The Kite is a midrange disc that every beginner will want in their bag. For beginners, this disc flies like a driver with the grip of a putter. New players who don’t have the strength or experience of seasoned players can still get really good distance from the Kite. This disc flies incredibly straight on low speed approach shots, and has minimal fade. For intermediate players the Kite is great for turnover shots and controlled approaches.

Star Kite (175g) - I have really liked this disc. It is really easy to throw a flex backhand when the disc is new. When I was learning technique and building arm-speed it was an excellent disc to get max distance in narrow fairways. Now that its been beaten-in, it is my go-to backhand turnover disc to finish right. I would certainly recommend this disc to new players. As others have said though, the dome is huge, but if it fits in your hand its worth it.

I had this disc in DX and it was 175. I wasn't a real fan of the flight or the feel in particular, but then again I have thrown 100's of disc and am fairly OCD when it comes to my preferences. It was a little more erratic then larger midrange discs I have thrown and I would say the glide is more a 5. But I can see many love this disc. It is still great fun to throw, but not one I bag again.

Excellent turnover disc, if you're like me trunover shots are a struggle. The kite is classified as a midrange, but the rim feels more like a driver, this makes it easier for me, who would prefer to throw a driver over a mid, to throw a low speed precision turnover shot without worrying that the disc wont fade out too soon. The low speed makes it so you can throw a kite on a hyzer and still have it finish to the right or even dead straight if you practice enouth with the kite. This disc fits between my TL and my p2 for range and it gets a ton of use for tunnel shots and tree shots. If you practice enough with this dosc you can get out of a lot of trouble. Don't underestimate this discs distance,  it goes just as far as my fairway drivers.

I actually hate the massive dome on this thing. Give me a flat topped cobra for the under stable mid slot. The kite also skips a lot. This can sometimes be problematic if you are trying to be very precise.
