This disc is so fun to mess around with! I bought a used I-blend Slab and have loved it so far. As soon as you pick this disc up it feels beefy, and the first throw agrees with that feeling. I liked having it in the I-blend because it carries straighter a little longer before having an aggressive dump. This is my new ultra wind fighter and get out of trouble disc.

Here is an honest review from a high-torque sidearm player, for both the i-blend and concrete Koling edition.

    1. This disc is not beginner friendly, and very similar to the Innova Max. The concrete Koling plastic throws like a beefier max. The I-blend feels the same but flies closer to the old PFN Xcalibers, and holds longer before dumping compared to the concrete plastic.

    2. For max torque forehand, this thing will always do the same thing almost invisible to wind. It will fight out of its flight as fast as it's thrown, and reliably fade out, with a ton of ground play. Adjusting the angle from hyzer to anny only seems to increase the distance that it travels before fading out hard.

    3. This thing will become reliable, but takes a strong shoulder to maintain the same throw throughout a round or two. As much as this disc is reliable, I personally have to back off using it so much because my arm is getting older...

In the end, I would highly recommend this disc to players who loved the Max, or even the Sabot, both similar molds. For a beginner, I would stray away from this unless you have a monster shoulder, unless you need a get out of trees disc in a beautiful plastic (I would recommend the Jeremy Koling Concrete slab)

I decided to try out the I-blend Slab.  Mine was blue and max weight with the Infinite text stamp.  It is not beefy but I was not expecting it to be.  If I wanted beef I would have chosen a different plastic or a higher speed OS driver.  So I don't like it for max distance FH throws.  I don't have a great FH release and turned this I-blend over too often on flat releases... and it stayed turned over all the way to the ground too.  So why 5 stars?  Because it does what I bought it to do... be versatile and feel right in every way in my hand.  It works well for short to fairway distance FH approaches and also works great as a BH distance driver.  Backhand, mine flies somewhere between an OS Trespass in a stiff "X" plastic and maybe a beat up Enforcer... but much less glidey than the Trespass and much thinner/flatter than both.  I think if I had about 5 of these in rotation they could cover all of my BH distance driver slots (I am BH mostly).  So, there are other discs out there that might fly same-enough but they are not this thin/flat with the excellent grip and just-right flex of this stiff I-blend.

Really like this disc for forehand distance. Definitely a bit understable in the I blend plastic. My forehands often veer left with and end right, but go pretty straight.

This disc is going to be my new forehand distance driver because, it is flat, comfortable and has the right stablity for my arm strength.

The I-Blend Slab is a marvel to the Infinite Discs line. The Slab is a super overstable mold but in I-blend, it flies a bit differently. It stays super straight for most of the flight before crashing hard and fast. What a great disc for such a great price!

Disc: Infinite Discs Slab - I-Blend Run 5 - Blue

Feel: The Slab feels like a beefed up, wider rim Scepter/Firebird with a flat top. The I-Blend plastic provides good grip and flexibility. Definitely a wider rim that is approaching the same depth as a Wraith or Emperor. The Slab has a pretty comfortable rim width for backhand and forehand grips.

Flight: The I-Blend Slab out of the box flew a bit less over stable than both the Metal Flake C-Blend (168g) and Color Glow C-Blend (175g). But those are in a league of their own making the I-Blend a bit more useful for everyday calm conditions and everything but the most windy of days on the course. The lower glide rating is very apparent but the I-Blend does show a bit of turn and will cover more distance straight than the other more durable/premium blends. The I-Blend will turn when thrown into moderate winds. Easily takes full power shots FH and BH.

Impressions & Comparisons: The flight numbers are slightly off for the I-Blend as stamped (11/3/0/4) and I'd adjust to 11/3.5/-0.5/3. If you are looking for a OS 11 speed driver to complement your straight Wraiths the I-Blend Slab would be a good option. Comparing the overstability to the 12 speed XCalibur and PD2, the Slab has less glide and will seek the ground a bit quicker but shows less fade in the I-Blend.

The I-Blend Slab is a good controllable disc, with a great soft feel in the hand for headwind shots or a shot that you need to place. When I throw mine as soon as it hits the ground it just stops with no movement or a tiny hop but no big rolls! If you are looking at getting into Infinite Discs I would definitely recommend the Slab!

This is a different take on a slab for sure. The I-blend is an understable plastic, and combined with a super overstable driver, it becomes a really manageable disc. It actually can fly like a driver. I say somewhat beginner friendly, because this is a disc that beginners should get if they start to feel they need a utility disc. The I-blend makes it a little more manageable. It turns over for me and flexes back. Flies nothing like a slab. Just a lot like a wraith that has almost no glide.
