The disc's flight numbers are nowhere near what they should be for this disc. The rim is exactly like a destroyer in diameter, and the disc is nowhere near as overstable as a disc with 3 fade should be. Regardless, it is a great disc for those who want to throw max distance s-curves and rollers. For a beginner, it's an amazing disc because it will be the farthest disc that you throw, hands down.

This is probably the best distance driver in Dynamic Discs lineup for most players with a decent arm.  I have two Raiders, one in Lucid plastic and one in BioFuzion.  In the Lucid plastic the disc has a really nice flight, when thrown hard on hyzer it flies a nice s-curve pattern, and finishes with a mild fade.  It has some turn out of the box, I actually flipped it over a few times when throwing in the field.  This disc is one of those "beat in Destroyer" type disc, though I did find the glide to be just a little lacking.  I think it's more of a 12 speed than 13, and a fairly straight flier.  Oddly enough my BioFuzion Raider is very overstable.  I had heard the BioFuzion is usually the more understable plastic, but my Bio Raider is a beefcake that fights out of any anhyzer angle.  Both plastics (Lucid and BioFuzion) feel good in the hand and are firm with good grip.

Good not great. Primarily flick player throw 400 feet. This was just not quite stable enough for the over stable shoot. I like the force more.

Handles a forehand release well. When put on anhyzer will flip to flat riding straight before fading out toward the basket. Probably too overstable to be very beginner friendly

The Raider was my first driver (big mistake, although not because it is a bad disc) and it provided a good lesson. That is, work with your arm speed. The lucid plastic on this disc is amazing, and when you use the Raider correctly, it is a must-have bagger. Great for headwinds, long/wide open shots that you need to fade into, or for skipping over an obstacle. The reason I say it is not good for beginners is because of how fast you have to throw it. I could necer get this to go past 250-265 feet when I started out, when I could get 8 and 9 speeds to match or surpass that number. If I want to get it farther, I would have to throw my arm out and lose all hope of accuracy. Now that I have been playing longer, however, and practicing my form + increasing my arm speed, this disc is a workhorse. I can throw it wide to the right of the basket (I throw Right hand Back hand) and have it land close enough to get a park job, or skip it once to land within putting distance. This is a great disc that should be bought for intermediates and above, with the arm speed and space to throw to match it.

Lucid Raider - The raider is an overall great disc. It is dynamic discs overstable max distance driver. I have 3 raiders and 2 in the bag. Each one flies a little bit different. I have a white Lucid one that is the most overstable however I don't believe any are as overstable as the flight numbers suggest. My most overstable one when thrown flat with drift a little bit right then fade out at the end. Then my least stable one is my farthest flying disc in my bag. I can put it on a some hyzer and it will flip up and ride to the right then fade out at the end. It is worth noting the least stable one is 168g. The other ones are max weight. They each also feel different which I believe could cause the differences in flight. I have a board flat one (least stable) and pretty domey one (middle stability). Overall just a great disc and now is one of my most thrown distance drivers.

I love the lucid Raider for both backhands and forehands. In my opinion it is not as overstable as the flight numbers imply, but it is still plenty bite to fight out of an anhyzer release leading to huge flex shots. I think it flies like a beat in destroyer out of the box. It has a pretty wide rim, so it might be uncomfortable in some hands, and is certainly not beginner friendly due to the speed of the disc.

This is a very good driver which I have in my bag. Have to compare it to my destroyer. It is quite good and I feel that I get good turn out of it. I don't recommend this disc to beginners as it may be to fast for you. This disc is a staple in my bag and I like it a lot.

My Lucid Raider has never been a really stable disc. I bought it to use as a flick disc, but discovered quickly that turned over too much on the flick. That's when I tried throwing it backhand. After one or two throws it became my go-to backhander. Somehow it flies 50-75 feet longer than any other disc in my bag, including my Destroyers and my DD3, regardless of the angle I put it on. The thing just glides for days. I have parked holes with it that I could never reach previously. I have a Fuzion Raider as well that I haven't thrown as much, but has similar glide while being a little more stable. I don't think my disc is a fluke. The Raider definitely has a permanent spot in my bag.

This is my rip it and watch it fly disc. I can control the disc pretty well but not as well as an enforcer. The Raider is my #1 favorite disc in my bag as I bag 4 of them. Reliable fade and consistent flight. Should be a staple in more players bags.

Flies very true to the numbers, at my arm speed this disc flies mostly straight with a consistent fade at the end of the flight.  Easy to trust for backhand and forehand drives.

I have this disc in both lucid and fuzion plastic. With Dynamic Discs I find that you really have to let the disc get broken in before it gets to the true nature of the disc. Out of the box this thing was super overstable. I could really only use it for utility shots. After beating this disc in I can throw some bombs with this thing. The Raider isn't a max distance disc for me, but with it's reliable fade, consistency in the wind and ability to handle a strong forehand this disc gets used quite a bit.

While a lot of people say this is similar to a destroyer I just can't see it. Yes it is an over stable distance driver with similar numbers to a destroyer but it feels a little different in the hand with a slightly thick rim than a destroyer. I am in no way saying it is bad because it is not just like the destroyer. I have both this and a destroyer and I use them for different shots. Some may like it more than a destroyer and some may like it less. Do not let that dissuade you from buying this disc it is excellent.

I have had a raider in the bag since they came out. I now bag 6 raider, all in different levels of beat in from beefy brand new to hyzer flip into a turnover shot. The raider fills all of my backhand distance slots except for my enforcer. I can get my perfectly beat in raider out to 450 consistently and have touch 500 a few times. The raider was made to be a workhorse disc and that's exactly what it is. Not my preference for Forehand due to the dome but an absolute bomber for my backhand.

Yes, it's a Destroyer! But in a good way! You get the vibe sometimes when you read a review of a max distance driver that this is somehow a negative, but in my opinion it's nice to be able to have even more types of plastic to choose from in order to get that desired flight. I've thrown the Lucid Metallic at 173, and I threw it like I'd throw a Destroyer, and it gives me exactly what I expect, super fast, rides out to the right, then comes back reliably at the end. Great fade as well, doesn't have a sharp dump, nice and gradual but strong. And even though it's advertised as speed 13, I don't think it feels all too different from any other speed 12.  Overall, a fantastic option if you love trilogy plastic and you want that familiar max distance flight, great mold from DD.

    175g Lucid Chameleon

I couldn't resist ordering a 2020 Canadian Nationals raider; the chameleon plastic looks beautiful. The disc flew wonderfully at first; the flight numbers were right on. Great OS flight, and fought the wind well despite the dome (which gives it great glide). In a medium headwind it would stand up from a mild hyzer, and turn a touch to the right before fading out at around 400'. I even set a new PB on a bomber course with just the raider and a putter.

    BUT

A month later, the raider has already changed in its flight. I threw it off the tee on a 375' hole with OB right with a medium headwind, and it flew beautifully for the first 275'. Then, just when I thought it would fade left towards the basket, it turned right instead and ended up 60' right, over the fence and in a swamp (pin high, but still). It's done the same thing several more times since: headwind = crash and burn. Not what should be happening for a 13/5/-0.5/3 disc. It's closer to a stable crank now than a destroyer. Even the Ricky star destroyers hold up better in a headwind. I can still bomb this raider in calm or tail winds, but it's not the reliable disc I was loving a few weeks ago. Not going to stay in the bag. I had heard Trilogy plastics beat in quicker than other brands, but didn't put too much stock in it until now as I don't throw much trilogy. I've never had a premium plastic disc beat in so fast.

I absolutely love this disc!!! This is my go to driver when I need maximum distance. This disc feels very comfortable in the hand and you can really give it some power and you will get a flight pattern where the raider will just barely bend on a anhyzer line and then run dead straight for 300+ ft with a reliable fade at the end usually putting the disc dead center of the fairway. I see alot of people comparing it to the Destroyer but in my opinion I disagree. Every Destroyer I have thrown is usually pretty overstable where I feel the Raider is a bit more understable.

Disc - 174 Dynamic Discs Lucid Raider

Feel - The Raider feels very similar to a destroyer from innova. The rims are about the same width but the raider may be a touch deeper. The raider feels good for both backhand and forehand shots. Lucid plastic is very durable and provides good grip compared to other "candy" plastics.

Flight - The Raider flies very similarly to a destroyer. The domey ones are definitely more overstable and the flatter ones or less stable. They are great for max distance shots but they also provide a lot of control because of the tight lines that they fly. I really do think that the destroyer and raider are almost interchangeable but I prefer lucid plastic.

Overall - I really like the raider for max distance shots as it has a lot of glide. I would recommend the raider to people who think that the destroyer is a bit too inconsistent. The raider will obviously be inconsistent as well but hopefully not as much as the destroyer.

I bought a Lucid Raider a few weeks ago and this thing is a lot more beefy than I was expecting. I can get destroyers and dd3s to turn when thrown flat, but this thing will not turn at all. Extremely predictable disc though. Thrown flat and hard it goes straight for 3/4 of the flight and then dumps left pretty quickly. I'm not sure if it's just the disc being in Lucid plastic, but it flies a lot like an Enforcer. This thing absolutely rips forehand. I don't have to put a ton of power behind it to get it to flip up and get there quick. Side note, this is one of the prettiest discs I've ever owned. It almost looks like a swirly Lucid. It's a white disc that is semi-transparent with white swirls and a mint green stamp.

The Raider is $$$ for my arm speed.

I can push it out near 400 ft. with little high speed turn.

It is reliable in a headwind and is just a joy to throw.

Many long range discs are either mega beef or super flippy. The Raider accomplishes that rare feat of being a bomber, but consistent.

I would recommend the Raider to anyone who has been burned by Destroyers that don't fly as advertised. My Raider flies just like the numbers stamped on the front.

This review will include thoughts on both Lucid and Fuzion Raiders. I am primarily LHBH, avg distance driver distance: 410ft.

Overall the Raider feels great in-hand; it's domey, but not too domey, comfortable grip, and has the familiar feel of discs such as Innova's Destroyer.

The Lucid Raider is stiff, but does have some give. The Lucid Raider flies more over-stable than a Wysocki Destroyer, but not as stable as a 4x. Thrown flat it will resist high-speed turn (maybe flex a little), continue to push, and then have a very reliable fade at the end. For me the flight is pretty tight, and fairly straight before the fade. Into a headwind the Lucid Raider can handle itself as in it won't turn too much, but it also won't have the tendency to fade much.

The Fuzion Raider is more flexible than the Lucid and has a more comfortable feel. The Fuzion Raider flies closer to a Wysocki Destroyer, but still more over-stable, and when compared to the Lucid Raider it makes a great hyzer flip distance driver. Thrown flat, it will demonstrate some high-speed turn, the disc says -0.5, but the fuzion flies closer to a -1.0 Turn. The 3 fade does allow it to come back and finish reliably. Versus the Lucid plastic, the Fuzion throws a little further on average for me, but both can really bomb.

I would also like to note that, when compared to the Destroyer, the Raider is consistent as in you will not have to buy a handfull to find the flight you want. The Raider is a great disc to reduce the amount of distance driver molds in your bag.

I've only thrown the "Special Edition" (which feels like Fuzion plastic) Raider that was released a few weeks ago... but WOW. Seems to have a perfect amount of glide and not too much overstability out of the hand. They'll hold a bit of turn before fading, or if your arm speed is faster (for me it's the forehand throw) they'll pop up and provide a little turn for you. I think this disc will fit nicely into anyone's bag that is looking for something slightly faster and not quite as overstable as the Enforcer, but hasn't liked the feel of the Defender. I think the best comp is that they're pretty close to the Balista Pro, but not quite as fast. Great disc, will probably go right into the bag for the powered up forehand shots that I need some glide on out to about 400' or so.

Edit: I've now thrown the stock run lucid and these things BOMB. I'm getting new levels of distance on my forehand lines (400+ easily) and I trust these to go far on backhand, too. This disc should probably be in every serious player's bag.

I think that this disc is an amazing disc out of the box but I've owned 3 now and all of them are now pretty understable. I can even use one as a nice easy roller disc or a tail wind BOMBER. idk if the mold beats in fast or just the plastic but once it starts getting flippy it loses its spot in the bag....

Almost worth a 5 if not for that.

Otherwise, the feel in the hands both backhand and sidearm is mind blowing!

This thing bombs! Easily added 30 - 50 feet on my drives with it. I normally throw a Trespass (well 3 of them in various states of stability) about 330 feet. I threw this in the bag recently and holy cow... same form issues, same timing issues but more distance. Love it. For stronger arms, this could turn over easily. Not recommended for a strong headwind...
