Im not sure I've thrown any other disc like the Star Mirage. It's very understable (but not comically so), has an incredibly thin and shallow wing, and glides so easily. The disc excels at creating distance when you are not able to put very much behind the throw. All it needs is a little wrist flick and it will go sailing down the fairway either dead straight or lazily drifting right (RHBH). It's a wonderful flyer.

Im guessing it's extremely us in DX plastic, but in star it does get a little fade, still very reliably understable and very comfortable for touch forehands, great disc!

Really understable fun for everyone. Beginner should have fun keeping this straight or learning some turn.

This started out being a tester that I used on my short home hole that needs a perfectly straight shot. First throw I threw and I nestled it right up to the basket. I fell in love on first throw and just had to work with this disc. Two days later I aced my home hole. This disc is definitely understable but not like you'd think. Thrown flat and it's just a slow drift to the right. The vtech rim and bead make this a very workable disc. I have never had it turn over unless I want it to. Great disc for a beginner that's having left or right hook issues. I love this disc.

If you need a predictable disc that can hold an anhyzer line all the way, this is it. The rim is small which feels weird compared to other putters, so it takes a little getting used to.

I like to hyzer flip this for straight ~200ft drives or to get around right hand dog legs on short holes. Its also good for approach shots and barely fades out at the end. A great tool for the bag.

My go to for anhyzer putts, holds the line great.   Can also be used for low ceiling putts, can handle a decent hyzer release.

The Mirage is one of my favorite discs to throw, and I wish I had found it sooner into my disc golf journey. This is a great disc for beginners who have trouble getting their discs to fly straight before fading. The insane amount of turn this disc has will definitely help newer players and those with slower arm speeds. As I've gotten better this disc has been great for slow speed approaches, as well as driving off the tee when I need a big backhand turnover shot. I will say, if you turn this disc over, it is probably not coming back. It also has a lot of glide for a low profile disc, I've been able to get it as far as some of my fairway drivers.

Background: I am a 912 rated player and my max distance is ~450 feet.

    172g Star Mirage

As a right-hand backhand exclusive player, the Mirage is a staple in my bag for any course I play. This disc is super useful for my game and I haven't yet been able to find another disc that comes close to filling this slot for me. Thrown at full power, the Mirage will turn over quickly and hold the turn for its entire flight. My favorite types of shots to throw with the Mirage are hyzer flips, and I can always trust this disc to flip and turn right. It has great glide and I can push the Mirage around 290 feet. It is very shallow which is unique for a putter but I find it extremely comfortable. It is also the disc I give to any beginner to help them throw straight. I can't imagine not having the Mirage in my bag, it is an excellent woods disc and if I need a shot to go right, I am almost always throwing my Mirage.

Almost perfect. I'm still hunting for that right amount of flip disc for shorter holes in that 220-230 range. This disc works but is a tad too flippy for me. I would compare this to a SOL but the SOL is much straighter and longer, probably because it can handle some power.

Innova, MAKE THIS DISC IN STIFF CHAMPION and it would be PERFECT I think. It would take some flippiness off of it. So I'm looking for a slower flippy SOL or a stable Mirage. For reference I have many flippy midranges but they go too far, for the slot I am trying to fill. I'm looking for a flippy putter.

There are not that many flippy putters that are shallow. So Innova run this in Champion and I'll buy 5.

My buddies always call this a cheater disc, and I'm inclined to agree.  One of the best utility discs I've come across.

If you don't hae a good forehand, and want a low effort consistent, smooth turnover backhand for left to right shots, this is the disc for you. I throw it at around 50-70% power for buttery turnover shots in the 150-200 foot range.  I can't express enough how many strokes this takes off my game for tight fairways and gaps that need that right finish (on a rhbh).

You can also really power down your throw on this disc and get it to go dead straight on anything 100 feet and under, and you're guaranteed to get next to no fade.

The icing on the cake is that you get this wonderful amount of understability out of the box in a premium plastic, meaning you don't have to beat it in to the right flight, and its out of the box flight will remain consistent for a long time, thanks to the durability of the star plastic.

Star Mirage (150g) - This is one of the best discs that I bought for my wife. She doesn't have a ton of armspeed so I asked for some advice about the most understable lightweight putter available and they pointed me in this direction. Sure enough, it fit comfortably in her hand due to the lower profile and thin rim. And it was understable enough and light enough that she could throw a nice straight line or gently hyzer flip it and get it to turn over. If you're in the market for an understable putter this is a great place to start. Innova used to make other understable mids like the Stingray, Wedge, and Kite and this might be sort of the continuation of those in one slightly slower disc. Its a lot lower profile than those other discs though and it made it a little more comfortable for her to throw.

My go to driving putter in star plastic. Start on small hyzer and it will flip up for me and gently turnover. First disc I was able to "turnover" when newish in premium plastic at Max weight. Players with bigger arms may find it too Flippy, but may make great roller putter

Traded a friend for this disc and I don't regret it one bit. This disc does just about everything I couldn't do with other discs. Rollers, great. Hyzer flip, great. It holds a fabulous anhyzer line when a forehand just won't do it. I have also started using it for putting since all of my other puts tend to fall left. Great disc, would recommend

    Star 175g

I bought this disc to help me dial in my form. Because it is so understable you really have to be fine tuned in your release angle and power or this thing is flipping over, making hyzers damn near impossible

I found that the tiniest flick will send this thing a lot further than you'd expect, smoothness is key. i've had success with putts outside 50 due to it's ease of flight and straight path. extremely glidey

God awful for push putting. I normally use a dp2, this is the opposite. Very shallow but still has a decent dome leads to tricky feeling release angles.

Kinda feels like a lower profile dart with smaller beaded rim.

best uses= nose up approaches, longer spin putts

worst uses= push putting, hyzer shots

It's a midrange that glides and turns, just as advertised.  Get the nose up just a bit and you don't have to worry about a cut roll.  Or, if you are going down a tunnel, hyzer-flip along the left side of the tunnel (RHBH) and rest assured that the disc will not fade left.  Very controllable.  It's a more flippy dart.

this disc is a great touch hyper flip short wooded hole disc thrown fh. I do not know why innova insists on putting stupid domes on all there discs but once I put it in the disc flatten er this disc was money. Won't flip and hold so takes a little time to figure out how much power to put on this disc to flip to straight or flip and turn over. I fh this disc. kinda a secret weapon disc.

    175g Star, "It's a boy" Blue

Well this is a very interesting disc. Almost feels like a beaded, understable Dart. Decent-sized dome, but one of the shallowest rims I've used to date. I have smaller than average hands, so I usually struggle to get a "connected" grip on putters for driving. But I can grip this disc like most midranges. I'm even finding that a power grip feels nice with this.

Thrown flat with some pop, you'd think with a -3 turn rating that this thing would just turn and burn, but that's not the case. Don't get me wrong, it's not coming back, but it's one of the smoothest turnover lines I've ever seen. If you've ever thrown a Westside Tursas, this is like a slower version of that. It's got some pretty fantastic glide on it as well. My only gripe would maybe be that I have to put a little bit more speed on it than I was hoping for. it definitely throws more like a putter / mid tweener disc (say maybe a speed 4) than it does a putter. Hyzer-flipping this thing is a thing of beauty. Again, SO smooth in it's transition and will just finish on whatever line it flips to (flat or slight anny). I briefly tried rolling it, and it seems serviceable if you're you looking for a short roller. Throw it high on an anny (or even close to flat), and it'll turn turn turn turn turn. I didn't even see too much in the way of cut-rolls either, because the anny line is so smooth if you let the disc do the work.

I'd say this would be a great disc for a beginner. Especially because as they get better, they can then use this disc to learn hyzer-flips and rollers. Power throwers most likely need not apply. Im somewhere in between (450ft max distance), and no forehand to speak of. So this disc has a lot of use for me, especially in woods where a hyzer-flip or slow turn could be invaluable.

This is the most untestable putt/approach disc out there in my opinion. I currently bag 2 Swans 1 BT Medium and 1 Megasoft and they have their place permenantly in my bag as i don't have a flick shot i rely on my anhyzer lines. The mirage is 2x more understable than the swan. the swan you still need to put some anny on it if you want a nice anhyser shot unless you throw it flat with a lot of pop and risk a cut roll, with the mirage you can literally throw it straight and it will just go right if you throw RHBH. If you have the swan you'll know what im talking about. Cant wait for it to come out in other plastics, an r-pro or pro mirage would be absolutely dirty.

I have a nice 175 star purple buddy. It took me some time to get the hang of this utility disc. As a RHBH guy, it is big league for me on short right turning holes. When released with some hyzer it flips up straight and starts to gently turn right. Almost got an ace after only using it for about 2 months so it's staying in the bag. For actual putting I don't like the feel of it. For longer out of the circle putts it could be decent. But for short drives and approaches where ya need some turn, this disc is amazing. Be careful with that wrist snap though, huck it too hard and it nose dives right into the ground!

I had not planned on getting a Mirage, but was offered a proto-star one at a discount price.  After working out with it, here are my findings:

    1.  The Mirage is a very shallow disc in the hand.  If you like shallow discs, you will like this disc.  If you like deeper dishes, the Mirage may not be right for you.  2. The Mirage is a very glide-y disc.  From 120 ft. out I threw a Stud, Colt and Mirage.  The Stud and Colt were parked.  The Mirage went right at the basket... and clean over it, going past by 25 ft.   On a hyzer flip, it'll get amazing distance if it's not torqued.

The Good:  Thrown at 50% or less power, the Mirage will fly straight at its intended target.  Thrown with more power, it is a turnover disc and has great range.  The Mirage replaced the Prodigy M4 in my bag;  the Mirage is really a speed 5 class of midrange disc, as opposed to the approach ranges of the Stud and Colt.

The Bad:  This disc is very touchy and requires that you work with it a LOT to get to know how it flies.  You will have to learn how to significantly power down on approaches, and how to throw it at correct angles so that it does not "turn and burn" on you.  If you master it, it can be a workhorse disc, but you have to be very consistent or it can sail on you or become an ugly unintended cut roller.

All in all, the Mirage will be a good beginner disc, good for children and very weak arms to use.  It can also be a good touch/niche disc for finesse shots.  However, many experienced players will not find it as useful nor want to take the time needed to work with it.

I like the Mirage! I tried it out on flat, uphill, and downhill shots alike. It is understable, but one must give it a little credit before throwing. It does take a LITTLE bit of power to flip this disc over, but it's not like a Sonic or DX Wedge that will flip almost effortlessly. This disc is going to be a great turnover disc for those with lower arm speeds, and is going to fit nicely in the hand for those that prefer low profile putters. For those with more power, this disc is to only be released on a hyzer angle. I throw about 400 feet average and max about 475, and I could not keep this disc in the air on a flat throw both times I released it flat. If I released it on a big hyzer angle, it would pop up and ride forever. With a less aggressive hyzer, this disc produced a very nice turnover shot. I think this disc can be a good fit for anyone looking for a new understable putter. It is very similar to a Wedge

I swear this disc is a beaded Wedge. It's very similar in shape and domeyness. While it's domey, the flight plate seems very thin. As for flight, tt's definitely understable and quite floaty.  I'd say it's pretty accurate to it's numbers because it doesn't really come back at the end of it's flight. I feel like this disc would be great for beginners off the tee and for the putt.  I'm excited for it to come out in more plastics and in stock release so I can recommend it to all of my beginner disc golfer in training friends!

The Mirage is more of a mid-range / putter hybrid. It works nicely as an approach disc, as long as you're looking for a straight or understable shot. I could see it working nicely as a putter for longer distances, since it glides nicely and keeps a solid line. It was a bit too understable for putter drivers, but works fine in place of an understable midrange for anhyzer throws. I could see the mirage being very friendly to beginning playeers who are just seeking that easy-to-throw disc that flies in a straight line.

The Mirage is a "fun" disc to throw. What i mean is it is a super glidey disc that is fun to watch in the air. I'm never a fan of understable putters and midranges, and this disc is very understable, so I don't think it will find a place in my bag. That being said, it is a workable understable flight. I could release it on a stiff hyzer and it would pop up, turn over, and hold that line forever with minimal fade. I think this is a great all around disc for beginning players who are looking for one disc that they can do everything with.

I just got the MIRAGE yesterday and I already love it. My go to putter is the COLT with the WHALE not far behind. The MIRAGE is super low-profile, it's thinner than my COLT, I liked the feel of this disc as soon as I held it. I played two rounds with it and tried it for many different shots. With some power behind it the disc turns over just like you think it would according to the numbers but sometimes you need that type of shot. For some shorter upshots and approach shots it works great and it thumbs well, at least it did for me. Just like any disc everyone will have their own opinion about how it performs but for me the MIRAGE is going to stay in my bag, it fits me just right.
