The Gateway Samurai is a high-speed distance driver with moderate turn and moderate low-speed end-of-flight fade. The Samurai is one of Gateway’s farthest flying PDGA approved discs. For newer disc golfers, the Samurai reacts like an overstable disc. For experienced players, it makes a good turnover driver. This disc is also recommended for sidearm throws, rollers, and tomahawk throws.

Gateway honestly has some very weird drivers. gateway mids and putters are outstanding, but the Samurai is the perfect example of "awesome name, so-so disc." I've thrown two Samurais at vastly different times, but both flew pretty much the same. One had a big dome, the other was more mild.

I found the Samurai had a LOT of turn, but also a lot of fade. I found it very unique in that aspect. it would pretty easily hyzer flip to flat, but then the fade on the back end was tremendous. The Samurai is fun for power rollers, with a crazy curl at the end. Not a terrible disc, but I don't know what anyone would use it for.

I just picked up an Evolution Samurai a few months ago and I have loved it so far. I feel like it is definitely an underappreciated disc. mine is a pop top, and it glides super well, and it isn't to hard for me to get to flip up. It is a great disc I think for players who want to get the distance but don't quite have the arm for more overstable drivers like Giants and D1s or even Kings and even Destroyers. Again, an underappreciated disc that will make you happy and should lower your scores

This disc is amazing. Great "s" curve when thrown hard. At about 80% this disc is just super straight with a dependable fade at the end. And just as everyone says, this thing has a great amount of glide. I would recommend this to anyone.

Got one of these, it throws a lot like the star destroyer i have only it has a lot more glide. I think its a little less stable then the destroyer and has more of a dome top. great driver and really dependable!
