Solid disc. I'm primarily a flick player with a weaker backhand. I could get a huge turning s curve out of this thing. Ultimately replaced by the Maya as that has less turn but still weak arm friendly

I was hesitant to use this disc as it has been notorious for being more flippy. But it has more torque resistance than you would think. I am able to get another 25+ feet out of it compared to a hades which is similar numbers. Definitely try it out, great distance!

This disc got me over 400' and then up to 445'. I have parked 375' holes with this disc. Feels like free distance, Turns very easily but always fights back at the end. Love it!

I purchased this disc alongside a Champion Mamba, and while both have a similar flight pattern, the Thrasher seems to come back earlier and harder than the Mamba.  If I'm throwing into a slight headwind, this disc throws in a nice S-curve.  In a heavier headwind, I "roll it over," and it doesn't fade back, but I can't quite perform a roller with it.  That's not a good spot to be, but somebody with a more powerful throw could really get some distance and versatility out of this disc.  I'm an intermediate player, with an intermediate throw.

So far, I'm unable to get it to perform with a hyzer flip, but I'm still getting that throw dialed in, so that could be operator error.  This seems like a disc that I could grow into, but it's in a Goldilocks zone for me where it doesn't perform so well for me right now.  If it was more understable, it would be great for rollers and hyzer flips.  More stable, and it would work well for straight distance shots.  If I throw it flat, it drifts a bit to the right (RHBH throw), and kind of peters out before I would expect it to.

This and my hades are fairly similar in the flight path and feel in hand. For whatever reason i feel like this can take more torque compared the the hades. The thrasher seems to have a little more fade at the end at least the one i have. I still have to throw it pretty hard to get a good bit of turn out of it but still flies great!

The Thrasher is a super-fun distance driver, and a relatively easy first high-speed distance driver for most golfers. If you learned to hyzer flip and want to get better, this is a great disc for that. If you never learned to throw flex shots, this is a good disc for that, too. It sometimes struggles in the wind, but if you're throwing over 300 feet and want to start testing your arm speed, this is a very forgiving driver to start throwing. That being said, it is not a replacement for arm speed. DO NOT try to throw this if you can't max out over 325, just grab a heat or a sidewinder. But once you are comfortable throwing those discs, this is a natural upgrade if you don't want to try throwing wraiths or destroyers yet.

I've found the Thrasher to be an excellent high-speed understable driver.  The real power of this disc lies in its potential for long booming flex shots, flat-to-turn rips, and hyzer-flips.  You want to take advantage of the -3 turn and go for some shot-shaping distance throws.  I like the combination of the -3 turn and 2 fade, it feels easy to get the disc to start to turn over and flex, but it usually fights pretty hard at the end of its flight and has strong fade.

I have not found this disc to be very "flippy" and it rarely turns all the way over on me.  Usually when that has happened it's because I've tried to throw it too hard and end up yanking my body way off line.  I usually throw this disc on long holes that are wide open or the right side of the fair way is clear, and release the disc on a slight anhyzer angle (RHBH throw) thrown pretty hard.  This is a 12 speed disc so it really needs to be thrown up to speed, otherwise you won't see any turn in its flight and the disc will tend to stall out.

I feel like if you're just throwing this disc on hyzer lines or flat lines than you're likely wasting some of the disc's potential.  I also don't think it's a very good disc for beginners.  Beginners don't need to be throwing 12 speed discs and the Thrasher calls for more complex throws like hyzer-flips and long flex shots.  I think it's a great disc for intermediate players like myself who are learning to throw some longer distance lines.

This is the most understable disc that I currently have in my bag. Every bag needs a ridiculously understable disc whenever you need to execute certain types of shots. There are several understable distance drivers with these flight numbers, but what makes the thrasher different is how slow it turns over and then fades back. My Tern for example flips over real quick, and then holds the turnover line for a while before fading back. The Thrasher just gradually turns and keeps turning before fading back at the end on high shots (on low power shots, it turns into a roller). The slower turning of this disc makes it much easier to shape shots accurately. This is why I think it flys more like a 9 speed than a 12 speed.

I can execute late turnover forehand shots that get about 350 ft of distance. For example, if you need shot to go straight, then turn left, then finish turning back right, this disc is great for that if you have a mediocre forehand like myself.

I also use this disc for sky high power shots. There is a 300 ft hole on my local course that is shaped like an hour glass There are two groups of trees and bushes about 40 feet high in the middle blocking your direct pack to the baskets. If you go around the center trees at ground level then you have to navigate an s turn throw in either direction in a 10 foot wide window or you will hit the trees on the outside part of the hole. The Thrasher allows me to throw over the center trees so I can avoid the ground level technical shot the hole calls for. I launch it straight at the tallest tree in the center, the disc then turns a little to the right to miss the tall tree then hovers over the rest of the trees and falls near the basket.

I purchased this disc looking for a very flat distance driver for forehands. As a dominant backhand player, I have been looking for a great disc to get extra distance with my forehands. Flatter topped discs help me with my release as well as comfortable grip with my forehand and I was hoping this disc would be super flat. It's fairly flat, but not as much as I would have liked. It would be so nice if Infinite Discs would specify the flatness of a disc, or better yet, show a profile of the exact disc you are purchasing.

The results of my forehand drives with this disc have been mediocre. I was hoping for more turn. I don't feel like this disc gets the -3 turn I was hoping for and therefore I'm not getting the distance I was hoping for.

Would I recommend this disc? That depends I suppose. Even with the few backhands I've thrown with it, it has most definitely not been great for distance drives. I much prefer my Destiny or my Ballista Pro for that.

I started throwing a Thrasher this year and it has definitely given my bag a boost. I use the thrasher for wide-open max distance backhand shots (around 450ft), tight wooded tunnel shots, and long turn over shots because I am able to hyzer-flip it and take advantage of all the glide this disc has. It is also great to throw with a tailwind. I also like to use this disc for longer turnover shots that I don't think I have the distance for with a Roadrunner. The Thrasher definitely brings a lot of versatility with it, it allows for different shot shapes that can work well on a tight line in the woods or in a wide-open field. I currently carry 2 Thrashers in my bag a Z line and a Big Z and I find them both to fly the same with no noticeable difference between those two plastics.

I think the Thrasher is a really great disc for beginners, I wouldn't recommend it be the first driver a beginner gets mainly because of the higher speed rating. This would be a great first distance driver and is a great disc to learn both the forehand and backhand with because of the control and glide it offers. As you progress with this disc you should start to learn how to control the angles and release points to get shots like the hyzer-flip or long turnover shot.

    172g ESP Thrasher

I have had this disc for about a month now and I have been enjoying how it flies. Specifically, I like how far I can get this thing. It feels good in the hand, I like mine in the ESP plastic, but the mold just feels very fitting. So far, I haven't experienced the -3 turn that this disc is advertised as. It flies pretty stable for me and almost always ends left pretty hard. This could be because it's still new and I throw with a lot of hyzer with it usually. My friend has an older one and it flies very understable. That being said, I think it will be a great disc even as it wears in. I can throw normally about 320 ft backhand and I can get this disc up to about 370 ft max. It flies great and I highly recommend it to intermediate players trying to get some more distance, while improving form. Overall, a great distance driver!

Why no one recommended me this disc earlier in my time playing disc golf I have no clue. I picked this disc up after 3 years of playing disc golf and just couldn't seem too reliable get over 300 feet. Now has that ever changed. This disc solved that problem. Now before you go out and buy a Thrasher let me do you a favor and pro-con this for you.

Let's start out with the cons of the disc if you have a bigger arm this thing may flip over on you and become a roller. If you have bigger hands you may not be a fan of its small rim. These are the only real "cons" I could find with this disc.

Now the pros for those slow arm players this thing will get you that reliable distance you want and need. If you have a small hand or even just like small rims this will feel great in the hand. Did I also mention that this disc has a nice flat top that is just a personal preference, but just also a nice note.

With all this being said should you pick up a Discraft Thrasher?  The short and simple answer yes you should. The long answer if you want reliable easy distance, without having to strain yourself. A disc that can easily hyzer-flip and even when you develop a bigger arm turn into a good roller then pick this disc up.

As a new player, it has taken me a while to find a distance driver that I can throw consistently, and the Thrasher is it.  I jumped to a Crank way too early for my arm speed to pitiful results.  I scaled back to 9- and 10-speed drivers for a few months until my form and arm speed got better.  Then I took the Crank back out for a few rounds and found I was throwing it pretty well, but I wanted something a little less stable so I picked up a Z Thrasher.

Flash forward a couple weeks and I was throwing the Thrasher as long or longer than the Crank and hitting my lines much more consistently.  Coupled with a grip change (thank you Danny Lindahl!), I went from 275'-290' on my best drives to hitting 315'-330' consistently and getting 350'+ on my best drives.  For a beginning player that extra distance was huge for shaving strokes off my score.

Really enjoy throwing my crystal sparkle thrasher. I also have a big z thrasher.

Between the two, the crystal sparkle is more stable for my arm speed (medium arm speed). I tend to flip the big z if I put a little too much torque on it.

That being said, I really like throwing the crystal sparkle on a hyzer flip and I'll just the big z on a long turn over shot.

If you have a lower arm speed this could be a nice distance driver for you.

This was the disc that got me hooked on DG

I was new to the game and thought I needed to throw a destroyer for a driver because... well.. that's what arrogant new players think. I was frustrated with how short and early my drives faded. Then someone handed me a Thrasher and wow, it was flippy enough to give me a little S-flex. Even though it only went 200 feet that was a record drive for me. I was stoked. I was hooked

Eventually my arm speed outgrew the Thrasher when thrown flat. At that point it was still a useful anny disc for me. Then a more experienced player taught me about hyzer flips. This disc was great to learn how to release on hyzer angle and would make you pay a big price by throlling if you didn't.

Now I drive about 400 feet and only use slower discs but I'm still very thankful I found the Thrasher as a new player

I think we all need an unstable disc in our bag and the Z Thrasher fills that spot for me. Hyzer flip straight is a great way to throw this disc but for me I pull it out for long anhyzer throws. What is unique about the Z Thrasher is it holds that anhyzer line without turning over and catching an edge. It just turns and turns and lands flat. Also, it doesn't stall out of that anhyzer line. So easy to throw. Helped me birdy a hole I've never been able to in the past.

Feel: it's shallow but comfortable.  The rim width is comfy too. 2.1 is a great width for an under stable disc

This is a disc that I did a review on and had very low expectations. With that being said, Discraft proved me wrong! I DID NOT expect to like this disc before I threw it but ended up absolutely loving it! It is absolutely great for long hyzerflips. It feels great int he hand for it being a wide rimmed driver as well. If you need a ton of distance with a flip shot on open holes or a straight shot through the woods, the Thrasher is great for that! In addition to this, if you really torque on it you could also use the Thrasher as a roller disc! Do yourself a favor and try one of these out! The Thrasher is a relatively understable distance driver that makes for some pretty easy distance. I think this would be a real nice first distance driver for someone getting into wider rims for the first time. It will fly pretty stable for players with lower power. For other players this disc will make a great turnover or hyzer flip disc. This disc would also be great for long distance rollers.

I won a Thrasher for free and it has been an absolute awesome addition to my bag.  This disc can reach out and go far!  I am a RHFH player and I usually use this disc when there is little to no wind or a tailwind.  I throw this on a hyzer and it will go so straight!  I have parked quite a few in the 400-450 range.  Good for tunnel shots if you have the arm to flip it up.  I have been working on my backhand, so I don't have a lot of speed yet, and this disc is still a good option.  It's all about the release.  Between this and the Crank, I am becoming a big Discraft fan!

The disc I received was an Am Worlds pre-release.  It's 174g Solid Z plastic.  I wasn't sure what to make of it at first.  Took it to a field and made some nice straight shots with a tight S-shape flight along the way.  Worked with it some more.  I would give it flight #'s of 11.5/5/-2/1.25
It definitely exhibits high speed turn, but it is not a big cut over.  It seems to move understable with only a small tilt.  Halfway through the flight it seems to flatten more and very likely will have a hyzer fade back to Near center in the end.  It is a very shapable disc.  Like a more stable Tern almost.  Once I was able to understand the flight I parked multiple holes in a row.  Some tough ones too.  It is not a wind fighter, but depending on your armspeed and how you release it the Thrasher may hold up in moderate headwind (but I don't really recommend it unless you are wanting more turn).
Overall I really like the disc.  Would love to see it in ESP plastic and hopefully a Stable ESP run.  It's a good disc and I am bagging it right now.
Similar to a Tresspass with a little more turn and a little less fade.
**I do not think it is like a Katana that much, its a smaller rim, less dramatic S-shape in the air.
If you grip it and rip too hard or roll your wrist it can turn and burn, but mostly did not see this problem.  Good disc!

Love this disc! I am an intermediate player, and this disc is great for my medium arm-speed. Picked one up today, and the first time I threw it, it flew just as advertised and I parked a 300ft hole that I've never birdied until today. Then on the next hole I opted for the Thrasher again, and parked a 250ft (uphill) hole and drilled my putt for a second bird in a row that I've never gotten before. I hope this comes out in the Big-Z plastic.

TL;DR Thanks to the Thrasher I was able to pick up 2 birdies I have never hit before and play my personal best at a local park.

Discraft did a fantastic job with the Thrasher. If your the kind of golfer who hits the occasional 400 foot shot but mostly get more around 350 to 375 then this will be the disc to get you out to 400 more often. At speed 12 the grip is spot on. The disc is not overly flat or domey. As far as feel and release, it is just what you hope for, and will find no problem with sending it down the fairway. The flight path is what I loved most about the Thrasher. Thrown flat with the power to go 350 feet, it does pretty good at getting the distance but you may find it landing farther to the right of your target then expected. But thrown with a touch of hyzer as an experienced disc golfer is more likely to do and you will find that it handles like a dream. Pops out smooth and slowly goes from hyzer to straight with a touch of right tracking to get you that extra distance and then slowly moves back to a left glide and finish. The key to this disc is the word slowly. Instead of immediately flipping up and heading on to its flight path and then fading it just seems to take its time doing any direction changes. And this leads to surprising extra distance because it just stays in the air for so long before it finishes its flight path. Very controllable and incredible glide. If I was to compare it to a disc, I would have to say it is a slightly more stable King. I tested 2 separate 172g Z Thrashers for this review.

The Thrasher flew exactly as advertised when I took it for a spin. I throw primarily backhand, so it was an easy disc to throw and carried a straight line a lot longer than I expected before finally fading out. I didn't need to put a lot of speed on the release to get surprising results. When I really tried to rip it, the disc pulled to the understable side a bit, but did not crash and burn-- it eventually made its way back. I can see this disc being very favorable to new players or intermediate players like myself who want easy-to-control distance without lightning speed, yet I can also see it being a useful control driver for experienced players-- something like a Latitude 64 River with more distance potential. It is a nice addition to the Discraft family.

My friend just got his the other day and I gave it a couple throws, what I can tell about the disc is that for beginners it will be there go to max driving backhand disc.Throw with a lot fo speed it will flip up and go right but thrown with just the right hyzer it will flip up to flat and go on a straight flight with really no fade. The advanced players will like it for tailwind bombs. and long hyzer flip straight shots and possibly rollers.

I'm loving the Discraft Thrasher so far. It's flight is about like the Crank SS, only you need even less power to get it to stand up and get max distance. This is a great backhand disc for someone with my arm speed and skill level. I'm able to push it out to about 350 feet with a good throw and it turns slightly with some end of flight fade back. The only problem I have with the Thrasher is I don't like Elite Z plastic for backhand throws. I just don't grip it well enough to prevent the occasional premature release. Get the Thrasher in ESP plastic and I'll have a new favorite Discraft distance driver.

Very easy distance as long as you are not in a tight fairway, you have to give it room to work.  Had a beautiful S shaped flight path & finished right where I was aiming. Had to give it enough height to finish its fade. Love it so far, we'll see once it gets beat up if it becomes to understable.
