The Blackout is a control diver that sheds the heavy weight of oppressive governmental regimes in favor of the survivalist instincts of an apocalyptic future. It is also a straight-to-understable disc golf driver that can be manipulated onto any flight path to accurately place shots along the fairway. It is a favorite for controlled, hyzer-flip drives through narrow fairways that are lined by trees, or narrow streets that are lined by abandoned buildings on dystopian disc golf courses. Whether a seasoned disc golfer or a beginner, the Blackout will become a favorite in your bugout disc bag.

    Biohazard Details

Biohard plastic from Doomsday Discs is a mostly translucent premium blend with a lot of flexibility and good grip. It's a gummier option than most premium discs on the market, and it comes with the same dirty, splotchy look as Toxic Waste, having been through the cataclysmic production process of the apocalpyse.

My favorite out of the plastic options. Gummy and pretty flexible. Doesn't like to run too much once it hits the ground. I use it for dart straight shots or shots with a bit of turn (I tend to release with a bit of hyzer automatically). Folks with bigger arms will have fun using it for big turnovers. Since Biohazard plastic tends to run more stable, I find that I can use it a bit more in the wind. The discs tend to be very consistent across runs too.

It's a great disc for all levels and everyone can find a slot for it in their bag. Snag it in a couple other plastics to fill more slots (Toxic Waste for flippier).

I love this flexy plastic and the straightness of this disc. One of my "go to" discs in my bag.

This disc (in biohazard plastic) runs pretty true to the numbers. Feels great in the hand, no flashing or odd edges. Covers distance easily, and will have some right and left movement on a full flat throw, but also hyzer flips for straight shots. Biohazard plastic is very soft and grippy, surprisingly flexible, and has more stability than other doomsday plastics. If you like a stiff plastic, this plastic is not for you.

The 8-speed discs I had on hand to compare directly with the Blackout actually had -2 Turn & 2 Fade, and by comparison, the Blackout's flight did seem to reflect the slightly lower fade of its rating, typically (depending a bit on the head-/tailwind) ending up either a bit straighter ahead than the others (as they faded a bit farther left), or a bit farther right. So pretty comparable. I got good flight patterns and distance with it, so definitely a winner. Champion-grade plastics are normally my preferred grades, so this similar Biohazard plastic feels good to me and releases cleanly like I'm used to with other discs. As with other Doomsday models, the tell-tale flecked patterning of their plastic and the themed stamp look pretty cool, too. I think the mild stability of the disc will make it a reasonable choice for beginners; or if it proves a bit much for them, should still give them something to practice with and work up to that isn't too much of a stretch to achieve.

This is one of the first discs I ever got. It's a slightly understable 8 speed that is great for picking up distance, especially early on. Now that I've been playing longer and I've tried a lot more discs, it is my favorite fairway, especially in Biohazard plastic. It's consistent, the turn is just right for somewhat tight fairways, it just works. A light forward fade, great hand feel, it beats in nice, I could just do on forever about this disc.
