Was looking for a good disc for my 6 yo kid with neutral flight path, but not midrange that usually have deep rim, so he can throw it forehand too. Also my bag also required a straight flyer, when I play without my son. Something similar to Latitude 64 River https://infinitediscs.com/latitude-64-river?Resp=462834997. But since I could not get used to River when I tried it, I gave Hawkeye a shot.

I was instantly impressed, as it flew very straight in the tree tunnel on the very first BH try of this disc. The disc flies pretty straight with slight fade in the end, when thrown softly, or goes hyzer-flip, or soft S-curve, when thrown harder. But if thrown very hard it will eventually flip over and burn to the ground fast, as it is not very torque resistant. Another thing is it glides forever, longer than all the other 7 speed discs I tried, so I will rate it as 6 or 7.

    • Tunnel shots
    • Long glide
    • Beginner friendly
    • Forehand friendly

The Star Hawkeye is one of the straightest flying fairway drivers I've ever thrown. When I say straightest, not only do I mean neutral (stable) landing zone, but also its path throughout its flight. It has very little lateral movement on flat throws, either turn or fade. Innova somehow managed this while still providing the disc with decent torque resistance and excellent glide. This disc will fly a long way for a 7 speed driver and it wants to fly there on the straightest path possible. A superb disc by Innova.

The Hawkeye recently made the bag as I have been searching for that Neutral Fairway. I have tried several other discs in this slot, River, FD, Leopard3, Crave, and so on. This one fits the bill the best so far for me. I have been testing it against a Star Leopard3 that I have and I prefer the Hawkeye. They have similar flights, but the Leopard3's rim is oddly sharper? Specifically the underside where the tips of my fingers go. I'm not sure if it's just the one I have or what, but the Hawkeye's underside is definitely smoother and I get super clean releases on it. It is definitely very straight with a small fade at the end. Depending on your arm speed, this can flip up on a baby hyzer and just ride. The Hawkeye is one of the few 7 speeds I can get out to 300 ft reliably. I would love to try it in Halo and GStar to see how the plastics affect the flight. Super solid disc.

I have both the star and champion versions of the hawkeye.  Was looking for a FD replacement as those are sometimes hard to come by.  Very very similar to the FD.  Flight, feel, distance, are all FD-like.  Personally, preferred the feel of the star plastic over the champion plastic one.  I like how these are more available and cheaper than the FD but basically similar in every other way to the FD.

The Hawkeye is a wonderful disc. In star plastic it feels like a faster midrange, dead straight and very shapeable. On hyzer it will flip to flat but not over and then fade at the end of the flight. It flies much like a longer Buzzz when thrown flat. On anhyzer it will hold the anny through the duration of the flight without burning over, typically lands fairly flat and won't cut roll.

This disc is essentially the old star fds from discmania. It is a very straight fairway driver that beats in to a flippy disc that is reliable on hyzer flips. It is very stable in the sense that it goes very straight and has a lot of glide. Whether you throw it on a hyzer and watch it flip to flat, throw it flat and watch it navigate fairway trees, or throw it on anhyzer for backhand turnover shots, this disc can find its way into your bag very easily. It is very beginner friendly and may be a good first disc for someone to try when getting into the sport. It is even useful for rollers for people with higher arms speeds or people that need it to do so. It is one disc that does it all and can shave off a couple strokes from someone's score.

This disc held any line I put it on and feels similar to a Teebird . Highly recommend to all skill levels.
