Great neutral flight path with awsome glide. Takes a good bit of power to throw but it will be forgiving for less experienced players and dependably flippy for vets.

The Scorch is an enigmatic driver that can be maddening to throw at times. It's one of those discs that wants to either turn all the way over or not at all, and finding the perfect release on it can be difficult. One thing the Scorch has going for it is glide. The 6 is legit here. The Scorch floats beautifully and bombs when you hit it just right.

One other thing I notice about the Scorch is that it fades surprisingly hard and suddenly. The disc will be gliding along merrily and then dive bomb toward the ground without rhyme or reason.

Overall the Scorch is an OK driver, but I don't feel like it outperforms the Hades or Surge SS. It glides well, has a lot of easy turn, and will bomb if you're able to get a proper flex line out of it. Ridiculously inconsistent flier. It'll seem perfect one throw, then go haywire the next.

ESP Scorches are the way to go. They glide better than Z, and have a softer late fade. Frankly I don't feel like this disc is worth the trouble, and there are plenty of better options available.

I'm going to rate 5 stars on this disc, based purely on that I have thrown it noticeably further than my other go-to 11+ speed drivers(A Crank SS and Nuke SS). It does take a wider anhyzer S-shape shot to get it going, kinda like a Nuke, but I would agree, it's got a 6 glide rating for a reason!  At first, I was not a fan of how the disc slowed(hence the 2 fade number), but I can see it in the flight and it is apparent that it is there to get the disc out of its high-speed turn and I think will come in handy-offering a nice forward skipping finish.

Also, note that I have not been able to get great hyzer-flip action on this disc like I thought I would(from the #)- but I am throwing at 5,000+ ft elevation. (Colorado).

I found one of these and threw it just for the heck of it. I didn't expect much since I throw FH and usually lower speed stable discs. For some reason though this disc works better than any other as a driver for me. It goes further and more consistently and always has a beautiful S curve that lands its out pretty straight. I've bought other 11 speeds like a Fission Wave that I thought I'd like more, but if I lost this Scorch I'd buy another one before replacing it with a different model.

The scorch has been interesting to me. Normally discraft is very consistent disc to disc and plastic to plastic, but this is a disc that I have noticed changes with the plastic significantly. I have a first run Z line that is great to throw. It has turn, but is not understable by any means, it always fights out of the turn and it is a bomber for me. However, the ESP scorches I have noticed are quite a bit more understable right out of the box than the Z line. So if you are a beginner looking for a very flippy distance driver, ESP scorch would be a great disc, but if you have more arm speed I would strongly recommend the Z line plastic.

Ive heard really good things about the scorch and I wanted to love it, especially since I got mine for free. Heres my qualm: Z-line seems significantly more stable than the numbers imply. I have a decent arm and consistently can push 400+ ft on a good throw. I think part of the issue may be that im in Utah at 5000' ft elevation. Ill update when I get a chance to throw at a lower altitude.

Basically: Z-line is much more stable for the Scorch, but the plastic feels great and the mold was pretty comfortable in the hand, it just doesn't have a spot in my bag because of the stability problems between plastics.

375 power, doesn't fly anything like it's numbers.  Should have more early turn compared to a Wraith, Enigma or Grace and it just simply doesn't.  For me the main issue is the wing shape, it's pretty bulky with the height of the dome and the convex (pushing out) underside of the rim, along with the beed.  Small hands, I just don't get a solid snap like I can with the sharper shallower rim discs mentioned above.  I've seen this disc fly right in the right hands, I'd suggest to test one out from a buddy before springing for one.

I am leaving this review from the perspective of someone who consistently throws 375, slightly nose up, and with a medium hyzer. My experience with the first run over several months has been that this disc is great for easy distance and nice turn if thrown flat. My throw style typically has this disc on too much hyzer and thus it struggles to get flipped to flat consistently. That being said, when I do get it to flat, it miraculously good further than just about any disc in my bag and always finishes with a good fade (never over turned in normal wind conditions). I will point out my disc is quite domey, but not any more stable than my ledgestone esp.

I recommended for beginners because if thrown flat, I think anyone can get good distance.

    Z Line review

I have thrown my First Run Z Line Scorch for a few months now and has quickly become a staple in my bag. I find this disc to have consistent flip ups, paired with long distance glide. I use this for flip up tunnel shots as well as long flip ups that hold a straight line for the majority of the flight. I also find this disc extremely comfortable for forehands, which allows for standstill or hyzer flip shots for even more confidence in the woods. I find this to fly like a beat in Wraith with a lot more glide. Great woods disc!

hope this disc starts to break in a bit. I would give it a 0 on the fade. Get little to no turn on this disc.

I'm not sure if I just bought an overstable run, but straight out of the box this thing is not a -2...

I've thrown and still wraiths and enigmas from time to time, and the scorch is nothing like either of them. I have close to 400 feet of power throwing a wraith on a hyzer flip to flat and thought maybe this disc could have a similar flight but more glide. My scorch flies more like a force rather than a wraith, but it does have hella' glide even with being more on the overstable side right now. I'm hoping it starts to straighten out over time. Otherwise, my force already fills this slot.

    Elite Z Review

Over the past couple months the Scorch has become my primary driver. It feels somewhat like a slightly more understable wraith with a little more glide - for me at least. I love my star wraith, so this has become a solid compliment that usually offers me a little more distance.

It will give you some turn if thrown fast enough, but will usually fade out at the end of the flight. Although, I had a couple downhill throws that turned and never came back as I was learning the disc. The glide is fantastic. While the disc is controllable, I prefer to throw it when I have some room to play. I may pull out something different if precision is a must.

No noticeable difference for me between the first run and stock run. I have a 170-172 first run that turns easier than my 173-174's in both runs. I think this is a great disc for one who is moving up in speed but not ready for a Destroyer-ish type disc. Love the Scorch and plan to keep using it regularly. Looking forward to trying out the ESP plastic when available.

This disc was JUST what I needed. I have a lower arm speed and have not done well with distance drivers in the past . This disc felt like free distance. First day in the field I hit a throw of 331' when my previous best was 300'. Thrown flat this disc had a bit of turn and and just KEPT GOING! The disc glides off for days, but I did not feel like I was sacrificing control. Super pumped to have this in my bag.

Overall a nice addition to the Discraft line. Understable, but still very controllable and can handle some wind. Flies like a slightly worked-in Sheriff or Wraith. Excellent glide. Will be a max distance driver for a lot of intermediate arms, and a great transition disc for beginners looking to move on from beginner discs.

Throwing Z Line plastic at 4,400 ft in Utah. To me, 5 stars = incredible disc 4 stars = good & dependable disc. I don't give out too many 5 star ratings.

This disc is awesome. The rim width is pretty comfortable. I didn't really notice that it has a bead on it, it surprised me when I noticed that it did. The Z line is a solid plastic from Discraft, I really enjoy it.

For me, my best drives are around 400' for perspective. I had a hard time getting this disc to give me some turn when thrown flat. Or if thrown on a hyzer angle, I can't get it to come to flat yet. However, when I throw this on a flex line, it will hold that anhyzer angle for a lot longer than anticipated. But it will still come out of it and end up fairly straight in front of me.

Overall, I like this thing a lot! I think I'll put one in my bag for a while and keep throwing it. Maybe it'll knock out my other go-to drivers, we'll see.
