disc to beginning players to help them throw straight shots, and to more advanced players who want a good mid range for hyzer flips and turnovers.

This disc fills a very particular spot in my bag. My go-to disc for those days when I have a case of the early release. Straight as an arrow when thrown flat with 50% power. Turns over like a dream when you put a little extra power into it...but beware of throwing this full power if you don't release it at 8 o'clock. She'll turn and burn before you can blink. Be gentle with her, and she won't let you down.

A unique utility midrange. Excellent for beginers, such as myself. This disc is understable, but also simultaneously torque resistant. What does that mean? It all equates to a very forgiving, but shapeable disc. You can throw forehand turnovers, long hyzer flips (backhand and forehand), controlled anhyzer backhands... you name it. It glides a very long way. For short approach shots, this thing comes out of your hand and holds a dead straight line when released flat with a forehand. The grip is a little strange at first because it's V-Tech, but once you get used to it, you can throw a multitude of shot shapes with confidence.

This disc is incredible. Super easy to throw and control. It holds straight for such a long time, with just a slight turn to it. The wombat 3 is perfect for hyzer flip to straight shots, and overall has one of the straightest flight paths out of any disc out there. This disc also has an incredible amount of glide so its easy to get distance with this disc. Overall the disc feels great in the hand and flies even better through the air.

I previously had this disc in the upper 150's in grams, and in DX plastic. I absolutely loved it. This disc goes dead straight and if you want it to, will finish just a bit to the right for a RHBH. After a bunch of tree hits though, I was having trouble with it going too far left, plus it was in a lower weight which may have had an effect. I wanted this disc but in a more durable plastic, so I now have it in champion at 168. What a great disc!!!! Feels great in your hand. If you have a dead straight shot, maybe with a slight turn to the right at the end, this disc is perfect! Has a good amount of glide too so it is also great for low ceiling shots! I will have one of these for a long time to come!

If you liked the Wombat, but are looking for a sleeker, flat profile, this will be a great disc for you. The flight is just like the original Wombat, but may a little less glide. It still has some stability, but you will want to pair it with something more stable.

My Combat Wombat3 is in Star plastic.  I had bought it some time before just to try it, and gave it another chance on a specific dogleg-right hole (I'm RHBH). The Wombat3 flies very well as a turnover disc and as a good disc in the woods.  It's not the disc you'll reach for in headwinds, but it's a lot of fun to throw in a number of situations requiring an understable or hyzerflip mid.

I recently got into the understable mid-range game after I acquired a DD Patrol from the Trilogy Challenge. I like how the Patrol flew on a handful of shots I tried but I am more of an Innova guy. I figured I would give the W3 a try since the numbers are close. Man I am glad I did. This disc exceeded my expectations. It holds any line I put it on. If I want it to go straight and release it flat with a tiny bit of hyzer it flies dead straight. On anny shots it holds the anhyzer for a very surprising amount of flight before it finally flattens out. It is a very handy disc that I would recommend to any skill level.
