Star sharks feel great in the hand and can take a beating! I inevitably reach for this as my scramble disc because it takes all shot shapes and all throwing styles well, at least in my experience. The shark works well off the tee too, if you're not having a good time/luck working with fairway drivers or distance drivers.

The Innova shark is definitely one of my favorites! When it comes to mid range discs there are only a couple I use more. The shark is a great straight flyer with a reliable fade. It's super easy to throw so newer players should definitely consider putting a couple in their bag. Personally I prefer the star plastic version. Definitely go get yourself one!

What do you want me to say? It's a four speed midrange, go back to sleep. It comes in the beginner pack, has a cool stamp, and will become your favorite go to disc for risky shots because its easily replaceable. The DX plastic will wear quick. I, ahhh, OH! There is one peculiar thing about this disc, and its a bit disappointing. It's right in this weird range of being able to turn over just a little tiny bit, but doesn't glide far enough to really take advantage of it. So, like the Leopard included in the starter pack, it works brilliantly for its niche, which is teaching new players how to throw a midrange.

    PROS: Great beginner midrange.

    CONS: Stuck in statistical limbo.

The Shark is basically a beadless Roc.  I got a Star Shark, 176g.  Star plastic is awesome, and the disc feels good in my hand.  In flight, the Star Shark is very similar to my Glow DX Roc (the only non-Roc3 Roc that I have).  The Star Shark flies pretty straight with some dump fade at the end.  It can handle power, and I was hyzer-flipping it on full power throws.

My Star Shark excelled at hyzer upshots/approaches to the basket.  From 100-120 feet out, it was very accurate, even into headwinds.  Overall, however, my Shark3 gets more distance and throws with similar accuracy, so I personally prefer the Shark3.  But if you're looking for Roc performance without the Roc's bead, try a Shark.
