The Gateway Shaman is a putt and approach disc with a very thin profile. This thin putter is like a beadless Chief, or a slimmer Magic. If you like thin putters, but don't like beads, you'll like the Shaman.

Diamond Shaman - Approach and Drive

    170-175g Diamond RHBH LHBH

Killer Midrange disc,  listed as putter but in diamond plastic can replace many discs in my bag.  Can pitch putt but is fast.  For me there are few mid range discs as good as this one.

When turned over will glide long.  When forced into a hyzer, holds a line better than most mid range,  When thrown FLAT  you may get some approaches that bang chains.

Diamond plastic Shaman takes a lot of abuse and continues to deliver.

This is the type of disc that you carry around the house, even to the bathroom, because you can't put it down. It feels that good in the hand, especially fan grips and forehands. Little too shallow for a backhand power grip. Doesn't like a ton of power, it can turn and burn, but that's operator error. Learn this disc and you can put it on any line you want and it will hold it. Did I mention it feels amazing? Looks amazing too, especially in yellow :-)

Love this disc. Very straight if thrown flat. Was not a fan of ever using putters off the tee (on short holes) and would always lean mid-range. Now this is my "go to" off the tee on shorter holes. Has replaced my Pure as my main putter. Both are in bag, but Shaman gets more use.

The thin profile is comfortable. My putting confidence has increased. I do have to be more cautious due to the glide. Have passed a few baskets when thrown with too much spin.

Am not smart enough or skilled enough to confirm or comment on ratings. It is very straight and glides well.

    Simple Smooth Straight

RHBH Diamond Plastic 170g very durable.

GREAT FOR APPROACH AND LIGHT DRIVES. maybe Quick for a putter.  honestly this disc could replace many of my approach discs. release with hyzer for reliable fades to the basket.

This was a great purchase! Met or exceeded all of my expectations and has solidified itself as my off-the-tee putter. Highly recommend for anyone who is wanting a lower profile putter!

The Shaman is the best approach disc ever... Dead straight when thrown flat or holds the line hyzer or anhyzer. I use this disc off the tee for 200-250 basket shots. I think of it as a shorter mid range disc. It's perfect for approach shots too. This is one of the flattest discs you can get. Feels great in the hand. Great for backhand and very good for shorter shaping forehand shots. The diamond plastic is the way to go or the SSS glow...  It reminds of the mako, but shallower and easier throw. A little more forgiving than the mako.

This mold is about as close as you can get to a point and shoot approach disc. Crank on it just a little and let the disc do the rest of the work for you.

This disc was a game changer for me. It added the shot I'd been missing. Nice and shallow but has the turnover ability I couldn't get from any other shallow putter. Perfect for little flip up shots in the woods. Good feel for forehands as well. This will probably stay in my bag forever.

Loving the Chief OS as a driving putter, I wanted to try out the Shaman. Nice shallow rim, so you can get a clean, comfortable release. I throw this hard on a hyzer angle, and it flips up and turns a bit to the right, with a small amount of fade at the end. My go to for straight drives out to 200-225'. I have yet to have this flip all the way over on me when thrown on even a light hyzer.

I don't really putt with this, nor do I use it for close upshots.

The HD plastic is a bit grippier than evolution diamond, but i have been very happy with both.

Excellent disc, and an excellent choice for those shorter holes.

The shaman is a putter but its used mostly for approach. This disc is overatted because it is supposed to be used as a putter but a good comparison to this would be maybe the discraft zone and the discmania tactic. The plastic has a more firm feel than the jawbreaker zone but has more grip than lets say a dx pig or dx aviar. The rim has a more narrow edge than the discraft zone that I have but flies much straighter. The shaman can be very well used for forehand and backhand throws were the slight fade can help bring you inside the circle for an easy birdie on a shorter hole. I consider myself an amateur or an intermediate player and I can easily throw this 200ft with a straight line or a hyzer. Absolutely underrated disc I recommend this to just about anybody going for an approach disc.

I actually had this disc in Suregrip which I see isn't currently available. However maybe it will be soon here. The disc is very shallow for a putter with a boxy feel. I found the feel to be OK. The plastic warped fairly easily but I see they have Diamond as well of course which would be better.

Fight wise it's understable with a straight finish. I kind of wished it has more glide.

I snagged a Shaman recently because I was looking for shallow, flat topped, beadless, approach disc.

It is in fact extra shallow so those with larger hands may not like the feel but I really like the depth especially for an approach flick shot.

The flight itself is stable to understable. You can keep it on a hyzer line if you're not throwing it too hard but throwing it flat or flicking it and you'll likely see it pop up or turn over.

The Evo Plastic is really nice and if you're a fan of Gateway discs and looking to give something a shot, try it out.

Basically the least profiled disc in existence. No dome, no Shallow Rim, just straight 90 degree angles with a slightly blunted nose haha!

I love the Shaman...very comfortable, very glidey. It's amazing for long turnovers where I feel that other putters are easy to burn. This one works it's angle and then holds it very well. It's also a very easy disc to hyzer flip flat for some surprising distance. It's just a little faster than your average putter.

I have bagged Chiefs too and this truly is just a slightly more understable chief which might just feel better in the hand without the bead.

Try one if it looks interesting to you...seriously overlooked disc!
