The Mortar is the same mold as a beadless gator, and it's extremely comfortable in the hand for both forehand and backhand shots. It's quite overstable, being able to fight any type of windy condition, and making it very reliable out of the hand. The Color Ghost Recon plastic is very nice and durable with a strong grip even when wet. The mortar itself, while being overstable and strong for placement shots, does have more glide than it's previous form of the gator. You can put a good movement on this disc down the fairway and it won't just fall out of the sky like a brick. While it takes a bit of power and skill to use the mortar, it's a great disc and I would recommend it to anyone. 

Love this for FH Upshots. I got the Recon and color ghost glow. Rexon is flat with nice pearl to the plastic. It is stiff yet grippy. The color ghost has more flex (have not thrown it yet). The recon is a gator with more glide. FH flex shots and BH spike hyzer approaches. It's staying in the bag.
