The Innova Jay is a micro-beaded Mid-Range with a true-to-release flight, and it will be a staple in bags everywhere. This all-purpose disc can handle power or be finessed. It has better torque resistance than most Mid-Ranges, but still finishes straight. It is one of Innova's most point-and-shoot discs on the market. The Jay’s low-profile design fits comfortably in your hand for a clean release every throw.

Bought this for my kids in a light weight. Color me surprised when I was able to put some power into it and get a dead straight flight for 300 feet with a slight fade. This is about as point and shoot as it gets but more trustable than a buzz or a md3 if you don't want a little turn. If I lose my MD3 I may be loading up on these.

It's a buzzz. I mean it's not actually a buzzz, but it's a buzzz. The big difference between the molds is the jay has a convex rim. Saw someone refer to this disc as the coyoteX3. Dunno about all that but the bottom plate, and specifically the rim is similar. Definitely has the flat top. Torque resistant, straight flight, gentle but reliable fade. The jay is a solid midrange.

    Medium dome Champion 180 grams.

I read some other reviews and maybe I got a freak but mine has some decent dome to it. Flight wise it's very straight to a reliable soft fade. Even into a slight wind it really didn't turn over. I like the disc quite a bit just not sure if it'll make the bag or not. I don't love the feel but it's pretty good. I might say 4.5 stars.

The Jay does what you tell it to period. Right Hand Backhand throw hyzer minimal flip up to fade left, flat straight as a dart with minimal fade left, anhyzer release it will ride the angle to the ground but not in a turn an burn fashion. All my buddies complement the disc. must have midrange IMO. Better than Mako. Go champion plastic you won't regret the few extra bucks.

I got the Jay as a more stable compliment to my favorite midrange, the Star VRoc, and something that I could flick.  I find that the Jay is mostly that.  Thrown backhand flat and hard the Jay stays straight and just starts to fade at the end of its flight.  Give it a little anny and it will hold the turn until just before it runs out of steam.  Give it hyzer and it will hold smoothly the whole flight.  My criticisms of the disc revolve around its performance in the wind, downhill, and forehand.  In a headwind the Jay will turn over, and thrown downhill it has a tendency to do the same.  It really seems that once it gets up above it's comfort speed, it really wants to flip.  Personally, I can't flick this disc, as it wants to burn out.  I'm comfortable flicking my VRoc on a slight turnover line or straight, and I was hoping that the Jay would be similar just a touch a faster/further, but I haven't been able to figure it out.  TLDR, really good feel for straight backhand power shots, iffy into headwinds and downhill, not great for (my) forehand.

Champion Max weight. Id agree that this disc doesn't have quite the glide I'd expect, this disc does everything I want it to. I needed something in between my Pathfinder and Mako3. It is quite point and shoot but not as touchy as a Mako3. I found that disc to turn with any kind of power and needed something that would fight it ever so slightly. So if you have a knack for adding a slight anny on a flat release this is the disc you're looking for. I have also noticed it works quite well as a hyzer flip when thrown with a lot of power.

Talk about a point and shoot disc. I won one at my leagues give away and I couldn't be happier. So reliable that I used it the day after I got it in a tournament for almost all of my approach shots.

It feels like a further flying, more stable putter has some turn if you really crank on it and only a small amount of fade on softer throws.

It will live right next to my Roc3 for when the Roc3 is too stable. Love the thing

Feels great in the hand too with the microbead.

I agree with Jay. Even though the flight numbers elude to a straight fling disc with no turn and a minimal fade I was expecting it to fly like a midrange Destroyer.

I have a max weight Champion Jay. I bought this disc because it has my name, but also because I was intrigued by its numbers and shape. I thought it could be like a more stable to overstable Buzzz. While it really does have a similar feel to the Buzzz, it doesn't seem to want to stay in the air like a Buzzz. It really wants to just go dead straight and then just fall. Not much fade, not much turn when thrown flat, but also not much distance. It doesn't even seem to have as much glide as something like a Roc3 or Verdict which are much more overstable discs than the Jay.

That being said, Dave Dunipace said it right when he said it is Innova's most point-and-shoot midrange ever. It really does go perfectly straight without much fade at all. Really good approach disc if you are a little out of putter distance.

We will see if it begins to glide more and really fly as it beats in, but it is a good disc.
