The Assassin is a controllable distance driver that offers a fairly neutral flight path combined with excellent glide, making it perfect for straight fairway drives or powering up for a long turnover drive. Its smooth, moderate dome and semi-wide wing make it comfortable in the hand. If you like the Sabre but want something easier to really wing out there, the Assassin is your disc. You will find it to be surprisingly stable even in lighter weights.

After trying quite a few other discs I don't really come back to the Assassins often. I have both the sure grip and the hemp blend. I would say I like the grip of the hemp better but it does take more of a beating. I originally went with Gateway because I like the branding of their discs and I appreciated the hemp and recycled materials. After using the disc for awhile I would say it's great disc to learn with because the grip makes it easy to throw. However if you are learning on a course with a lot of trees, expect to take some damage.

In lighter weights this disc tends to turn on it's side on roll but can work out well for someone unable to get much distance otherwise. I often use this disc for medium range backhand shots and even some tomahawks. It's not my go to for side arm because I can't seem to get the accuracy I can with other discs. However in a lighter weight a low power sidearm can produce nice results. Just not usually what I reach for after picking up some experience.

A great backhand/forehand driver. Flies fairly true to flight numbers so this is great in the woods or in the right winds. This disc has gotten me plenty of birdies. My only complaint is that the hemp blend beats in a lot faster than I expected but now the disc slots into a great hyzer-flip driver for me. I love that Gateway is producing more sustainable discs and would definitely recommend supporting that endeavor.
