GStar plastic gives the Shark extra flex and superior grip, especially in colder or wet conditions. It tends to fly slightly less stable than its Champion or Star counterparts, with added glide.

    GStar Details

GStar is a fantastic ultra premium plastic blend by Innova. The plastic offers a unique metallic shine that not only looks good, but it is also incredibly grippy and flexible (you can literally fold a GStar disc). This plastic blend is especially recommended for playing disc golf when it's cold outside.

This disc compared to the DX version is night and day different in my opinion. I could get the DX to turn pretty easily, even with my 350 foot arm. The GStar version flies true to its numbers in my opinion. I throw on slight hyzer and it flips to flat and glides straight majority of the flight before a small, reliable fade. A little deep and a little domey, which produces great glide. Very workable disc for most flight patterns. Since switching to Innova from Discraft, this is my current Buzzz until I get a Mako3. I highly recommend this disc in Gstar for a straight, reliable fading midrange.

My first disc was a DX Shark, and I'm sure a lot of people can say the same. I really liked both of my DX versions, but they both ended up in the drink at my local course. I decided to upgrade plastic to G-Star and I'm just as pleased with the mold. My only gripe about this disc is that it's hard for me to find a comfortable grip for either forehand or backhand. Regardless, the disc is very reliable and can still be added to the bag of someone who has a few rounds under their belt.

This is a must for all beginners looking for a reliable disc that is very stable and easy to throw.  I carried either a DX or GStar shark in my bag for a while now and love the GStar version for its ability to grab the chains or ground.  Both plastics initially exhibit flight characteristics that are spot on with the numbers posted by Innova, but I have found that the DX beats in to have a little less fade than the GStar.  Finally, this is one of my favorite discs to use when playing a single disc round.  Its great off the tee, consistent as a midrange, and can work as a putter in a pinch.  Just a great all-around disc!

As a beginner, this was my favorite disc. Flies straight and has a little fade at the end. The DX one i had didnt even fade off at all after hitting a few trees and getting beaten in.

The strange thing about this disc for me is that the harder i throw it, the harder it fades at the end of its flight. Its actually seems more stable now that i throw harder. I mostly use it for upshots and shorter holes (under 300') so im never really letting it rip, but it works well in that role and glides forever!

My GStar Shark is my go to for 150-250 ft. shots.  If thrown level with a decent amount of power, it will fly straight forever.  It's a great disc off the tee on wooded, short courses.  I personally believe my GStar Shark does not fade as much as Innova says it does, but honestly I find that to be a good thing.  I recommend RocX3 for a harder fading midrange as it will fade everytime no matter how you throw it.

Edit: A couple months later of throwing this disc, and the more I throw it, the more understable it becomes.  It now flies with a turn and almost no fade.

My favorite disc in my bag it is the best disc to throw into the wind it flies so straight and  stays on the flight pattern you throw. My dad can almost outdrive my friend who uses a distance driver with a speed of 13 my dad is really good at throwing the shark on short holes he has aced like 6 times with the shrak it is overall a really great disc to buy.
