The Sheriff is a versatile, high-speed disc that is designed to be a tool for many kinds  of shots and many kinds of players. It can be used for long anhyzers, flex shots, straight distance shots, and pure hyzers. The Sheriff can be your go-to disc when both distance and shot-shaping become critical.

I have experience with a few Sheriff's, and my experience definitely differs based on plastic. In fusion, this is a disc that has low high speed stability, but also relatively high low speed stability. So when releasing on a signifigant hyzer angle, it flips substantially....but while losing speed it fights out of the angle quicker than expected. I bought this disc for max distance lines and potential rollers, and while it works well for max distance rollers it does not work great for max distance air shots. The late stability keeps the disc upright for rollers late, but also keeps the disc from staying in the air on big flex lines. In lucid-x (or metallic/similar plastic} i've seen drastically different flights. I have a paige shue(i think?) lucid-x sheriff that I could not turn over into a tornado, and leads me to dislike the mold even more. The super wide variability of flights from the same mold results in lost confidence when throwing, at least for me. I'm sure some people vibe with this disc, but I believe there are better options out there for any skill range.

I use a 4 year old beat in Lucid 172g that is my primary driver. With minimal effort it goes 300ft straight (wide path) sidearm or I can launch it 400+ with a big run up. I've added a used Lucid-X Metal Flake 174g that with a little anhyzer I can get that a little further with a nice fade at the end. I have a Lucid-X Chameleon and Lucid-X Chameleon Moonshine that are much more overstable out of the box, similar to Destroyer for me. Great thumber/ grenade.

I currently bag three Sheriffs: Moonshine, Lucid, and the new 2020 Paige Shue Lucid X.

Overall I must say that I love these discs. The rim is very shallow, offering a comfortable grip, offers versatile shots, and is a very workable disc for all levels. The Sheriff is my max distance potential disc, but requires a lot of airspace for my power.

Lucid: This plastic serves as the least stable of my three. It is flippy and very effective in the woods for hyzer flip shots. Learning forehands I have learned to lean on this disc as it will stand up with little power and glide before finishing. Due to its lower stability, the Lucid Sheriff is my go-to max distance disc for any tailwind, otherwise this may be the easiest disc, for me, to get to that 400 ft mark.

Moonshine: The Moonshine Sheriff is noticeably more stiff, more flat, and, as a result, flies more stable. I throw the Moonshine Sheriff in the woods for straight shots and lower powered anhyzers. This Sheriff will still fly understable, but requires a lot less hyzer to get the desired flight.

2020 Paige Shue Lucid X Sheriff: This disc is very stiff, very flat (but not a flat top), and flies almost overstable. This disc flies more comparable to a Lucid Trespass than a Lucid Sheriff. I can throw this disc flat, it will demonstrate high speed turn, but it always fades back. It's a great disc for a more-controllable 430ft range.

I have thrown the Sheriff as my straight forehand disc for a couple years.  As my throw improved I switched to the Lucid-X Sheriff for Forehand since the lucid started to turn more than I want.

In general, it will fly laser straight and depending on conditions (wind, elevation, etc.) and get a little or a lot of fade at the end.

I have a few Lucid Sheriffs and use them as a tweener between the Knight and Ballista Pro.  I throw an Air Sheriff for my max distance straight to turn disc.  The Lucid-X Sheriff flies a little less stable than the Ballista Pro both forehand and backhand for me.  The X will get a little turn either way and then fade back to straight or more.
