This disc has many different characteristics depending what plastic type you get. Star is the most overstable, but it is not too overstable. Champion is straight and true with fade at the end. The DX is very straight and beats in to a turning disc really quick.

The disc is very comfortable in the hand with a lower profile and a small bead on the bottom. I would say its a less overstable Roc that has a wide variety of uses. It flies very straight with reliable fade off of a backhand throw. I also really enjoy the star plastic variation for forehand turnover get out of trouble shots. It holds the line you put it on and maintains a true flight in the wind.

Definitely a disc to check out if you are not already set on one of Innova's 9000 other midranges. Seriously then need to cool it with the mids. They already have too many that fly nearly identical (Roc, Lion, Shark, Avatar, Roc3, Shark3, Spider etc.)

All that said it is still a great disc and one to check out for sure especially with the cool Lion artwork.

I bought thus disc just to try it out. While I am not yet in love with it and still prefer a RocX3 or overstable, and a shark for straighter shots, I think this disc has potential.

I put a crap-ton of torque on my throws due to a wrist injury that causes me to hold the disc strange. When throwing the Lion, I saw zero fade and actually got a few degrees of turn, almost like a Wombat3. I like the flat top for the great grip I got both forehand and backhand, however the 4 glide is absolutely not true. I would say it is more of a three or a two, at least in the DX plastic and is one of those discs like a Croc or AviarX3 that will go only as far as you throw it.

As I said, this may eventually work its way into my rotation, and who knows, possibly my bag as I like low glide / overstable discs (Firebird, Croc, RocX3, AviarX3, Monster are all in my bag), but this seems to fill a similar role to my Atlas, which I just find more comfortable to throw.

I bought this looking for an overstable midrange. It's not quite as overstable as I thought it would be but does have a slight consistent finish. With that said you can point and shoot and it will hold that angle for a long while before finishing at the end. Easy to throw. For me it throws like a slightly overstable buzzz.

I got this disc as an F2 in Star plastic and am a big fan. I'm not usually a fan of beaded mid ranges, but this one just feels so great in my hand.

I use this disc for forehand drives. The Lion can be trusted to hold up to the torque of a forehand drive without much wobble or early flight turn that a lot of stable mid ranges experience. The disc flies very straight a long time before the end of flight low speed fade. I've found this disc to hold the straight flight a lot longer than my EMAC Truth before fading out. I can throw this disc anhyzer and it mostly holds the line with a little bit of fight at the end, but not as much as I expected. This disc is quickly becoming one of my more versatile discs.

I recommend this disc strongly for anyone who is more forehand dominant and in need of more stable Mid-Ranges.

This disc is not as overstable as the numbers say, it has consistent fade but will absolutely turn if given power or anhyzer. Maybe I got a different run than most but this disc is not as consistent as my rival or my roc3 for overstable shots but still has earned a place in my bad for mild right to left (RHBH) shots. This disc is likely a better option for players better than I am as it responds well to release angles and flies as you would expect it to. I also find this disc to not glide as well as some of my other mids.

The lion is a great stable mid range that will do almost anything you want it to do. I love throwing this disc flat and watching it get a slight flip up but not a ton of turn and knowing it will come back with a consistent fade. This disc holds great the hyzer angle you put on it with enough glide to fly right where you are aiming. I can throw it on anhyzer and it will hold the angle for most of the flight before it starts to pan out getting a really nice long flight. The lion is a great disc for whatever you need it to be. It might not be the best midrange for new players because it is on the stable side but if you have been playing for a little while you will find many uses the lion is good for. More experienced players will find a workhorse midrange that you can manipulate pretty well. I love the feel of the lion in the hands, I feel like I get a consistent release and a consistent flight. If you are looking for a workhorse mid range that can handle power well and will be very consistent check out the lion.

The lion is a great mid-range that doesn't get enough credit. First of all the glide on this disc is amazing More so than a roc. This disc has a nice feel in the hand with a mostly flat top. I'd compare the flight of this disc to a new champion Roc3, however this disc will get more glide. The fade on the lion is very mellow, in that the disc slowly moves left starting about 2/3 of the way through the flight. This disc will hold an anhyzer very well too, and holds up to a ton of power. This is my go to disc for just about anything from 250-350 feet.
