For some reason this disc has an undeserved reputation. Yes it is domey, and yeah it can be kind of awkward to hold, and take up a lot of room in a bag, but it is the glidiest straightest flying disc on the market. This disc would take a ton of strokes off of most peoples game if they chose easy lines and threw this for par. I have to remind myself half the time that this disc is the best thing for a straight shot. I mean it be a laser straight shooter for up to 250/300 feet. I love it, not everybody does, but if you do, you definitely have an advantage when straight tunnel shots are needed.

This is definitely the most understand midrange I have ever thrown. I can release it on spoke hyper angle, and it will flip up,and turn into a roller. I got this disc for Christmas because I wanted a straight flying midrange. But because it came in 144 grams, and dx plastic,it was so stupid understable. This disc is also so domey,so it has a crazy amount of glide, and it also feels a little different than all the other discs in my bag in the hand. But overall this disc is incredible for beginners.

I have a Star Skeeter that I picked up on a whim (and a good price!) from Play It Again Sports, without really knowing anything about the disc.  Importantly, though, it's blue, which anyone who grew up watching Doug could tell you is the only acceptable color for a Skeeter.  So far, this is a very enigmatic disc.  I'm still figuring it out.

I have to respectfully disagree with the reviewers below who said that this disc is good at compensating for bad form.  If I roll my wrist with this disc, it will wobble for almost the whole flight and turn over to the right.  It's only when I get a very clean release that this disc flies straight.  But when this disc does fly straight, it goes very straight.  So far, I've only been able to achieve a good flight from this disc on medium power throws, and I've not experimented much with hyzer or anhyzer releases.  This disc really needs to have a fair bit of spin on it to fly well.  When I throw it with less spin, it tends to get a little wobbly.  For this reason, I wouldn't recommend a Skeeter to a newer player.

If you don't like domey discs, then you should stay far away from the Skeeter.  It is the domiest disc I've ever seen.  Its rim is actually fairly shallow, but when you combine that with the dome, you still get a very tall disc.  I've not had problems power gripping it, but I could imagine that people with different grips could have issues with this.

I found my Star Skeeter 170G wedged under a rock at a local course nearly destroyed. I took it home, cleaned it up and did my best to retun it to its original shape (turned out surprisingly well). I used it as a lender for new players for a long time before even throwing it and let me tell you I wish I had tried it sooner. This disk flies like no other disc I have ever thrown. If I throw it RHBH at about 75% to 80% power it will fly dead straight and right when it should fade (about 75% through its flight) it turns! Its like im throwing right handed and getting a left handed flight path. Every time somone sees me throw this disc for the first time they always have the same reaction "Wow...... What disc was that!?". So long story short, buy one, beat it to death and watch the magic happen!

I used a 170 Star Skeeter to compliment my Gator when I was new to the sport. It wasn't that bad until it broke in. It just became too unpredictable for me to throw after a season of hitting everything between me and the basket. Personally, I would much rather throw with a putter for low speed straight or anhyzer shots. For something a little further away I tend to reach for a Buzz. It's hard to argue a Skeeter is equal to or greater than a San Marino Roc or an SS Buzz. I would discourage others from buying this disc.
