The classic Aviar is great for beginners learning to control their putts, as we all know. As someone who has been figuring this out for 4 years I have come full circle and am loving these. I am push/Spush putter and long story short, the lack of fade that these have compared to the regular Aviars is fantastic. "Point and shoot" is often misused but with these, I imagine I'm sliding it across a single string and the disc only changes in elevation, almost no horizontal movement. It's like tossing a ball under-hand.

One of my all time favorite putters. It flies dead straight, so it takes all of the guess work out of aiming. The plastic is nice and firm, but still has some grip. The stamp looks awesome. This putter also catches great, since it has very minimal fade, and wants to just drop in once it catches the chains. Since it is a straight flying putter it is hard to fight the wind with it, but otherwise it is just a simple, enjoyable putter

I don't know what it is, but I like the classic SO much more than the putt and approach. Could be the awesome stamp from the 80's or the stiffer feeling plastic. But if I had to have a non beaded aviar this would be the one.

Had a p&a in my starter pack years ago and slowly switched to beaded putters for a long while. While they helped me find my grip, I didn't feel that "slice of home in my hands" until I brought back the aviar classic. Pops out so well and makes the shot much more of a 'just get the height and you're golden' mindset, improving my putt game dramatically. Usually throw a JK but can throw and flick these with good turnover if necessary.

I've tried many putters and landed on this one because I liked the stamp and liked the price. Love how dead straight it flies with putts. I don't throw them at all but putting I love the glide and straightness.

I understand why some players love the classic Aviar, but I'm just not one of them. The depth and shape of the rim make it very uncomfortable to use for anyone with smaller hands; if you're one of these people then I'd recommend a more shallow putter along the lines of a Bullfrog, Reko, Maiden.

This is definitely my favorite version of my favorite putter from Innova. I have it in max weight and I love it. I love the stiffness this disc has. There's just something about stepping up to put with an Aviar that gives confidence and trust that you need to find chains. This is as point and shoot as it gets for a putter, so if you are confident in your aim, this may be the disc to putt with. As far as approaches, this disc excels here too. It holds hyzer lines as well as anhyzer lines. When thrown hard and flat it responds well and even has a subtle turn. It just doesn't get much better than this. This disc is also very useful beat in as it became a little more understable for me. With that being said, I usually use a few different ones with different levels of stability so that I have one for every angle I need. Like I said, it doesn't get much better than a classic aviar. There's a reason it may be the worlds most popular putter. I would probably recommend this to any beginner to use as their first putter.

Like most people, I had an Aviar in my beginner pack and loved the way it felt. Tried a couple other putters but always found myself coming back to the Aviar. I wanted an even straighter version of the current Aviar, so I went for the Aviar Classic. Once it's beat in a little, the disc does like to fade a bit. So, beware.

I actually have three Aviar Classics. Two for putting and one for throwing off the tee. It's not the best putter for throwing off the tee, but it gets the job done. Because it goes so straight, I've come very close to getting aces on 180-200ft holes just by aiming for the basket.

I may try some other putters soon, but the Classic has been serving me well for the time being. Recommend for beginners and those wanting a piece of disc golf history in their hands every time they put. Cool stamp, too!

The aviar classic was a disc I wanted because I liked my aviar when I first started and wanted to pick up a stiffer version that I could use off the tee and for approaches. I really liked this disc for approaches but it got beat up quickly and was not the best for on the tee. I have not spent much  time putting with it since I liked my normal aviars. But I think there are certain people that would like this over the regular aviar because the disc is firmer and you can get a better grip in certain conditions. I think this disc is a great approach putter that is not overstable like a zone or pig, it is a great disc that can be worked in a lot of angles when you throw it to the basket. I think the glide is perfect for approaching because you won't glide past it but usually it is just enough to keep the disc in the air to get close. I do not throw my aviar classic anymore because I beat it in to much but I have thought about picking up a few more for that straight approach disc and as a turnover aproach disc because it holds the angle you put it on very well.

I like it.  Been festering around with different putters trying to find the right one.  I am not a power putter who can slam em into the chains.  Starting out I used the Aviar P n A due to store availability, but it was not working for me.  Next tried the colt because it was not as deep and it worked better, maybe because i was getting better, but was getting a fair amount of spit outs if i missed the chains and some serious rollers on hills when it landed on the rim.  Next tried the Rhyno in R-Pro to solve the spit out and roller problem and really liked it and it did wonders for my putting at 15 to 20 feet.  Moving farther out, my new putter of choice started hyzering into the basket which created new problems with side breezes.  Figuring it was because of the 3 fade I tried the bullfrog with a 1 fade....same problem.  Now im experimenting with the Aviar classic and my hyzering problems are gone and consistency has noticeably improved at the 20 foot mark. Just got 3 more for a short stack of 4 of em for practice putting along with my other practice stacks of colts, rhynos and bullfrogs that i test occasionally as i get better.  So far the aviar classic has been working the most reliably as a main putter. As of this post i only got 1 with 3 on the way.  I gave it a 4 rating due to availability of plastics.

This is the putter that I always suggest to beginners. It is a super straight putter with a really neutral feel in the hand: not to deep or to shallow, and is beadless which most beginners seem to prefer. The classic aviar DX plastic feels a bit stiffer than most other runs of DX. This mold of the aviar has a flat flight plate, but it feels like the curvature of the shoulder extends a little farther than most. If that sounds weird it's probably because I'm overthinking it. All in all its a great putter for first time players, and an excellent disc for running long putts because it stays straight for so long and has almost no fade.

If you are just getting started in disc golf I would recommend this disc for you. It is a great, straight putter as well as a great throwing putter for teaching form. The disc will go based on how you throw it. The Putt and Approach version of this disc seems to have a bit softer plastic then the Classic version, but other then that I can't really tell them apart. Overall a great disc for anyone.

Most classic aviars are very stiff, almost identical to KC pro. There are some that are a mix of stiff and soft dx which feel really, really nice for putting. I putted with stiff grid stamped aviars for a long time. You can't go wrong with them, slightly more shallow than a PandA Aviar or P2. I've moved on to beaded and softer putters; the Aviar just lacks weight distribution in the rim that I like in a putter.

For throwing, these discs are money. Zero fade, they hover down to the ground like a ufo landing. The stiff dx plastic holds up much better to treestrees normal dx. I cannot mash these full power, and I can't get these putters past 230, but for me it is very useful to have a mold I know won't go as far as other putters. Throw these with some touch and you will not be disappointed.

If you find the Nova too deep or bulky, give this disc a shot, it flies nearly identical but is much shallower.

Nice straight flying approach & putter! Works well when you need to hold an anhyzer line around a tree or such. If I'm throwing with enough power for a decent length approach it will start to turn over on me, where my wizards being overstable will hold straight pretty well.  Has a pretty deep top plate, where I prefer the shallower wizard profile, but for putters it's all about personal preference.

This is a solid putter. Nice grip and quite stiff. Almost as stiff as McPro and significantly stiffer than the DX used on the Aviar P&A. This putter is straight with good glide. Wind does not impact this disc too much. For throwing it does not handle a lot of snap but is decent for short approaches. I think this is a cheap alternative to the McPros.

Do you have big hands but hate the bead? then the classic aviar is for you!

I Bag 3 aviars max weight. I love the firm flight plate, the fact that it has no bead and its straight flight. I use them for all of my putts, I use them to drive on short holes, I use them for 250' anhyzers where you release them on a hyzer angle and they flip to anhyzer and carry all the way right.

The flight numbers are correct if you throw with alot of spin on the disc. so for putts and jump puts, and approach shots with alot of spin this disc flies perfectly straight and drops flat on the ground. if you do a reachback for a bigger powered throw, expect it to flip hard. When putting full powe on it expect the flight numbers to be 2/3/-2/0

Love this disc for anhyzer putt shots when Im stuck behind a tree. The hard plastic is a tad slippery, wish it was a bit more tacky.

Dont really use it as a driver, it tends to be flippy/very nose sensitive. Great approach disc though and as I said earlier I like using it for whenever I need an Anhyzer angle.

The Aviar being a staple of the game of disc golf its hard to ignore its massive presence. The Classic Aviar versus the Aviar P&A looks extremely similar with some only minor variations in the shape of the rim and it's blend of DX is more rigid with excellent tack. It is beadless and has a relatively shallow rim making it very easy to fit in the hand.

The Classic Aviar flies dead straight. Inside and outside the circle there is almost no fade until the very end of its flight when spin runs out. For shovel/push putters the Classic Aviar will respond to small adjustments in angle and it makes the disc very easy to sneak around obstacles if you've practiced the lines before hand. For more spin focused putters the Classic Aviar handles a decent amount of power but ultimately lacks the finish.

The Classic Aviar does not handle wind well, being very neutral it does not have enough stability to hold a line during a strong wind but for days that are less breezy it should prove to be a decent flier.

The Classic Aviar is pretty beginner friendly, it's important to note that like most neutral discs it will fly exactly the line you put it on and for a beginner with bad/inconsitent form it may be a little frustrating but ultimately this is a great putter for a first timer to grab if they don't like the fade of the Aviar P&A.

In Summary, The Classic Aviar is definitely not over hyped in my opinion this is one of the better putters on the market. As a thrower it doesn't handle much power so a touch player may have luck with them but being in baseline plastic I'm not quite sure how long they will last as throwers. At an incredibly low cost the Classic Aviar makes it easy to cycle and great for practice as you can affordably buy a stack of putters to practice with. If your putting style leans towards it the Classic Aviar is a solid pickup and worthy of its 4/5, but ultimately falls short of the 5/5 do to the lack of plastic options and poor wind performance.

I've been playing for about 3 years. Picked this up when I was still a very new player a while ago. I liked the stamp and I needed something to replace my really beat/chewed up DX P&A Aviar. It's come out of my bag a few times and I always end up putting it back. When really broken in, this putter will hyzerflip to flat then slowly head anyhyzer when thrown hard. I used it to shape narrow shots in the fairway or off the tee. Lighter touch upshots just go straight with a little fade at the end. If I'm ever going somewhere that I can take only one disc to mess around with, it is always this. I primarily use it for upshots, but I've lost confidence in my judges so I will be back to using it as a putter until my putting recovers. I find this blend doesn't chunk as bad as your typical DX P&A Aviar.

The classic dx aviar was my first putter I had, and it is very cheap but still a very good disc for beginners. It is very stable and will fly really straight. I love the plastic because it is so hard so then it won't be flimsy in my hand when I'm throwing. Although, it is not a very good driving putter so don't try to use this disc throwing off the tee pad's, it will wobble and you'll over power it because it is such a low speed.

The dx classic aviar was my first putter, and after trying out a couple others including the classic blend DD judge and the r-pro innova polecat, I keep coming back to the aviar. Best putter; super straight and glides the perfect amount. Even works well off the tee for those short holes.

I initially purchased the Classic Aviar to be my putter. I have since found other "putting" putters, but the Classic Aviar still has a firm place in my bag. I now use the Classic Aviar for up-shots and drives. This is by far the straitest flying, and finishing, disc I have ever thrown. This disc gets the most use running strait at baskets. It has virtually no fade at the end. I have compared the Classic to other discs with similar/same flight ratings (Innova Nova 2 - 3 - 0 - 0 and Latitude 64 Pure 3 - 3 - 0 - 0) and nothing finishes as strait as the Classic Aviar. This would be a fantastic disc to use to introduce someone to the game of disc golf, as it flies similar to a traditional frisbee. It can also be a fun warm-up disc to toss with a friend before starting a round of golf.

For me, this disc definitely has a range. Over about 260 feet I start to overpower the disc and it begins to turn over and ride an anhyzer line on its own. This can be just as good as a strait flight if you plan for it, because it still has consistency. You can hyzer-flip it farther distances, but when this disc really works well for me is when it is 80-260 feet. I can aim strait at my target, put the disc slightly nose-up, and watch it glide right towards my mark.

This is also a really fun shapeable disc; capable of holding a great anhyzer line, and a little bit of a hyzer line on softer throws. For shorter, open baskets, this is a go-to disc. If you are looking for a strait disc, try the Classic Aviar, not to be confused with the Aviar Putt & Approach which has a fade. I only wish it was available in a slightly more durable plastic.

I tested it today and it seems I need two more of them. But I probably would not use it for tunnel shots or straight drives as a mid-range disc. Well, I have to figure it out for couple of more weeks though. I am getting anhyzer flight path of this disc although I have max weight disc. May be I am putting more power on it. Hopefully I will get the mechanics behind this disc use it for straight shots and of course putting.
