Took my 180g F2 Star, my 176g INNFUSE Star, and my 180g KC Pro out to Innova/MVP mid-range field work today. I'm sick of jumping between mids so I went with intention of finding what my stable slot is going to be. I've always loved my baby blue F2 Star's look and feel, and used it a bit a while ago, but for whatever reason, I thought that I liked beadless mids more. Well lately I'm finding that that's not necessarily true. I even pulled my INNFUSE off the wall to add to the mix, along with my KC Pro. Guess which mold was more consistently accurate and long than most of the others I tested (Roc3, Roc, Mako3, Coyote, Super Stingray, Reactor, Hex)? You guessed it. Rawwwwwwr. I say "most" because my Star Metal Warrior (MD3) was right there next to the Star Lions. The KC Pro was the longest, but I'm not really counting that, my DX Roc3s also bombed. For premium plastics out there today, it was the Lion and the MD3. Their flights are very similar to me at this point, 5/5/0/2 on both. Need to put the Lion and MD3 thru the ringer at the next field sesh and see who comes out on top. Regardless if it makes my bag or not, the Lion is a fantastic disc. I need to try a Halo.

I carry a lot of mids and this is my mid for shots where I need a soft landing into the green with minimal skip. It usually sticks or slides perfectly towards the pin. It's easier to throw than approach discs but settles into the green like an approach disc.

Love this disc. Seems suspiciously like a re-marketed vroc but who cares it's an awesome straight but certainly able to turn over a little at faster speeds and gentle fade.. a little sharper fade than a dx roc but less fade than a RanchoRoc. It's like a big bigger beefier Manta.. which is a super awesome underrated understable compliment to the lion or the vroc

I found a Star Lion at my local course, and before returning it I got to throw it on a few holes. Now I own one personally, and man is it awesome! It's already good for consistent backhand throws with a reliable fade. But the one thing I use it for consistently is for sidearm approaches! I can easily hyzer around trees that may be getting in the way of a clean look at the basket. Whether you need a utility disc for attacking at short range, or need a midrange off the tee that will fly and land just as it's intended to, get yourself a Lion.

Bought this disc based off of the description and of course the artwork for it. I mean come on.. we need more of this from innova but anyways love this disc. It is currently the only midrange in my bag not counting the zone. It is somewhat beginner friendly because of how well it matches the angle you put it on. Out of the hand this disc will show you exactly what your miss was and when you dial your angles in this disc can do it all! The fade is consistent and this disc will fly straighter for a little longer than your other mid ranges not including the buzzz but will be more consistent in the wind than your buzzz.

Been playing for less than 2 years and this has became a must have in my bag. I purchased my second one to add to my bag because I got my first ace with my original and I almost lost it.. cant have that happening again.

A lot of people love Roc's, which are great discs, but since I found the Lion it has become my favorite mid-range disc! Not only is the Star stamp super cool looking, but it feels just as good in your hand.

It's not the most overstable mid-range, but that's what I love about it. If you throw it flat, it will fly super straight and fade out reliably. If you throw it on a hyzer-line, it will hold that line without fading out of it.

It's not the most beginner friendly disc, but for an intermediate player, this can be the most trusty disc in your bag (I haven't got it to turn over). My one complaint is that I haven't been able to use it forehand  too much - but that's more of me than the disc.

I thought this disc would be amazing.  I also only had this or three other discs to choose from during a tournament raffle.  First when I got this disc I had Big Z Buzzzs, and I thought this disc would be perfect for when I needed something more overstable than a buzzz.  I throw a lot of forehands, and this disc just does not feel right.  The bead is just painful for me.  The flight is just not as overstable as I thought it would be.  I noticed this disc (maybe because of the rim) had a lot of wobble to it.  Even on backhands, I did not like the disc because of its rim.  I can not throw Rocs either due to the rim.  I would reccomend a Buzzz if you need a midrange.  I currently have buzzzs, a zone, and buzzz OS.  That is all I need for midranges.

I thought this disc was the dumbest thing ever when I first got it and threw it. I’ve been playing less than six months so of course 90% of the reason I bought this in the first place was that it looked awesome. So you may be wondering, “HEY BUDDY, WHY WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THIS DISC AS VERY BEGINNER FRIENDLY??” Well listen here, buddy! The Star Lion is incapable of telling a lie. You will know EXACTLY how you are throwing once this thing leaves your hand. Whatever line you put it in, it will not deviate from that line for the duration of the flight. It says it has a fade of 2, but I had a friend describe it as “more like it has a 2% chance of fading at all”, which may be more accurate! So, at least for me, this is a top-notch form-check disc. Any skill level could benefit from throwing it to refine their lines. And it feels fantastic in hand to boot! If you use this for a one-disc round, I feel like you’ll become a better disc golfer, I know it’s helped me!

I'm so happy with the Lion. It's the perfect in between on the Mako3 and Roc3. It's currently my go-to midrange. Threw my first ace with it not even a week ago! I highly recommend this disc to any level of player it is a very forgiving disc.

I primarily like the feel of the Lion, which is very similar to the Infinite Discs RA which was released a few months earlier. It has a bead on the rim which, for me, provides for a smooth and easy release. Together with the flat top, it is the style of mid-range that I really like to throw-- shallow rim, flat top, and designed to handle some torque, fly straight, and still fade moderately at the end. While it may be similar to a lot of other mids on the market, it's all about personal taste, and I like the feel of this one.

I was beyond excited for the Lion. I throw Gilas as my main mid and I wanted the Lion to be the straighter companion mold....

The Lion is actually pretty OS compared to how it was billed. It is much closer to the Roc3 than the Mako3 despite sharing mold pieces. The glide is decent and it'll turn a tad of you torque it.

Overall it's not a bad disc but it's just way too similar to the Rocs and Gilas I throw without brining anything new to the table.
