The Freedom was my first go-to driver for forehands, which is my dominant throwing style. It was my workhorse at one time, but as it got more beat-in, it just became more and more understable. Eventually, it just became too understable so I stopped using it for a while. Last week, I revisited my Freedom when a friend and I went out to practice our form, but mostly just to throw some long drives. My backhand has come a long way since the time I used my Freedom, and I wanted to see if I had the backhand arm speed to get it to at least flip up given how flippy I remembered it with my forehand. Not to my surprise, I still didn't have the strength to flip it up backhand, so I gave it a try forehand. Wow. I released it on a pretty steep hyzer, and it flipped all the way up and almost into a roller. I don't think it had as much to do with my mysterious forehand strength as it did with the understability of the Freedom. As for the feel of the disc in the hand, the rim is much to wide for comfortability on a backhand, but pretty good for a forehand. The Freedom is quite possibly the flattest disc I have ever seen. I prefer flatter discs, but this is bordering too flat.
